Script got leaked out at AICN, and it sounds like that site did good. Fans online are so outraged that it looks like Warners is going to Scrap the idea (thank God).

Here is a link to the review http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=13350

For some reason it reminds me more of DBZ then anything, which is strange because DBZ is essentialy Anime Superman. I am so glad it is going to be scraped.

Thank God. I'm not that big of a Supes fan anyway, but just the very idea of a new Superman movie gives me shivers. Is Nicholas Cage still signed on to the project, or what that just some vicious rumor circulated by someone who hates life itself? AICN is usually pretty good with finding scripts and trashing them....let's just pray that this movie never comes to fruition.

In the comic he died and was brought back a couple times (same with Supes) thankfully when they make a movie of a comic they don't have to use all of the convaluted newer stories, they can just use the classic parts.

This superman movie ignored almost everything about the movie and had wierd things like a symbiotic costume, Krypton still surviving, and Luthor being a kryptonian. All things that completly destroy what was good about the story.

I tried to read about all the story elements with an open mind--kind of hard to do when Moriarty is telling you how crappy it is at every turn, but hey, I tried. I actually thought it wasn't bad, at first. Having Krypton not blow up could make for some interesting possibilities.

But damn, it sure fell apart in a hurry. My favorite part was when
.

Haha, that is so bad. Then again, is it really worse than the original Superman movie? I mean come one...the guy flies backwards around the world to travel back in time? What the hell kind of sense does that make? This script is just furthering the level of crappiness--you'd think fans would be pleased.

I guess it's like people who talk about the Scooby Doo movie "ruining" the franchise. Don't get me wrong, Scooby Doo was the crappiest movie to ever crap, but it didn't ruin anything. It just made you realize how crappy it's always been.

And also Batman. A lot of people complain about Schumacher ruining the movies, and of course I agree. But don't forget that Batman is a story about a man who dresses up like a bat to fight evil clowns and penguins.

Conan O' Brien: Yes, that's why decided to change his name from Superman to Sub-par-man.

Oh god...oh god...oh god...I'll admit that I hadn't actually read the script review by the time that I first posted...oh god....this is going to be bad.

Now, I'm not the biggest Superman fan there is, hell, I'm not that big of a comics fan period, but I can tell you this is going to piss off a lot of people. The insane little plot twists, the stupid little "updates" of the Superman mythos (I mean, c'mon, Kung-Fu Fighting Supes?!), all of this leads to a massive amount of crap. Plus, this could have been the most confusing piece of crap I've ever read in my life. I found this really, really stupid.

Stupid Things

I promise you I won't be seeing this. Honestly.

Don't worry Evan, it looks like there is such negative backlash that the movie will be stopped before they start shooting. Something similar happened with Batman and Robin, but that was during postproduction, the studio sees this and such horrible press can kill any movie. This is strange AICN actually did something usefull in the industry.

True, but this is not just any man, this man is filthy stinkin' rich!
It's like, "Oh no, we plebs can't defend ourselves, we need Mr Rich-guy to save us from all that is bad". Hello! Capitalist propaganda! Rich people = Good. People who stand up to the 'machine' (and may or may not dress up in strange costumes..) = Bad. Hooray for conformity and the class system, people!

Nah, mainly butt-pulled. It actually came to me after I read Fishy's post and had to go wash some dishes.
