Well now, it took them four episodes to make one that I didn't think was brilliant. I mean, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't quite as good as the first three. Still, my hopes are reasonably high for episode five!

This episode is originally supposed to be the third ep. No really, it was. Check the adult swim facebook page.

Fuck me, that Jelly Bean King was twisted as fuck. :laff:

Not the best episode so far, the Meeseeks' voices got quite annoying but I still enjoyed their storyline with the family more than Rick & Morty's adventure.

This was the first subpar episode of this series in my opinion. It wasn't that good.

Hopes... deleted. This was a decidedly average outing. I think that this show may have peaked in the second episode. I'll reserve final judgement until the end of the season, but that's my feeling right now.

Hopefully, this episode was subpar in order to make way for an even greater episode next week. Who the hell knows. I think my favorite so far is last weeks episode. That was some pretty damn fine writing.

The Meeseeks were probably my favourite thing about that episode - I have to admit, I lost it almost every time someone inserted "LOOK AT ME!" into a random point of their sentence. But, yes, it was definitely the weakest of the bunch so far. I didn't really care for Rick and Morty's plot at all (though it was nice to finally see Rick do right by Morty for a change).

This article really describes how I feel about Rick and Morty now.....

Also, the newest episode was probably the weirdest episode I ever saw. Like alot of sh*t happened.

Woah man, the end of that episode was really grim. But overall it was great, much better than last week's. Can't get enough of this show.

*edit*

A lot of people are talking about the ending (Rick & Morty burying their alternate universe versions) as if it's something that's never been done before, but all I could think about was obviously the end of "The Late Philip J. Fry". It was under different circumstances in TLPJF and there were no children involved, but still.

Ending was excellent and that self-ironic breaking the fourth wall was nice. It was basically simple plots until the end, but they were nicely connected and set up.

I like that the series still keeps surprising.

I still thought it was pretty good. I liked it, alot. That ending was really freaky though, honestly. Didn't see that coming from A MILE.

And actually, I showed this show to my pops. And he liked it.

Didn't see that coming from A MILE.

Sadly, I saw it as one of two possibilities that were likely from the moment that Rick's initial solution failed to work as expected (it was obvious that things were just going to get worse from that point). One of those was super-unlikely, and one of those seemed like a perfect fit.

I suppose that you have to think in a certain Rick-ish way in order to see what happened as a valid solution though. I saw it coming, but I'm still surprised by just how dark it was. Kinda makes you wonder how many times Rick's done that before, what with him making a point of saying that they can't use it too many more times as a fix for anything.

But as fucked up and grim as it was, it was solid entertainment. I still love this show.

I really want to enjoy this show, but the animation style feels kinda lame. To me it just seems like this type of animation is used far too frequently nowadays.  I enjoyed this type of animation when it was first used, but its initial effect has worn off and has left me tired of it.   :( Although I do plan to give the show another try soon.

I'm with Beamer...I'm not sure any other shows really pop into mind based on the animation alone. I'm not saying it has a particularly unique style, but it also doesn't overly remind me of anything else.

Yeah the animation seems pretty unique to me, a good example would be the characters' pupils.

The animation just seemed a lot like Cartoon Network shows like Adventure Time where every character is constantly flopping around their arms in really weird ways.  It also reminds me of something like The Oblongs for some reason.  I don't dislike this show, I just got kinda annoyed by the ragdoll-esque movememts of the characters.

Although I plan to watch some more, so this might change.

Only thing that bothers me with animation is those pupils. There's nothing specifically wrong with them, but they are too distracting and they stand out little too much.

Remember: Season 1 is only going to have 11 episodes. The sooner they air them, the longer a wait we have for more. I'm cool with them spacing it out.

Only thing that bothers me with animation is those pupils. There's nothing specifically wrong with them, but they are too distracting and they stand out little too much.

I kind of like the pupils. I'd say the most distracting thing about the animation would be the occasionally-vertical mouths that pop up from time to time.

Also, Rick Potion #9 is probably my favourite episode so far. Clever, inventive, original, hilarious, fucked up and really, reeeealllllly dark. I really hope the show continues down this route, because that was absolutely fantastic. :D

I know that. But I mean it still won't change the fact that Season 2 will probably AT LEAST take 6-8 months to make. And I'd much rather get the remaining episodes now, actually.

Keep in mind, this is an Adult Swim show, which is notorious for having a lot of it's shows having 2-4 year hiatus's between Seasons. Hopefully it won't end up being that long since they've already been renewed, but still, expect quite a wait.

The production schedule for most Adult Swim shows can be chalked up to the relatively independent production. They simply don't have the same resources as the big-budget major network animated shows. Given that Rick and Morty was first announced in mid 2012 and then premiered in late 2013, it appears their production schedule is a little tighter than certain other Adult Swim shows... I don't even think this show came to be until after Harmon was given the boot from Community, though I may be wrong on that one.

Rick reminds me of a drunk Doc Brown.
You're exactly right.

Here's the origin of this show. A parody of Doc and Marty from Back to the Future.

WARNING! NSFW!!
It's not just cursing or crap like that, but there's some sexual stuff. It's weird... but funny.

The story behind these cartoons is hilarious.

I instantly fell in love with this show from the first episode I saw. It was episode 4, which grabbed my attention because it reminded me a bit of Saints Row 4 with the simulation stuff. I was hooked from there and needed more.

The dialogue is great, and I'm not sure what everyone's talking about. I think the voice acting is fine. Not sure what the problem is supposed to be there.

Some people have a problem with the drunken belching and the ad-libbed nature of Rick's lines.

Personally, I think that adds to the atmosphere of the show, rather than taking anything away from it. This is without a doubt one of my new favourite things to watch.

It's just a midseason animation break in US TV scheduling, Danny. Archer is undergoing the same break, as are a handful of other animated shows.

We should get the rest of the season in a five-week block, with no breaks.

Well, that was during Christmas and New Years, so obviously they were going to have a break there. Don't worry, the rest of the Season should air normally without any breaks (unless AS wants to stretch it out for some reason).
