That special was quite formulaic. But, then again, this is Doctor Who...

Finally got round to watching it.
Was good. Ending was touching too. I'll post more about it tomorrow when I can be bothered...
One thing though, everything seems to be rushed. Madge just seemed to help the Doctor as if he was an old man wanting to cross the road. Really?
It's World War II. An explosion, A BOMB LIKE EXPLOSION, goes off right next to you, and instead of getting up and running away in a panic, you just look up slowly and think "I'm gonna go look at that possible bomb site where the bomb could still have a risk of exploding..."
And then, a spacesuit... Now, weren't scary sci-fi spacemen stories popular in the 40s and 50s? I would of shat myself. Not gone over like "Are you okay?"
Third, would you really ask that? A man just fell from bloody space and caused an explosion like impact. "My first thought: ask him if he's okay..."
Okay I could go on about this one scene, but I'll do it another time...

Star Trek TNG meets Doctor Who(Post is a tad too big) Launching in May, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION/DOCTOR WHO: ASSIMILATION2 will feature fan-favorite villains the Borg and the Cybermen as they create an unholy alliance resulting in potential disaster for all humanity. Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise find themselves joining forces with the Doctor and his companions, with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance. This eight-issue series will be written by Scott and David Tipton, the authors of critically acclaimed Star Trek: Infestation, with a helping hand from longtime Doctor Who writer Tony Lee, and will feature fully painted artwork by J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel). Fans are encouraged to ask their retailers about the rare wraparound photo cover. Plus, artist Joe Corroney (Star Trek Ongoing) will provide a variant cover featuring the Doctor and friends aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Featuring The Doctor, Rory, Amy, Captain Picard, Worf, Data, Geordi LaForge, Deanna Troi, Will Riker and the rest. And that this art, featuring the Doctor, Rory and Amy on the bridge of the Enterprise is a cover that will be used in the series. Doctor Who has never engaged in any such officially sanctioned crossover outside of the Doctor Who universe before. The closest was Dimensions In Time, a much derided charity telethon show which featured characters from the BBC soap opera Eastenders. Then there was Death’s Head who kinda popped in and out. Star Trek has also seen comic book crossovers with X-Men and the Legion Of Superheroes. But this is the first time that two such major competing TV sci-fi franchises have been allowed to merge in any way before.

Speaking of Harry Potter meeting Doctor Who.. Doctor Who series 7 filming began today at 2am, and on set was Mark Williams known most for his role of Mr Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter. At 4:44pm yesterday the Doctor Who filming crew where beginning to set up and prep for filming down Church Road, which is used as Amy and Rory's house. However Several reports stated they started filming at 2am down a totally different street, and was due to finish at 9am, however they was behind schedule and finished more near 11am. (TBC) Because of the nature of the location of the filming and the clothes Mark was reported to have been wearing on set, it is starting to become a very big rumor that Mark Williams will be playing Rory Williams's father. Mark Williams who has been seen on set of Doctor Who series 7 took a photo with someone called Grace Jenkins earlier today, and it allowed us to see his costume.
