Difficult.
John Cleese used to be one of my favourites until he sold out to all those crappy American shows. Same with Eric Idle. I guess Michael Palin is one of my favourites. Chris barrie still owns you, he does excellent comedy. Actresses... hm. Julie Walters is good... and Jennifer Saunders is pretty damn good, too.

Also, John Malkovich's performance as Javert in Les Misérables was spectacular. It's acting like that which separates the great ones from the not so great ones (The Rock)  :)

Are you kidding? I would have maybe thought that too, but the guy has amazing scope. He comes in in places I would never have guessed.
a) Do you know the modern Batman cartoons? He's The Joker.
b) Do you know the very recent Woody Woodpecker cartoons (the ones with Billy West)? He's Buzz Buzzard too.
c) He was quite good on the Muppets as well.

What I'm saying is, that at least he hasn't just been playing Luke Skywalker contiously for the last 25 years, in fact I find it funny that he's done voices for several LucasArts video games, but has never redone his role of Luke Skywalker in any of them.

Anyay, like, totally amazing case over!

Who's my favourite actor?
Probably a tie between Kevin Spacey and Tommy Lee Jones. Other favourites are very long in the list, but in particular Sammy L Jackson, Robert Carlyle, Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, Guy Siner, Kenneth Colley, Sean Bean, Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Michael Palin, Peter Sellers...oh the list is far too long...

Favourite actress?
That list is too long too.

Thierry Lhermitte?
Are you an American? How did you know that guy?

He's a great french actor.

But my favourites actors list would include:

Steve Buschemi
John Turturro
Jack Nicholson
John Goodman
John Cusack
Bruce Willis in 12 monkeys
Dominique Pinon (Amelie, Alien 4, city of lost children...)

well the full list would be far too long.

Yes, I'm American, but my girlfriend is French, so in the past couple of years, I've seen more French movies than the rest of my life combined. My favorite Lhermitte film has to be Le Diner de Cons, but Un Indien dans La Ville is pretty nice, too. As long as we're talking 'bout French actors, though, I'd have to say that I really like Jean Reno, too. Just saw Le Rivieres Peuples, he's awesome in that.

Zed, have you seen that Muppets episode lately - I have it on DVD and it's probably the worst piece of acting I've EVER seen.  The running gag of Luke and Mark been cousins shows how truly bad he is at handling comedic roles.  It's a testiment to Lucas that he found Hayden (as bad an actor as Mark) and that Natalie Portman has to act badly to compansate for him.

I think he was trying to spell "The Little Mermaid".

Anyway, I agree with him. Whoever it was that voiced Flounder was amazing, one of the best actors I've heard in a while.
