Gollum. Still, kudos to all the CG artists involved. I know how hard that shit is to pull off successfully.

Treebeard.

Ents are my favourite LotR character. I was reading 'The Return of the King' 20 minutes ago in fact. Quickbeam, Treebeard... I love them all...

Gollum Owns you,And Jar-Jar-Bink's chance of winning this poll is about the same as a certain Terrorist Leader becoming a born again Christian.

I didn't like the Ents that much.
I haven't seen Harry Potter.

We votes for Gollum.

Edit: Why does almost every character have some speech impediment or grammar problem?

Yoda talking in sentences with reversed or mixed up word order, slow talking Ents, split personality Gollum that refers to himself as "we", Jar Jar, ...

Gollum gets my vote.

Gollum was great. He did not only look good (for a CGI character), he also had more personality than the rest of the cast.

I thought the Ents were cool. The Flooding of Isengard was one of the greatest scenes I have ever seen in cinematic history.
By the way, who would you think will win at the Oscars for Best Visul Effects: Attack of the Clones or The Two Towers?
I think The Two Towers because it got so many critical acclaim and it's the BIG movie of the season. Attack of the Clones it's long forgotten for the Academy members. Also Richard Taylor(sculpturer,make-up guy, miniature artist, costume designer and practically everything that WETA Workshop did for the trilogy) said that AOTC had many great effects but no emotions. In TTT you see how a tree is sad by the death of its friends, you see how a tortured creature talks to himself, for God's sake even a red eye makes you almost wet your pants. While in AOTC what you see is a bunch of stuff who looks like robots or aliens or something. And I believe that. But what do I know, maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?

I honestly admit I voted for Jar Jar, only because my friends started a "Messa Evil Jedi" bit because of Jar Jar's role in Ep 2. Imagine Jar Jar as a Dark Lord of the Sith. Go on, it's funny!

I have to go with Gollum.... masterfully done CGI. They did it the smart way too, with motion capture and having a real person jump on Frodo/splash down the stream/creep around, etc, then covering him up with Gollum. Yoda gets second prize. He's very good. Just not quite as good. Treebeard and the other ents, while detailed and nifty... don't seem to be as difficult to animate, due to their nature. Being treefolk, they don't have so much articulation, they're expected to move stiffly, etc.
But yeah, I wanted more Ent screen time. You could tell from reading the books that Tolkein had fun with the ents.
And anything from Harry Potter should probably be dragged out into the streets, shot, and then deleted from every hard drive on earth.

edit - as for JarJar. Let's just say I liked seeing him play the role he did in AOTC. Short, but it lets you know that he is bound to suffer worlds of mental anguish for the rest of his life, when he realizes what he's done.
