Idiot.
Yeah it was cool but I only saw a few of them and it never was repeated much.
I liked his guest appearance on The Simpsons though.

It was great - so very suited to Lovitz.  I wish I could find episodes.

I remember him. I saw it in a friend 's house on pay TV once. It was a long time ago though, but I remember it was quite funny.
I also liked his guest role in the Simpsons.

From what I know, Matt didn't like being forced to do a Simpsons/Critic cross-over. That episode, "A Star is Burns", is the only Simpsons never to have Matt's name attached to it. Which is funny, because the episode is quite good. I can understand, though, how he wouldn't want to do some stupid cross-over that might make both shows look bad.

It's also a shame that the Simpsons cross-over didn't help the Critic much. I think it was cancelled later that season.

I think I saw it on TV many years ago, or maybe it was a commercial.  I don't remember if it was any good though

Jon Lovitz, great.  The show was all right, but not stellar.  The stories tended to be uneven, and they got stuck in some basic plot lines.  Still, a half hour of Lovitz is equal to the best five minutes of any sitcom on television.  And Lovitz and Hartman together, talk about magic.

Looky here!

I've found a couple eps through various filesharing places, but not the one I really want to see (Siskel & Ebert & Jay & Alice).  I hope the series gets a DVD release eventually.

I loved the Critic. I've seen a flash movie Critic episode on albinoblacksheep or whatever that site is called, somewhere. I wish I could figure out how to find stuff on that site. . .

That was hilarious in segment 3.

Jay:  I've also heard rumors that you're gay.

Pikachu:  Oh don't be rediculous.
(later)
Pikachu:  So....are you available this evening.   :laff:

And segment 2 should show Jay kicking Awnald's ass.

But seriously, this show kicked ass until the second season.  They do seriously need to make a set of the 2 seasons.  I mean, I'd get them.  I can never get enough of "Honey, I Ate the Kids!"

"I haven't seen them since lunch.  We had Faja beans and a nice kiantie."  "You ate the kids again?"  "Clarise, you don't look so well.  Let me take your temperature."  "That's a meat thermometer."  "O yes it is.  (Savoring)"

But let's not forget Jay's wedding moment in the dungeon.   :laff:

I miss The Critic. I forget the name of his one Australian friend, but I sware the voice of that guy is the same one as the Australian guy from Futurama.

Are you sure? I thought John Dimaggio did the Futurama Australian Guy. But of course Maurice LaMarche was a big voice-overy guy on both shows.

Never fear, Critic fans.  There is a place where we can let out our interest in this show. It's called Coming Attractions.

The Critic DVD to be releashed February 2004.

From the mouth of co-creater Mike Reiss, looks pretty final.

Haa, I love this show.  It was stellar.  I remember I had seen all of the episodes at least two or three times, but I couldn't believe it when I found out a while ago that there apparently were only ever like - twenty-something episodes? - that blew my mind.  I thought there were way more than that.

The Easter Island guy made me laugh every time.

Didn't the Easter-Island-head guy turn up at some point in/during the marathon, too?  Or perchance not.

I remember the one time when he was riding a bike or some such..

Anycakes,

That Easter Island Head guy (or his son actually) tried to do sit ups in gym once lol... He tried and then fell back and his head smashed to pieces, that was funny :laff:

As much as I'd hate to bump an ancient thread... *Bump!*

Anyway, I started watching The Critic on YouTube a few months ago, and I must say it's much better than I expected it to be. The whole concept of the show is very clever and original, and I think it deserved to last more than two seasons. It actually had good critical reception (which doesn't surprise me at all), but lacked ratings.

Also, I've seen a few of the webisodes, and they're pretty good too.
