Post your "Favorite Cartoon/Anime Couple"!
Any number of couples (or whom you think should be couples), any cartoon or anime, as long as its animated.
Add the shows name so's not to confuse us, And if your so inclined maybe a descript, hell if you like go ahead and go on a tangent about how perfect a couple they are (or could/should be) ...

Well I guess I should start off:

Fry/ Leela . Futurama(duh!)
Tenchi/ Ryoko . Tenchi Muyo
Gohon/ Videl . Dragon Ball Z
Gatsu/ Caska . Berserk
Vegeta/ Bulma . Dragon Ball Z

Thats all I can think of at the moment   :p
I have listed them in order of most favorite   ;)

Okay, we all know that Fry/Leela's going to be on everybody's list, so let's all take that as a given, k?

In Order As They Come To Me,
1. Shinji Ikari/Asuka L. Soryu (Neon Genesis: Evangelion). The ultimate Anime couple, no matter what anyone else says. Fans of NG:E know this is true. Shinji and Asuka behave completely honestly with how their character designs work. Shinji's too embarrassed/cowardly to admit his feelings for Asuka, and Asuka's too proud and too much of a braggart to be seen with a wimp like Shinji. But, still, you know that they love each other (or at least feel strongly for each other) by the time End of Evangelion rolls around.

2)Spike Speigel/Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop). An odd choice, cuz they aren't a formal couple, but they follow the same pattern as Shinji/Asuka in that they put up a facade of hatred in order to mask their true feelings. Classic. If Spike wasn't so drawn towards Julia, you know he would have settled with Faye. Faye realizes this in Ep. 26. Great stuff.

3)Vegita/Bulma (DBZ). Notice a trend? Couples who hate each other. This is more a stand in for a Vegita/Trunks father-son relationship, but I do think that Bulma is a good representation of the same ideas that Trunks does in the Cell Saga.

4.)Homer/Marge Simpson.(The Simpsons) Should I even tell you why?

5.)Krillin/Andriod 18 (DBZ). I think I mentioned this somewhere else, but he sacrifices his chance to save the world for her. And, ultimately, because of this, he watches her die as well as many of his friends.

Edit:
6)Andy French/Gwen (Mission Hill). This just popped into my mind, and I'm too lazy to justify it. Kinda hard tho, cuz they're never a 'couple' during the short run of the show.

Lilo and Stitch: a cute girl with her cute pet.

Leela/Fry: I'm not explaining why because I have done at great length in other threads
Tenchi/Ryoko: Well it seems obvious to me
Shinji Ikari/Asuka Langley Soryu: There both pretty f*cked up (especially in End of Eva) and it just seems right.
Parn/Deedlit: Abit more obvious in Chronicals of the heroic knight than in the OVA.
Vash/Merrle (spelling): Towards the end of Trigun it seems obvious
Well if  I think of more I'll get back to you.

I agree with most of them but Spike and Faye... did you see the series? Spike really had no intrest in Faye, he had Julia. The group in Bebop was a family, which is much harder and more interesting and harder to do. I thought that there might be something with Jet and Faye.

I like Takahashi's couples, Godai and Kyoko, Kagome and Inu Yasha, etc.

Homer and Marge, great married couple and funny as hell.

From Slayers Lina and Gourry are great for never getting together and shying away from the issue.

One Anime couple I can not stand is Beldandy and Keiichi from Ah My Goddess. They have been together for 3 years, have pleaged undieing love for each other yet they don't hug, kiss each other or any other phyiscal contact. It is the only Manga series I know of where the couple seems to get further apart as the series goes on. I don't wan't it to become a Hentai but I want to see some normal interaction between the couple.

Since I dont like anime over much, these are they.

Daria and Tom: It was a bit of a turbulent start with these two, as Tom was Jane's boyfriend, and Daria had an initial crush on Trent, but it all turned out well in the end. Ahhhh!

Peter and Lois Griffin: Theyre married, and funny. Why else?

Like what I said for Shinji/Asuka...it's completely one-sided affair. When Faye tries to stop Spike from, well, the end...(I'm not going to give away the series), I thought it was obvious that there was at least *something* between the two of them. True, as long as Julia is there, Spike's going to be completely focused on her, but in a world that there never was a Julia, I think he might have been drawn more towards Faye.

Oh, and on the Jet/Faye thing. It's there, but there's no more concrete evidence between that at Spike/Faye. This may just be interesting trivia, but when Faye escapes the hospital after she's de-frosted in her flashback, one source claims that the ship she tries to flag down is in actuality Jet's "Hammerhead". Imagine how that would have turned out....

Tenchi/Sakuya. Although Sakuya is really one of Yuugi's alter egos, Sakuya was real sweet and down-to-earth as to capture Tenchi's interest more than the Masaki girls. It was sad to see Tenchi walk in too late (and ignore Ryoko's warning) only to see Yuugi recapture Sakuya. And their final battle leads to one of the most interesting endings seen in a Tenchi show.

Sadam and Satan from South Park. I can just picture them togther in hell in real life.

Okay let's jsut say I don't agree. Sakuya was created fore Tenchi by Yugi to tear their family apart, she was made to be Tenchi's ideal girl. Although this is true Tenchi still got distracted his feelings still by a certain indervidual and a picture from their datre. Perhaps this would be better to be dicussed in the Tenchi thread.

I studied the culture of anime in graphics. All it is is a big cliche, a super-stereotype of itself and of traditional western animation. Not that it's a bad thing, it's quite an interesting subject, actually.

Anyway, it's obvious those two team rocket ones were at it every second the camera was off them.

Anime may not of been around for long but it's predecessor has been around for hundreds of years. Manga was used to dipct battles and such.
If anime is a copy of westen I really don't care because they do a better job on the whole compared to some of the crap coming out of America right now.
After that rant I read some where that in one of the Pokemon movie's Team Rocket's child come's back and does something so i quess it kinda proves that theory.

I saw Berserk... Great series but has the WORST ending of anything I have seen. Completely comes out of left field and betrays the entire series up to that point. It sort of worked in the Manga where it was part of a larger plot (but from what I have seen of the manga it isn't that good either) but in the TV series it just was a horrible way to end it.

Jane/Tom: Simply because they were much better together than he and Daria were.  They actually had a problem-free state in their relationship, whereas he and Daria always fought over something or other.  And yes, technically this doesn't count because they broke up, but if MTV hadn't cancelled the show, we all know things would've prolly changed once they went to college.  Okay, maybe not, but anyone who reads my current fanfic series knows there's something in the cards.

Fry/Leela:  Fl'uh!  We've all known since day one that something would happen.  And while it does seem a bit hopeless, you have to admire Fry's resilience.  It's very sweet and we know someday, it'll happen.  Even if it's only in our fanfics.  :SNIF:

Arnold/Helga: Aw...the original love n hate couple of cartoons.  LOL.  The outlook seems bleak that anything will happen, especially 'cos the dorks at Nick canned the second feature, but it's not like Arnold doesn't know Helga's infatuated with him.  I think his sly smile at the end of the movie cancels out all doubts.

Can't you just feel the love in this thread???

Anyway Spike Spiegal/Julia: for the little time they were together in Bebop you could see that Spike really loved her. It's a shame they can never get together again though.
