*BUMP* Just wondering. Since the Zim action figures just came out, is anyone planning to get them? Psycho Dog Toys just shipped my complete wave one set and I managed to get the Dib, Zim and Gir variants from Hot Topic before they sold out. Hooray!

Alright, let's go through this step by step... The DVDs range from $15-$20 each and there are three volumes. But if you haven't bought them, then I'd suggest you hold out until spring of 2005, where all three volumes and two bonus discs will be released in a lovely box set designed to look like Zim's house. Now onto the pilot. Before the show was even made, a short 11-minute-or-so pilot was made that looked a little more sketchy in manic, or in other words, a lot more like Jhonen's drawings. But, in this pilot, Billy West did the voice for Zim. This thing never aired. So then, Nick agrees to order Zim as a show. But Jhonen didn't want Billy to do the voice, as he was already on another science-fictiony cartoon show (I'll give you a cookie if you guess what show that was). So, he got Richard Horvitz to do the voice, who was also the voice of Daggett in Angry Beavers. Horvitz did Zim's voice for the entire series, and the episode you're referring to is indeed the actual show's pilot, not the original pilot. [gasps for air, then passes out]

Does this show ever come on in the UK? I've never seen it, but would like to give it a shot. Only thing is I don't have Sky, I just get all the freeview digital channels...

Okay. Thanks, spacepilot. According to Room With a Moose, the figure is going to be a repainted GIR. (But the robot bee comes with the Zim figure, so rest assured that it will be available) Originally posted by spacepilot3000: One question, I heard that the DVD company accedentally encoded the cut version of "The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever", I have seen the episode that is supposidly cut. Can anyone tell me the diffrence between the two? I'm not sure what the difference is, but yes. Media Blasters did put the cut version on the DVD. But there is a possibility that the uncut version will be released on one of the upcoming DVD mini-disks. A little off-topic, but I just spent some of my Christmas money ordering JTHM: Director's Cut from Amazon. And I saved $10 by ordering it with Squee's Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors.

HUGE BUMPSome more news on the box, from tvshowsondvd.com... Back in October '04 we reported (near the bottom) that the Invader Zim - Volume 3: Horrible Holiday Cheer did NOT have the uncut version of the Christmas Episode, "The Most Horrible Christmas Ever"...despite a mention on the back of the release's box that it did. The folks at Media Blasters wanted to make it right with the fans, though, and started exploring various ways to do that. One thought was to put the uncut episode onto a separate 3" Mini-DVD, and they worked with a fansite to set up a poll asking for feedback about that idea.
We reported on the poll in a November news story, and fans who voted there overwhelming said they would buy such a disc. However, fan feedback in other forums (including e-mails sent here to TVShowsOnDVD) suggested a better course of action: that the studio should simply include the uncut Christmas episode in the "extras" disc being planned for release in January to accompany the "Zim house" box set. We never officially heard whether or not that was taken up as the plan or not, but by Christmas Eve 2004 we were posting news that the Invader Zim "House with Toy & Bonus Disc" releases were delayed from the first part of January all the way to April 12th.
We had our suspicions at that time, but in the past week we've gotten e-mails from readers (Dominick Roman and Raymond Delgadillo among the first of them) who report that many online retailers are showing a new list of bonus features for that release. Among them are the Uncut Christmas Episode. They are almost word-for-word identical, right down to the incorrect spelling of robot "GIR" as "Grrr" (must have been typed up by someone unfamiliar with the show!). Here's the list, with a corrected spelling:
* Contains a GIR figurine * Extras Disc, with approximately 200 minutes of extras, including: o 70 minutes of the best of soundtracks from the series, as selected by the composer o Interview with Kevin Manthei, the composer o Making of the audio (shows how music is added to the video) o 8 unfinished episodes (music and voiceover) o The uncut version of the Christmas Episode And this is just my personal speculation, but I'm pretty positive that four of the eight unfinished episode readings on the disk are going to be... "Simon Says Doom" "Nubs of Doom" "Return of Keef" "Mopiness of Doom" These are the ones that are confirmed to have recordings by the cast. I don't know what the other four will be. If they include "Top of the Line", this disk will be well worth the price.

Bumped again This weekend on the nick chanel is a Zim weekend. All Zim, for two straight days. Don't miss, well more than a third of it. I just watched the Tak episode, and I realized that the last shot was a setup to Invader DibAll the more reason I weep at the cancelling of this breakthrough show.

Two questions, the first for Pitt, the second as a discussion: 1. Which "Nick"? Nicktoons, Nick US, Nick UK? 2. Does this mean that Nick might actually be debating on getting the show back?
I'm going to go find the Zim Box Set, since my DVDs 1+2 didn't include disc 2, I don't have DVDs 3+4, and I want to see the special features. Now to find somewhere that would sell it...

I'm thinking of completing my 'Invader Zim' collection, but I'm kind of confused about a few things.
I have Volume 3 already, and will get Volumes 1 & 2 eventually. Since I'll already have the three volumes, I'm most likely going to get the Zim's House Package with the extras. My question is this: "If I buy it, are the 2 mini discs included?" (I was looking at amazon.com, and saw there were two mini-discs.) "If not, do I have to buy them separately? Oh yeah, and are these the only 'Invader Zim' DVDs out there so far?
Since I only have Volume 3, this is my favorite scene so far: <In something called "Mortos The Soul Stealer", Dib calls out to Zim, and Zim can't hear him, and says 'what' all the time. Then Zim tells Gir to attack Dib (or Zim says something along those lines), and Gir throws a sandwhich in Dib's face. Then Gir says something like 'I had a sandwhich in my head' in that funny voice of his.>
My favorite episode so far is the one with Tak.
Oh well, enough for now.
