AJ and RD shouldn't be wearing skirts. >< And it troubles me to know they've given RD pink to wear... and lipstick... ugh, seriously, what have you done with my favourite character?

Also they still have pony ears *facepalm*

Stuff the movie. *waiting for season 4*

Not what I had in mind. Deviantart has loads of better designs. Like these:

http://trinityinyang.deviantart.com/art/Twilight-Sparkle-Pony-Human-323058860
http://trinityinyang.deviantart.com/art/Rarity-Pony-Human-331790754
http://trinityinyang.deviantart.com/art/Applejack-Pony-Human-323961000

And this is just one artist. This half-human/half-pony thing has been done a lot better too.

Completely agree Spacedal, I posted those exact designs myself on another forum as an example of what they could have done with humanizations instead of sexed-up miniskirts, knee-highs and lipstick all-round.

I find anthro/ furry stuff a bit creepy, so the fact they they still have their coloured fur, and pony ears & wings  makes them more than a little weird.

I think they've stuck with the same colour skin just to avoid racial stereotyping. I understand that.

I've heard about all this except the bit about high school. You have a source for that?

I have a headcanon and I will be sticking with it. RD is sporty, all my friends that are sporty wear running shorts all the time. AJ is a farmer and has been shown as the one that's the most practical and even sometimes less girly than RD, I don't believe dresses are all that practical. I would have thought she'd be the one wearing jeans.

Word out to Aussie Bronys: MLP has hit Minotaur.

The standard toys, blindbags and this shirt:

Which doesn't apply to me, cause I'm more inclined to watch Futurama than mlp.

On the website it appears they'll be bringing in some more mlp merch. (Website here)
... none of which appeal to me. Come on, where's the "20% Cooler" and cutie mark shirts? Feh.

le edit: THIS is something I would buy:

I like that when I enter into Netflix, it gives me the choice to go into regular Netflix, or the "Netflix Just for Kids" menu. On the Just for Kids button, there's a picture of one of the My Little Ponies. You hear that guys? Just for Kids. :p

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.”

Discovered a store along Little Collins Street in the Melbourne CBD called "Critical Hit". It's mostly game stuff, (the amount of Portal 2 stuff they have is epic), but there's some popular culture stuff there too. A few MLP bits a pieces there.

Minotaur updated their mlp stock too. Rainbow Dash keyrings and wallets galore!

I know of a large comic store in Bristol - will probably pop in on Thursday...need to check whether there's any Futurama comics out that I haven't got yet since they reserve them for me. I haven't seen any mlp merchandise there, or anywhere else for that matter. Wouldn't mind seeing some Portal stuff here or there. Despite its size though (or maybe because of it) the store is pretty mainstream when it comes to merchandise - mostly Star Wars and Doctor Who.

I don't know what to feel about the idea of mlp being considered "mainstream" for a comic-book store crowd.
Had thought about trying to find the mlp comics though; the general consensus appears that not only are they pretty well written, but they also are a bit more "grown-up". Still not sure whether I could bring myself to actually be seen buying them in public though.
That said, should I feel contempt placed upon me, I shall tell them that I have appeared in Doctor Who and that they shalt bow down before me and my mighty nerdly awe!!!!

So I may see if there are any deals on iTunes. :)

You should totally go sign the framegrab of the show you're in and sell them to the Doctor Who fans. Also, you should go in with the intention of buying a Doctor Who comic and "accidentally" pick this up instead:

Eterni; mire fun? Lol. Yesh, do that. And then once you've reached the end of season 3 you go back to watching Futurama because Futurama is returning sooner than mlp. Also, NCIS. NCIS is my current moment of marathon.

Actually I've been told by some of the guys I was working with that sometimes fans actually track extras down just for autographs. Money would be nice, but it's actually a bit scary to think about :hmpf:

Aha yes, the "gotta catch them all" cover variations. :p
The other problem with physically buying the comics is that they will appear in my bookshelf and I'm not sure my family would understand. As you all are apparently my "Leela friends" as far as my mum is concerned, that's a path I'd rather not tread again...

Thinking about it, I think my sis did have some little ponies, way back when. Hell Hay, she may have even had Applejack...

Went into the comic book store today and lo and behold I saw... some Portal 2 stuff! That and some models of the SSV Normandy. Nice idea, tempting in principle to have the Normandy or a little turret staring at me, but seriously, pay more for them than you would to buy the game(s)? Noooohohohoho thank you!

And oh yes, I saw some mlp comics!

Still couldn't bring myself to pick them up :(

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation, Graham, though I still do have a question:

Frida, don't spoiler for her!

Caterlot Wedding is most epic episodes, the fact that it's an actual fight scene is awesome. They should physically fight bad guys more often - even without their "elements" they're kickass.

Hoping in season 4 they flesh out Rainbow Dash's and Fluttershy's backstories. Also for RD to sing her own song, something in the genre of rock.

