Special days!

You know how lately MTV have been having things like 'Gareth Day' and things like that?.. well what other 'days' should it have.  After all, you get to watch them none stop.. I think it should be Good Charlotte.  And i also think television programmes and advert should have 'special days' too.  What do you think?  Maybe we could give them some ideas !

I'd like to see a "No MTV presenters, adverts or crappy music" day where the TV just remians blank all day with the logo in the corner, with occasional messages stating that this is a piece of performance art

It pisses me off when TV channels have themed days.  Take Sky One this weekend for example.  Their overblown celebration of the Simpsons 300th episode has pushed "The Why of Fry" back from the 20th to the 27th.

I actually like Green Day and some early Blink, but I don't really consider it "punk" or "emo".  It's really just rock.  As for what I DO consider punk, that'd be the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, etc.
I think Good Charlotte and Sum*41 are manufactured bands.

As for what day I'd like on MTV, how about No Doubt or Garbage day?  No, better- Aimee Allen day!    I'd suggest Oingo Boingo day, but that'd leave those MTV Carson clones scratching their heads and asking, "Is that a new rap group?"

^ Oingo Boingo day?  Sign me up!!!    One of the best live shows I've ever seen was Green Day at a little bar here in Vancouver.  This was about two years before "Dookie" was released.  I'd agree with you by saying Green Day is just good 'ol rock and roll.  At the end of the show there was footprints on the ceiling!  In my humble opinion that's the hallmark of a good show. 

True story:
After that Green day show two female friends of mine got Green Day stoned on acid and took them out for breakfast at Denny's.  They pulled a D&D (dine and dash) and ducked out the door, thereby sticking Green Day with the bill.  Now that's rock and roll!

Yeah I heard about them spitting up and just when their film is coming out soon.

The one thing I am looking forward to see on MTV is a new show called Punt. It?s where they play tricks on the famous people and they are teasing Justin Timberlake by taking his stuff out of his house. This should be good to watch.
