24 has gotten really out of hand. It was cool in it's 1st and 2nd seasons, but the 3rd season is silly. Good thing the acting is really good or else I wouldn't be watching it.

I wouldn't call this season silly, but it has taken me longer to get interested in it then the first two.

Well, ok. It's not really silly, just been a bit boring and unintresting for a few of the episodes. But now it's starting to get interesting again.

I think this new season seems more rushed than the others.
First and foremost- there's no follow-up from the last one (I did miss the first two episodes, but my mother told me there was no cross-over).
I wanted to know what happened with Miguel, Lynne and the president's hand.
Another thing: Most of the tension comes from situations where someone might get shot. These situations are are growing old already.
Those were my five cents. Agree?

I feel like I can't take these terrorists with this virus seriously. They keep changing their plans and keep getting new partners and killing old partners. I remember last season where you knew that at some time these terrorists were going to nuke LA. It seems that there's nothing to look forward to like that. That and the fact that the last new episode of 24 aired 3 weeks ago and there is no new one tonight.

24 is a real-time drama about Jack Bauer and the team at CTU. Each season covers one day (Years apart though) and is made of 24 episodes, each 1 hour long (Including adverts). I think it's a great show and well worth your time.

Living in the UK you can find it on Sky every Thursday night, i think it's on at 9:00. It's also repeated twice more or something. If you want to watch it i suggest watching the first two seasons (Available on DVD) but if you don't want to buy them and just want to watch this one you need to see the first 5 episodes of this season.

If you don't have Sky (like myself) you're pretty screwed. I'm downloading the current season because BBC aren't showing it.

/bump

I just watched the first two episodes of season 4 tonight, and I'll catch the two episodes shown tomorrow (Monday) as well.  This is my first season of "24" that I plan on watching all the way through (I only caught bits and pieces of previous seasons.)  So, for a newbie, which season do you think I should check out first?  Season 1, season 2, or season 3?

I'd say start from the beginning with season 1. Work your way up. I personally liked season 2 the best though.

‘24’ (24 heures chrono) is a very, very popular American show in France. My hubby is a big fan of it, aside from other U.S. programmes like ER, Roswell...etc that he watches and adores.

He finished watching season 3 at least a month ago. He said season 1 and 2 are both very good, but season 3 is not as good maybe because when season 1 and 2 were first released in France, the idea was new and exciting and all.

We own season 1 DVD of ‘24,’ I tried to watch it once. I personally think it is ok, it's not as good as he describe it. I think mainly is because I find some of the characters in there annoying which prevented me to like it much. I prefer shows like ‘Taken’ (La disparition) better, I wonder whether they will make a sequel of it or not.
   :)

@Evan I think you should watch it in order, so first season 1 then 2 then 3. My hubby likes season 1 and 2 better than season 3.

season one was good, because everything was happy, to some extent. in S2 and S3, everyone hates jack, and jack hates everyone. still havent seen the end of S3.

The U.S.  I found it on sale at Suncoast for $30.99.  Because I always comparision shop after I buy something, I found it even lower at Best Buy for $24.99.  This was only the first season at that price, though.

Armin Van Buuren made a remix to the 24 theme song. If you're into trance, its a must! (its called "24 - the longest day" ). Highly recommended.

about season four, do you guys like the new characters? personally i've not taken to eren or to the others very well, maybe i'm just too used to the old characters i loved.  i watched all the other seasons and now that the only character other then jack that they've kept is chloe (the one i hated) i have gone off 24!

DAMN IT!!!!

I like Edgar, probably because he's the most "realistic" of the main male characters. Also, he played a very similar role in season 2 of "The Sopranos."

well i dunno about that and i dunno if there is a soprano's thread on peel but i'll ask- what kind of role was it and is the soprano's a show you'd reccommend? honestly i've never seen it!

I'd recommend the first 2 seasons of The Sopranos, after that it gets a bit spotty.

The same actor plays a federal agent who wires a mobster for information. He turns the character into a rat in order to take down Tony Soprano. (I'm being intentionally vague as not to ruin the surprise.)

Best post ever.

24 rules very hard.  I got hooked on it the beginning of last year.  It's a real occasion around my house.  This new season rocks, even though I see every plot development coming ten minutes ahead.

Which is an eternity in 24 time.

Thanks.  After the first five minutes I called my brother and thats exactly what I said when he picked up.

Man I thought this week's episode was going to be kind of weak because of all the action of the last episode, but I was wrong.  I was thinking man I thought those flashlights that didn't need bateries were breaking technology, but then I saw that flashlight that turned into a silencer.  I love 24, there is always something you don't expect.

24 is a good show, but I've booted it out of my lineup of things to watch.  I can't even catch up on the three week backlog of Friday night Sci-Fi stuff I have on tape.  There's no room for poor 24.

Season 5 is awesome so far.  I started watching 24 with the beginning of Season 4, so good.
The first 4 hours of this season were amazing.  I taped them because I didn't have time to watch when they aired, then I watched them all in a row, stayed up until 2am to finish it (the night before an English midterm [got an A]), couldn't stop and not know what happened.