Zed; If they are actually in the comic book store, that means that people are actually buying them so you wouldn't be out of the ordinary there. If you really want to disown it you could ask if they do gift wrapping ;D

I love Canterlot Wedding so much; it's definitely my favorite! Eternium, I cried too! I felt ridiculous for that at the time, but now I feel better about it after hearing I'm not alone.

I agree about season 4 TLF; I'd love to see more of Rainbow Dash's back story especially, though. I do like her, but right now I think she's the least likable out of the mane 6 for me, so I'd like to have a better understanding of her.

Really? Dash is my absolute favourite. I can see how she can be unlikable because of her bluntness, insensitivity and obnoxiousness, but her heart's in the right place.

Speaking of toys, I did have 2 gen1 mlp toys, but they're buried somewhere in boxes at my parents house. I wasn't interested in mlp when I was a child, it was too girly even for me, I prefered to watch stuff like Thomas the Tank Engine and 'Round the Twist.

As for now, I think my at least 3 of my fandoms are showcased in this picture:

le edit: mlp personality test anyone?

le second edit: Strange, last time I took that test I was predominately Pinkie Pie with Twi and Dash a close 2nd and 3rd. This time I was predominatly Dash, just beating out Pinkie Pie (Twi as 3rd).

So you're fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Futurama (spuh!), and... NCIS?

No Applejack, Pinkie Pie, or Fluttershy figures I see...

I took that personality test before, but I couldn't remember the results. So I just took it again, and it said I was most like Applejack (I like Applejack- she's one of my favorites and I am so down with the element of honesty). It almost looked like I was more of a Rainbow Dash according to my results, and I was barely a Pinkie Pie. Which is too bad, Rainbow Dash is my least favorite of the mane six and my personality is probably most like Pinkie Pie ("Smile" is like my favorite song!).

I enjoyed taking that personality test, and love the easter egg at the end.

However, I prefer the MBTI personality test to gauge what pony I am more like. If you participated in the brony census posted on Equestria Daily, then you were asked to take a version of the test. I was with the herd and I have an introvert-intuitive-thinking-judging personality. And my preference for that test over others has nothing to do with lining up with Princess Celestia's personality.

Image is in spoiler tags due to size.

Behold my NCIS dvd collection! Yes. Also, you can see the top of my Dr Who screw driver I stuck to the side of my computer, if I had widened the shot, my lightsaber pen would be visable on the other side. My workstation is also a geek station.

I haven't managed to get them yet, blind bags are annoying - I demand to know what's in them! I want the rest of the mane six and some particular bg ponies would be nice as well.

I used to see a lot of RD love and now I'm seeing all the RD hate, what gives?

Is the test still available to take? I didn't take that particular brony test (must've been a time I wasn't connected to the internet), but I've taken that type of test before.

I remember I had trouble with one question because I liked 2 options equally and couldn't chose.

The result of the test relied on me making a choice, I had to "rock paper scissors" because I couldn't chose (result: INFP) but if I could chose both, I would balance between INFP and ENFP - Between Luna and Pinkie Pie. Both of the descriptions apply to me, so why can't I have both? Although I've been told my "introvert" side is an effect of having being bullied at school... actually now a lot of this is starting to make sense x_X and I'm finding connections to both Luna and PP now, I'm totally mind blown. Well now you know what you get if you cross Luna with Pinkie Pie.  :p

Has anyone else done a MBTI personality test? It'd be fun to find out.

This post took longer than it should have to create...

edit: so long in fact, I forgot I was going to add something else: I'd hate to be the person who's ENTJ, although people who are ENTJ probably are happy to be ENTJ xD

I've taken the MBTI several times and have gotten either INTJ or ENTJ; I'm definitely going to go with my INTJ side this time, as I really don't want to be Trixie  :)

TLF, I really don't dislike RD at all; it's just that her arrogance and insensitivity make her the least likable of the mane 6 for me. I do love her loyalty to her friends, though, and I think she usually has the best lines.

I'm most like Applejack, which both delights me and surprises me. The quiz was surprisingly in-depth, though I fear having only six outcomes makes the analysis very broad.

Certainly some of the descriptions "very active, very hard working" I remember...not answering in the questions that covered them. I missed picking a preference for apples, cowboy hats, the colour orange and greeting friends with "Howdy!"
I think I even said I preferred Pegasi...

So in some respects I'm glad it was able to pick a solution without relying on the blatantly obvious, but there appears to be a high risk of merely stumbling towards a particular pony and that being enough.
Hay I'm not complaining though; I do identify with Applejack the most, whether or not primarily because I share her views on advanced mathematics and French fancy talk...

I think I've said that before...

See wheras I think characters that are the most far from perfect are the best characters, it's certainly why RD is quite often the character that has to learn something in an episode. I'm trying to suss out who your fave character is... Twilight?
