I hate it when MTV just show pointless things like repeating The Osbunres all the time which puts me off on Buying The Osbunres on DVD.

What are a few things that you don't like about TV?

Films interrupted by adverts. On C5 there's like a break for adverts every 10 minutes!

I hate it when TV people talk over credits, and most adverts, and having too much news on TV as well.

It cant be that bad...
When my grandparents had foxtel a few years ago with the simpson's fan fest while the olympics was on was pretty good

and they play futurama twice a week, even if they are reruns and on at 6:30 in the evening...

yeah ok it is pretty crappy...

There's a really exciting thing about to happen in the film...someone's about to die...who will it be?...oh no there's a break coming up...oh well only 3 minutes of adverts...wait what's that you say?

"The film will continue in 40 minutes after the news and by that time you will have given up and gone to bed so you'll never know how the film ends! Ha! Loser!"

Oh and I also get irked when BBC cancels the late night repeat of Buffy at the last minute to repeat some programme about dung beatles that was on earlier in the day and then decide to show 7 hours of Teletext pages afterwards.

I forgot about Reality TV, that is the worst thing ever invented!

Erm, what else do i hate? I like the BBC because they have about 1 minute of ads for their own shows between each show. Daytime TV also sucks, i think the best thing on today (on daytime TV) was 'Wipeout'.

I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that. I dunno where Monkhouse gets his jokes but he must have canned laughter piped into his ear  ;).

Ermmm - I hate that there is only about 7 hours of TV in a week that I might actually want to watch (and most of that is Simpsons repeats).

I hate the predictability of cable tv stations. As Bill Bryson puts it: "If you turn on the Discovery channel and find a programme on Hollywood stunts (and you will), you can be certain that the next time you turn on the Discovery channel at the same hour, it will be a programme on Hollywood stunts. Probably it will be the same episode."

Stupid commercials, sleezy specials, reality TV, boring cliched sitcom formulas, corny dramas, telethons on PBS, too many court shows, bad shows that last years and years, networks that cancel great shows (i.e., Futurama), infomercials, NBC's Thursday night line up (except Friends), 99% of ABC NBC and CBS shows, MTV's shows, the fact that throughout all of Saturday and most of Sunday there's nothing good on, The Simpsons still being on air, sleezy talk shows like Maury, pointless cable stations (like C-Span), boring late night shows (Tonight Show, David Letterman), when stations switch shows without telling anybody, when a show is shown starting in progress because something went on too long, pointless "sports" (ice skating, golf), the way a bad show gets good ratings when you wedge it between 2 good shows, the rigged Nielsen ratings, sucky TV movies, scrunched up credits, bad theme songs, laughtracks, sweeps, gimmicky episodes for sweeps that might ruin a show, summer shows, most midseason replacements, state lottery shows, local shows, the way networks show episodes out of order so plots might not make sense, dubbing for foreign movies, Joe Millionaire which deserves to be mentioned because it brought reality TV to a new low, shows where someone stars directs writes and produces, soap operas with their corny music and stupid drama and the way they show new eps every day and last decades, British shows that only have like 6 episodes a year, dry Britsh humor, anime shows that make tons of episodes a year and have insane plots, the way anime shows look like they were all drawn by the same guy, stupid kids shows (BARNEY!), shows based on popular movies (My Big Fat Greek Life), cooking shows (Just buy a damn cookbook, people!), stupid game shows, bad shows that get too popular (Malcolm in the Middle), censors.

Wow, that was a long rant.

Crappy adverts for car/life/home/pet insurance and loans. Also adverts for promoting singles or promoting a specific music store. The voice over guy/woman always over exagerates and has a hella annoying voice. To me they always try and put on an American accent whilst doing so. You're English, use your own accent dammit!!

Also reality TV shows. Which reminds me, theres a new Big Brother coming to a TV near you soon. Aw crap!  :hmpf:

Wow that was quite a rant...sorry

TV isn't the right medium for films anyway, there can be too many distractions at home. Ads are the obvious one, channels shouldn't show ads during films.
Plus, your TV should automatically disconnect your phone and doorbell when a film comes on and anyone who isn't watching should piss off or be tied up.  :evillaugh:

The worst thing about TV is TV itself. I hate the fact that when I'm bored I have to watch TV, then I hate it when there's nothing on I want to watch (which is most of the time now), and then I hate it when people complain about nothing being on, and then I hate it when they complain about not censoring programmes (e.g. that kiss in 'Casualty'), then I hate it when people make a big deal about new programmes (like Big Brother), then when they make a big deal about how old it is (Big Brother), and...

This is what I get for doing Media Studies. I'll shut up now.

Reality Shows! They're annoying and not even realstic! When have you ever been flown to a foreign country with 19 other people to compete for the love of a person who pretends he's a millionaire on TV like on Joe Millionaire? How is this realistic? Reality shows make me wanna...hold on a sec-   :puke:

I generally hate british tv. it's all very life-like and depressing. In almost every other country, tv is composed of crappy storylines... but at least the producers have the decency and initiative to cast good looking "phwoooar i'd f__k her/him" actors and actresses.

People dont want to come home from work and see the same world on the telly. people watch stuff to escape their reality... hence the popularity of movies in cinema. Instead I'm coming home tired and I turn on my tv to find ugly old people arguing about who is having an affair with who and why somebody was short-changed in the local corner shop. The news is depressing enough... I have now turned to downloading happy-go-lucky American tv filled with good-looking SEXY SEXY people (JOLENE!!!).

Britain has tooooo many dramas, and our attempt at sit-coms are crap. BOOOOOOO

You know, this question actually got me thinking. I think the worst thing about TV is the way that it has befallen us as the only medium for enjoyment. Instead of moaning about how the TV sucks, how about turning off the TV and making your own enjoyment?  :D
