I never got it before. But now i've seen an ep i its entirety....I must say I havnt laughed like that in a long time.

It was about a Gruff ugly fat man, Who Had a Womans arm grafted onto him in a Chop-Shop and it started to take over him.

Mmm, the only link to Spaced from TLOG is that Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith were in a couple of episodes in the second series.

Reece brilliantly playing Mikes nemesis, Dexter, in the Robot Wars episode.

I watched the episode "Art" again today, the one with Vulva, Brian's old artistic partner.

Tim: So, are you gonna go?
Brian: (wistfully) I dunno, I haven't seen her for ages.
Tim: No, I mean, are you gonna go, now?

The DVD's are a must to enjoy both seasons, loaded with brilliant extras (the Homage-O-Meter on S2 disc is fab!) if you're lucky you can catch them in HMV on sale - last time I saw on the "Buy One Get One Free" deal.

Seen this on the Spaced Website, which is a DVD of the BBC Series "Look Around You" (a marvelous parody on the "Science For Schools" educational programmes from the 70's, which I had to watch when I was at School.)

Check out the website, and try the quizzes, they're hilarious!  I particularly like the periodic table.

The relevance this has to Spaced, is that it is co-written and co-stars Duane Benzie himself, Peter Serafenowicz, and features cameos from Edgar Wright (Spaced Director), Simon Pegg (Tim) and Nick Frost (Mike).

God bless satellite TV.

Paramount Comedy 2 have been re-running Spaced Series 2 and this weekends episodes are two of the best ones.

EPISODE 3 - "METTLE"
Mike and Tim are through to the final of "Robot Wars" and Daisy gets a job working in a restaurant kitchen.

Marvellous "Robocop" homage to begin with, as well as "Fight Club", "Waterworld" and "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" are all referenced.

Look out for Reese Shearsmith (The League Of Gentlemen) as Dexter, Mike's Nemesis.  Also contains mega line: "Timmy, fetch me my tools!"

EPISODE 4 - "HELP"
The return of Tim's messanger, "Tyres" to deliver Tim's cartoon portfolio to Dark Star Comics, as Tim's up for a big job.  Only Daisy puts Tim's pic of Dark Star Editor, Damian Knox ("I'm a massive wanker!" ) in the folder, so Tim, Mike and Tyres have to try to get it back.

Look out for fantastic "Sixth Sense" homage.  Classic!

Godbless for bumping this thread, Stu.

Curse my non-broadband connection.  I want to see that trailer.

Basically, the word I've heard is that this movie's gonna rock!  Jess also shows up in the movie in a minor role, and it also stars The Office's Lucy Davis (Dawn).

As for Spaced, you'll just have to wait and see. I have a feeling you haven't seen the last of Tim, Daisy, Mike, Brian, Twist, Marsha and Colin. I would love to close their stories before the end of 2004 as would Jess, Edgar and Channel 4. so who knows? Further Spaced seems very likely.

Fingers crossed.

Time for another great moment:

Brian: It's from Vulva.
Tim: That another woman's magazine?
Brian: It's an old friend, she's having a show, tonight.
Tim: You have a friend called Vulva, who's called Vulva?
Brian: Her real name's Ian.
Tim: What do you mean her real name's Ian.
Brian: She's non-gender specific.
Tim: What? You mean he's a tranny?
Brian: More than that.
Tim: What? A big fat tranny?
Brian: We had a multi-media performance art partnership, before she moved on.  Such asthetic wonders, such vibrant times.
Tim: Yeah, I can imagine.
Tim imagines two pretentiously dressed artists prancing about in a park.
Brian: No, no.  We did valuable work.
Brian imagines the same scene.
Brian: She was the beautiful one, I just danced to her tune.  Purity, it was physical, not in a sexual sense.  Collaborative.  I don't expect you to understand, people don't want to hear, they just switch off.  It's hard to hear the story of a love affair between two straight men, one of whom is the most devine woman alive.
Tim: So are you gonna go?
Brian: I dunno, I haven't seen her in ages.
Tim: No, I mean, are you gonna go, now?

Classic.

EDIT: Thanks to StuartB who DCC'd me the Shaun Of The Dead trailer.

