Cool!
James Garner rocks.
They never made it to R2 though, consarnit!

He really does, but I got the discs more for Jack Elam, and for Bruce Dern in "Sheriff".  Hi-larious!   :laff:

O Brother Where Art Thou
Bruce Almighty
Fantasia
Fantasia 2000
Cowboy Beebop - Best Sessions
The Abyss

What?  Says who?  If they're gonna bump back the DVD realese (and the theatrical release of Vol. 2, to coincide) to April, they better give it some special features!

I found this, which just is an interview in which QT says how much he loves DVD technology and all the extras he'll put into it. It doesn't mention which region, though.

I think it's small enough to quote:

Quote
"I'm thinking about it big time already," he said. "I can't imagine a better movie when it comes to great DVD stuff. I'm gonna really play fair as far as the DVD's concerned, you know? We'll come up with separate DVDs for Volume 1 and Volume 2 and I'll do special stuff for each of those.
Then we'll come up with a real big version with them both together but I won't repeat the special stuff I put on Volume 1 and Volume 2. I'll do something whole other from that. I might even do some other little movie thing just to go on that special double feature version."

Things the industry learned with The lord of the Rings DVD'S.

But I'm also reading about this dvd in R1 and so far the only thing that's been announced is a Behind the Scenes featurette, and that would be really dissapointing. But there's still hope, The Digital Bits in their news section today said that there will be more extras to be announced.

So, what's the deal with RCE DVD's, they only work on the regional players they're supposed to?

I have a multi player which you can set to R0, R1, R2, R3 or R4 (through a bit of remote control jiggery pokery).
Will a RCE DVD work if I set it right?

Edit: I also meant to ask, what's with the serious lack of the Donnie Darko DVD (R2) with all the features on it?
I can only find the "Prism" edition which has bugger all on it!

Oooh, oooh! I found that Circut City's selling the individual "Alien" movies by themselves, and not in the Quadrilogy. So, naturally, I bought "Alien" and "Aliens." The others can rot in hell. (Okay, "Alien 3" wasn't bad, but not "own-worthy".)

What RCE does is query the player what region code it has. If the player doesn't answer with R1, the disc won't play. So as long as you can switch your player to R1, you'll be fine.

Has anyone (from the UK) bought from SplasDVD.com?
Is it a good place, service wise, no delivering of dogs or rods of plutonium by accident?

Some of their stuff is cheaper than Play.com
