Yes, evan, you're right.  He does appear as Samurai Andy in the film.  I think I might have seen him in the parade scene, but if it was him, he's only on the screen for about a second.  I need to watch that movie again.

Klumsy, the movie takes place after "Cowboy Funk" but before "Brain Scratch".  Like most episodes of the show, however, the movie is pretty much self-contained, so it doesn't really matter.

Attn nerds!! I need opinions.

Samurai Champloo: what do you think? I just saw a DVD containing the first four episodes at Walmart last night. It's directed by that Watanabe guy who directed Cowboy Bebop, but there's no Yoko Kanno music.  :(

Still, I had to buy it. I haven't watched any of it yet, but I thought I'd come here and see what the general nerd consensus is before I go home and watch it and have my heart broken when I find out it's not as good as Cowboy Bebop.

So! ...is it good? How does it compare to Cowboy Bebop?

FJ:
I haven't seen it, but it must be pretty damn good to compete with Bebop.

Also, I lost my Bebop tapes. Which sucks.

Man. Nothing? You guys suck at being nerds.

...anyway, I watched the first two episodes. The show has my approval. I like the characters, I like the animation. The story doesn't seem as full of potential as Bebop, but I'm willing to see it through.

Boy do I miss that sexy Bebop soundtrack, though. The crazy japanese hiphop works well enough for the fight scenes, but nothing is as cool or memorable as the Bebop soundtrack.

FJ: Samurai Champloo does indeed rock. Story wise, it's same as Bebop, lotsa mini stories with the main story being shoved at the end of the series. The quirkiness of champloo might be a turn on/off depending how you like your anime.

Personally, I think it's better than Bebop, but since the series has yet to run its course, I'll just keep my comments at that.

Here's a better one.

Cartoon Network has started showing Samurai Champloo.  I've seen the first four episodes.  It seems pretty cool so far.

A couple of weeks back my friend told me about this, and I trusted him enough to just go wildy buy the DVD without having seen any of the episodes.

But man, this show rocks, I LOVE IT! I just watched the last episode, it was the Shizznozzle!

The whole dvd dealio is just super sexy, I wish it came with a poster or something though..I need to find me a good Bebop poster...

I'll have to check out the movie and that Champloo thing.