It looks totally awesome, and some great gags in the trailer already.  Like trying to beat a zombie with swingball, and throwing vinyl records at them.  Brilliant.

Well, I've finally got round to doing a new scan, and it seems to fit in here the best. I scanned an image from Spaced Out because I wanted it as a desktop wallpaper, and the original was so small. So I scanned it, added some credits and the SotD logo from the trailer, and here it is:

I saw one ep of Spaced on UK-TV, and loved it! It was the one where Daisy pretended she'd been sick in order to get some allowance from the government, when in fact she'd gone to, uh, Thailand? on a holiday. And she went in, being all sick and soppy, but wearing the Thailand T-shirt... it was so funny. And the comic shop guy had to cope with all these people wanting Jar Jar Binks merchandise...  :laff:

Is Daisy the same actress who played Denise's best friend in The Royle Family? I have a feeling I've seen her before.

@ Dolcelannah: That's a good episode, where Tim gets fired from Bilbo's comic shop (it has Tim's diatribe against The Phantom Menace - which is quoted elsewhere in this thread).

Keep watching, there are even better eps to follow (that one was Ep2 of Series 2) - including the Robot Wars Ep, and the one where Tim and Daisy go out on the town (the one with the play gunfights).

Well, there's only two weeks til we find out.  But, early word is that, the movie's gonna be awesome.  Some of the peeps from Spaced Out have seen it and rate it very highly.

For those interested, I gather that Simon Pegg is a guest on Jonathan Ross tomorrow night.  So look out for a clip or two.

So, Pegg was on Jonathan Ross this weekend.  They showed a couple of clips from Shaun, both hilarious, one of the classic play-gunfights from Spaced and a brilliant berievement counselling sketch from Big Train (which comes out on DVD, both series', in May).

Pegg also hinted at future Spaced, saying that they're all keen (Him, Jess, Edgar and Channel Four), they just have to get together and do it.  As well as saying that all Spaced Fans are nutcases.

Oh, and the new extended Shaun trailer is up and running on the Shaun site (see linky in the post above).  Excellent!

 :laff:

Pegg says in the commentary on the DVD that it would've just been fun to have Brian appear out of nowhere and be holding bamboo (for no reason), other than it makes the joke funny*.

* - Is it me, or is Simon Pegg's childlike hysterical crying just hilarious (like in the Ep where he gets fired from the Comic Store, and in this scene).

I've tried to remember the quotes from this scene, rather unsuccessfully.

In other news, Pegg posted an "apology" on the Spaced Out Forum for his comments about Spaced Fans on Jonathan Ross.  Hilarious.  Bless him.

It goes a little something like this:

Daisy: I'm going to the newsagents, do you want anything while I'm there.

Tim: Porn!

Daisy: I'm not gonna buy you porn, you can get it from railway sidings like everybody else.

Tim: I can't, I'm an adult, I'm supposed to leave it there.

-----------
From memory, the Dog thingy:

Tim: I had a monor phobia when I was a kid.

Daisy: How minor?

Tim: I had to have counselling.  He said I had Canophobia, I thought "oh great, I'm frightened of Bamboo as well!".  Then I started to get over it, I was feeling all well-adjusted and happy when this big fuck-off dog came at me, jaws slavering, eyes lit like the fires of hades, and I thought "this is it".  But luckily, fate was smiling on me that day.

Daisy: What happened?

Tim: I got struck by lightning.

Daisy: WHAT!?

Tim: Yeah, it hurt, but it scared the shit out of the dog.

Daisy: So, now you're scared of dogs and lightning?

Tim: ...and bamboo.

Never had the pleasure of watching Spaced stoned, however, I can imagine that it'd be as, if not, more hilarious.

Meanwhile, back in Shaun Of The Dead mode, this weeks' HotDog article on Shaun states that if the movie goes well (Working Title are really getting behind it, as there's been a decent TV Campaign, and video hoardings at the England game), they've already got a sequel title planned:

Excellent.

Another plus from the success of Shaun would be that Spaced will hopefully get more airings in countries that have only given it a couple of shows, namely the US.
