Sky 1 is showing too much Simpsons I think they need to show less of them and not like 4 hours a day.

Wrong! It's FOX that keep the Simpsons for money, merchandise and stuff.
This 'name a show that's been going for 14 years and has a huge fan-base' isn't a good argument. They keep churning out episode after episode, that get watched only because The Simpsons has a reputation.
If The Simpsons suddenly became unprofitable, it would die instantly. FOX don't give a crap about popularity, they care about if a show makes them money.

What they gotta do is stop thinking of episodes that can fit in stars and start thinking of regular plot lines. And they can still be zany or weird... eg. The Carney episode was bizarre but good.

Yeah your right. I think. Sorry. But Matt Groening, still makes them. He's probably got a contract. But he should stop agreeing to do them, because his ideas for the simpsons are gone.

another thing I hate about what Sky 1 doing is like they show two episodes of The Simpsons then they show Malcum in the middle, King of the Hill, Futurama (Or whatever) then they show The Simpsons again. It's kind of annoying.

You want the PEELer's VS sky1, thats next door.

What chump has said is right, alot of the epsiodes in 11-12 which are at least watchable are the ones without guest stars, the one with REM in put them in so pointlessly and there was no need to have them in there.

I can't really see the show getting any better over time.  It's definitely a shadow of its former self.  Lately, I used to tape the new episodes until I realized I don't watch them again.  I really hope Greoning & crew work on a new project if Futurama doesn't pull through.

I've got some bad news, although I guess to some it might be good news... The Simpsons have just been renewed, as of yesterday, for another 2 Seasons. It was alreday confirmed for 15 Seasons, and now there will be at least 17. How much longer can this show last, how many accidents does omer need before he'll die?

Oh my...I honestly thought they'd end at 15! I think eventually The Simpsons will get really bad reviews and stuff and so die slowly...

Thanks for letting us know anyway Otis  :D

FazeShift, I hate to break it to you, but Krusty never came to Kamp Krusty.

Tonight's episode was 'okay', but 'okay' in the last five seasons wouldn't cut 'meh' during the Simpsons glory years. However, with Krabapple and Skinner finally getting married, it could be a sign that the staff wants to wrap this up soon.

Damn right Krusty came to Kamp Krusty.  He was in England getting a knighthood, got the news that the Kampers were ripping the place apart, and he showed up.

Krusty: Was it a nice hat?
Bart: Yes
Krusty: Oh my god!!!

One thing that occured to me, one of the reasons they have so many guest stars in recent episodes is because pretty much every Springfield character is milked dry.

The problem I've found more and more with The Simpsons is that they've replaced wit and satire with violence and surrealism. The episode with the jockeys, the pisstake of The Prisoner (how many Fox viewers would even have seen that show? Not the Glutton Bowl/Temptation Island demographic, I bet), Homer getting eviscerated by animals every other week... not funny. There's been a bit of a switch back to the 'old' Simpsons - a real-world situation given a unique comic twist - in the last year or so, but to be honest if I miss a new episode on Sky it's not the big deal it used to be.

(Besides, on Sky it'll be repeated 17 times within a couple of months, so what's the problem?)  :D

2 more seasons after Season 14 which is airing now? What the hell more stories can they do? Let's do an episode where Bart lets all the zoo animals free! I love the show, but come on, enough is enough.

Excuse me, but just cause the Simpsons have gotten increasingly zany, doesn't mean we have to run away.  I happen to like the zaniness AND SO DO LINGUO

I've noticed in the latest season (14), there's be a sort of attempt to swop back to more traditional storylines e.g Bart vs Lisa vs The Third Grade. However, these eps just don't seem to be able to pull it off like the Seasons 1 through 8 episodes. I will put in a minor defense, however, as The Simpsons is still much better than anything else on Sky (except Futurama  :D).

Another, slightly shallow point I suppose, is that the current animation and voicing style just grates on my nerves. It's hard to put my finger on it, but the drawing/voicing style of the 4th - 8th seasons is much preferable to me than the current style - does anyone else know what I'm talking about, or am I just rambling?  ;).

I'm sorry but it seems like your in deniel. Seriously the simpsons has lost the whole family thing and is just pumping out crap. They characters seem to act as if they are are just friends. Not a family, with KIND OF realistic situations. Its just a bunch of ridiculas storylines about 4-5 people.

Besides the simpsons and Futurama Sky have crap all programs.
Sky is just a clone of Fox, I was in the US for about 4 months during the summer and the same crap that was on Fox then is now being shown on sky

I think they should start killing off characters, when a character dies it usually generates some interest, they got hundreds of characters so they got plots for a few more hundred episodes

heres my take on the simpsons now
the show used to be a satire, full of wit and intelligently mocking the american way. now it has become another repetitive predictable sitcom where stupidity and the american way are glorified.
i just cant bring myself to watch it any longer.

Anyway yeah, the Simpsons suck. But I don't think Futurama had anything to do with it...the show was showing signs of slipping way before that.
