TV Sucks.

Well I have been thinking about TV. how much do they suck when there is nothing on TV. I always think they do. I don't have have but I only have cable. I use to watch lots of good tv shows and now some of them are gone. here is my details:

BBC 1 - I only watch Easteanders.
BBC 2 - nothing on that channel
ITV 1 - This is the worst channel ever.
Channel 4 - Use to watch BB and I like Bo Selecta
Channel 5 - somtimes I wacth films there.
Sky One - For Futurama, use to watch The Simpsons but now I got borde with it. Now they show pointless tv shows. Repeats of Buffy is on though
UK Gold - I don't watch that much
Living TV - can be ok at the day time but why do they show porn at night time?
Challenge TV - Never watch it
Bravo - Can be good sometimes There only one and wired show that is good and that is called "Out There"
Paramount - never watch it
Sci Fi - Somtimes I watch the Manga
Home And Leisure - Never watch it
Discovery Home And Leisure - Never watch it
Sky Travel - Never watch it
UK Style - Never watch it
UK Drama - I only watch the channel once cos they were showing the moive From Dust Till Darn
E4 - Somtimes I watch it just in case I miss something on C4
ITV 2 - Sometimes I watch it for late night talk shows

Sky Premier - For watching good Moives
Sky Cinema - For good Old moives
TCM - Shit moives goes there

Sky Sports 1 - Somtimes I watch WWE
Sky Sports 2 - Sometimes WWE comes on this channel
Eurosport - Never watch it

MTV - somtimes watch it but they always show repeated shows like Jackass and The Osburnes. Come on show us some new shows!

The Box - I watch this channel the most
Sky News - sometimes I watch it

One thing that I hate it pointless tv shop channels. I think the best thing to enertain yourself is go out and rent a moive, watch your videos, and do some other things. I'm thinking of cutting my cable off too.

Which is why I don't watch TV at all.

Except the news and some documentaries, but that's it!

As I've said previously, perhaps you should review the list of "stuff you never watch" and perhaps give it a go - maybe you'll come across something you never knew you liked.

Open your mind, if you don't watch it, it doesn't mean it's shite.

Have to disagree about VH1 too, they show some good music documentaries like "Behind The Music".  With Sky Digital, I'm blessed with 20-something music channels, all of which have something to offer - and I'm glad of that.

oh sorry I watched VH1 last night and they showed somthing about celebrity marriage and it was very interesting to watch. I might try some other channels but not kids channels and TV shop channels. I wish Sky1 will show some good programes.

Well, I don't live where those channels are, but you're right, most TV sucks.  There are some things that I watch but it's always the same channels.  I have about 6 TVs, and my big screen one has direct TV, and even then there isn't much to enjoy.  Basically all I watch is cartoons on CN, some Nickelodeon, music videos, animal planet once in a while, rarely movies, sports of course, news, some series but most of them suck (newest one is Dead Like Me), really only the Simpsons and possibly AI on fox (besides Futurama), and not much more.  Then along comes Futurama, which has everything a show should have.  There are no other shows that do that. That's why there is so little good things to watch.  *sigh*

I only get the fine regular channels and they have plenty of good stuff on, perhaps you need to be more selective, nothing on BBC2 means you are missing some good stuff.

Yes, 95% of (British)TV does suck.  I watch the occasional documentary, but little else.  If I see another trailer for an 'action' drama or 'emotional' drama starring an ex-soap star I will (to borrow a phrase) kill all humans.  That and 'reality shows' (there's something *so* real about 10 people shut inside a house together for a month).  And relentless celebrity tittle-tattle.  And the latest well-regarded American 'swearing and sex' show on late on C4.  And the latest British 'shouting, sex, nightclub and violence' drama on BBC2.

I could go on (god, I could) but I think my point has been made.

Tweek's right, BBC2 has great stuff.  There's the Simpsons episodes we've already seen on Sky, the Buffy episodes we've... already seen on Sky, the Star Trek episodes that have been repeated to within an inch of their lives...

UK History - Ok i suppose, sometimes watched.

I can't be bothered to go through the list of Freeview channels, but they are sucky. I'd probably say BBC2/BBC1 are the best channels.

Shows/Channels I Hate With Every Fiber of my Body:
WB-Wacky sitcoms and stupid classic cartoon remakes are evil.

PAX-Great another relgious channel. Just what I need.

All of CBS's Sitcoms.

FOX-Everything except Futurama and classic Simpsons.

The 700 Club- If you've seen the show you'll understand.

All C-Span Channels- Great a channel about one of my least favorite kinds of people: politicans.

ESPN2- I think one ESPN is enough. I really don't need updates on the New Hampshire Spelling Bee, Ohio's Battle of the Cows, and some sport from a small South American country named Slodging.

Lifetime- This channel was made to empower women which is a good thing, unfortunately they miss their target and end up making women look small and helpless and men look large and evil. I DO like the Golden Girls though.

MTV- Who couldn't love a channel that supports teen stars, pop music, and reality shows? Me.

Nickelodeon- I hate everything except the classic shows (Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, etc.), Invader Zim, Spongebob Squarepants, and Nick @ Nite.

Disney Channel- Thiss channel is the spawn of Satan himself.

ABC Family- Proudly portraying American life like it was in the 50's while confusing people living in the real world.

E!- A world where superficiality rules. Get your well-manicured hands off me you damn clean celebrities!

FOX News Channel- News: FOX style. 'Nuff said.

FX- TNN without the small smidgen of quality.

The New TNN- I just really started to watch this and it seems pretty mediocre.

Oxygen- Lifetime without the Golden Girls.

I mean, who wants to watching Townie Scum locked in a house for ten weeks on the slim pretext that they'll make a low-budget porno.

Last year, the employees of my cable company went on strike and some of them cut of the TV cable that gave the feed for all my little town. After a month without it I realized how useless the cable is.

Now I don't pay for it anymore!

I "sleep" through most assemblies, but the mention of watching Big Brother and being sad for watching it got a giggle.

I don't see what's so entertaining though, the first was ok, i saw some. Second was alot worse, i hardly watched it. Current one is apparently the most boring piece of shit on TV. I never voted or felt compelled to vote.

I've just had an idea! How about a cable/pay channel called "Reality TV" where they can air the reality TV sepearte from the rest of the nation?

I don't have much choice because I don't cable. Otherwise I can watch Cartoon Network and Comedy Central all day long.

The big four networks all have mostly subpar programming. Aside from Futurama and The Simpsons, the only gems FOX has are That 70's Show, Seinfeld, and Mad TV.

TNN - I haven't watched much of this, but at least I would've prefered to see some car shows. At least stuff like that is interesting.

I find Malcolm In The Middle funny, and Frankie and Lois (i don't know her real name) are great actors.  So are Hal and the fat guy, I think Craig is his name. (I don't know their names either).  Besides the Simpsons and Futurama, that's basically the only other thing on Fox I watch.

Futurama, the older syndicated Simpsons eps, and the news are the only things I watch on network TV.  Network TV has lately become a landfill full of reality TV programming.  Unfortunately, it's starting to invade cable.  At this rate, there'll be nothing good on TV at all.  I was hoping that the Reality TV rush would've worn itself out by now, or at least soon.  Instead, it's multiplying faster than a rabbit colony.

What I like watching on cable, besides animated stuff, is all those documentaries on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the Learning Channel, etc.  Those are fun  .
