Neo vs. Yoda

We had a nerdy discussion in college today and seeing DT's post sealed the deal to make me post it here!!

Who would win: Neo from The Matrix vs. Yoda from Star Wars, who would win if they had a fight inside The Matrix where Neo has all his powers and Yoda has The Force and a lightsaber.

Neo cuz, inside the matrix... HE IS the force. Yoda's powers have no bearing inside the matrix... besides a lightsaber in the matrix? hmmm... look what neo can do with bullets let alone a lightsaber.

Sadly, I suspect Neo would. He's got whore-powers. That is, he is a deity in the matrix. He's got the sum of humanity's fighting knowledge in his head, through no virtue of his own. Force usage tires Jedi. Martix manipulation does not tire Neo, from what we've seen.

So Neo would win, through no real virtue of his own, other than "freeing his mind" or somesuch.


Of course, maybe Yoda would himself achieve Neo's state, given a few moments in the matrix. The little dude is canny, having been around almost a millenium. If that takes place, Neo can drag his top half over to his bottom half and kiss his butt goodbye, after the lightsaber comes into play.

Yoda in posession fo the force could mentally block Neo from doing anything to him, or even use his mind to unlock the power of the matrix for himself.

Man, you are a badass.

Anyway, I guess Neo would beat Yoda, just like Superman would beat Batman. But it's always a popularity contest, and Batman is a better character...so if they do a Superman Vs. Batman story, they'd probably make Batman win, or they'd be totally lame and call it a tie. Fuck that! Superman is super, man! He'd kill Batman in an instant.

So anyway, what were we talking about? Oh right--popularity contests. Star Wars is closer to my heart than The Matrix(I even like the prequels better--you heard me!), so I will vote Yoda.

If they were in the Matrix, Neo'd be faster, anyway...although that's a tough call, considering Yoda's battle with Count Dooku...But Neo would come out on top...besides, isn't yoda gonna be computer animated from now on?

Mmmm...Yoda against Neo...I would agree with many others in saying that Neo probably would as he's in the Matrix. But yet Yoda was brilliant in that light sabre fight....

Not sure. Yoda I guess. And as I like both movies I'm not beeing unfair 'cause I prefer Yoda. He's just... smarter. 
A shame that Elrond Mr. Smith will have trouble in fighting Neo... I really like the good ones in Matrix, but I'm a more faithful LOTR-fan though.

mmmmmmmmmmm.....lets see....yoda uses force...turns off matrix....yoda wins.

pulls after seeing the 2nd matrix film yoda would have to win....i actually came close to falling asleep in the cinema....the first one is brilliant....and i hope the third one is but as for the second....no way.

oh and TPM and AOTC are both really good....the whole palpatine using everyone to get to head of the senate and then creating himself a big army is well cool.
