You know, we've argued about the films, now the Bond, in poll form. Which bond do you rate as being the best?
In my opinion it is only between Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan (maybe including Roger Moore). Anyway, the number in brackets equals the number of films.

I vote Pierce Brosnan.

Poll from the paper.

I sense a lockin'.

IBTL Dance.

You Only Live Twice should be on that best movie list, instead of Live And Let Die.

Well, it's got to be Connery (definitive), but I've grown up with Roger Moore being James Bond, so he comes a close second.

Ok, also fill in the paper's poll the way you would. That's one answer of your choice.

Well, Scotsman clad in kilt left the bar one evenin' fair
one could tell by how he walked that he'd drunk more than his share
He fumbled round till he could no longer keep his feet
then stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
bout that time two young 'n lovely girls just happened by
one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
"See a sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built"
"i wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt"
They crept up on the sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
and there the whole world there could view beneath his Scottish skirt
was nothin' more than God had graced him with on his birth
They marveled for a moment, then one said "we must be gone"
"Let's leave a present for our friend before we move along"
As a gift they left a blus ilk ribbon tied into a bow
'round the mighty spot the kilt when lifted showed
Now Scotsman woke to nature's call, stumbled towards a tree
behind a bush he lifts his kilt and gawks at what he sees
then in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes
"Oh, lad I don't know where ya been, but I see ya won first prize"!

I think Sean Connery is the ultimate James Bond.  Pierce comes in second place. It is rumored that after Pierce Brosnan does one last James Bond movie-- set for fall 2005-- Clive Owen will take the role of Bond.

Did i read somewhere they weren't having him for this Bond film or did i get confused and this will be his last and they'll find a new one after him.

I think Brosnan's a great Bond, he re-kindled the Bond series with Goldeneye.

I think Connery is most enjoyable. It's because of the coolness factor. He was the one that gave Bond a lot of quirks and his movies were the ones where they dared to make him funny so it didn't seem like the movie took itself seriously.
The other Bond movies (especially the new ones) just had all these absurdly spectacular situations and nothing pointed in the direction that this wasn't completely serious. The charm of the whole Bond-concept goes to hell without the funny situations.

Did you know?: Many people agree that - although Connery was the best for the movies - Timothy Dalton was more similar to the Bond from the original books.

For me, it's a tie between Connery and Brosnan.
If you go by who's a more respected actor in Hollywood, I'd say Connery, but if you're going by who portrayed Bond better, I think it's Brosnan.
O...K...Brosnan.

Connery was great. So is Brosnan. But Moore has always been my favorite. I vote Moore.

Oh, and by the way...Connery did seven Bond films...not six.

Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever and Never say Never Again.

Never Say Never Again wasn't an "official" Bond film, so he only did 6 official ones.

And Never Say Never Again was essentially a remake of "Thunderball".

As posted in the other thread, I think Connery is the best, although Brosnan comes close.

I voted for Connery, becuase he was an excellent Bond, but people look on him more favourably because he was the first mive Bond, so hence the later ones are judged by the spin Connery put on the character.
I thought Dalton also did an excellent job, and I was tempted to vote for him.

Maybe Brosnan does the job quite well but he does it without the underlying sense that this is not to be taken so seriously. But maybe we owe this to the script writers.

I actually heard buzz that Hugh Jackman was being looked at as the next Bond.

At any rate, I did read that Brosnan claimed that the last debacle (Die Another Day) was his final Bond film.

Its dalton - most beleivable and had that cutting edge - Living daylights is my favourite, its just a pity he got license to kill which is an awful script  - similar to lazenby in many ways, nobody likes him because he was in OHMSS which was a tough story to carry despite him IMO doing a good job
