when homer confessed to killed that old maid even though he didnt to get marge out of the death chair, I started tearing   :(   :p

I mean cmon, wasnt that like the sweetest and most thoughtful thing homer has ever done?  I was like in such an awwwe when that happened in a show that has sucked for the last 3 years.

and on a side note, the ending really sucked...I dont want to sound egotistical, but I could have come up with a better ending.

Heck, if the roof blew off the building to save homer from the chair and then something happened to show how homer was innocent would have been more believable than "the game show"

also, that bug thing was lame  :D

ok, im done.

I'm sorry, but I thought the episode blew. The execution bit (especially the two priests fighting) was OK, but the start and the end just plain sucked.

I didn't see the show. Not because I didn't care, I wanted to see how the season will come to a close. But I was at work.

Sounds lame, just like most of the new ones are, I won't bother looking foward to it.

I used to look forward to The Simpsons every week, but now I just catch it sometimes. The beginning of the season was good, but things have gone downhill since then. The ideas are lacking, so we get things like a family member becoming a cop (haven't seen that one before!    )

An idea, maybe the Simpsons should grow up? IE, the kids grow older, as teenagers it can open the door for a huge amount of new stories - they don't have to be corny and all teenage struggles whatever but they're currently trying to cram too many shows into a limited spectrum. It's time to move on slightly.

I really doubt that this will happen, this is not even a suggestion - just a thought.

I wont pretend to like the idea of them growing up, especially if "Bart to the Future" is anything to go by. I'm not against the idea though, I'm sure it wouldn't get any worse than it is at the moment, would it?

I hate to judge things that I haven't even seen, but oy...based on Jon's description, that sounds like the worst episode ever.

Was it really the season finale though? I thought it was supposed to be next sunday, one week after The X-files.

One more thing: making the kids grow up would be lame. Doing it in the glory years MAY have been ok(although it still sounds lame), but right now it would just look like a desperate attempt to make the show "fresh" and "hip". Sort of like Roseanne's final season, where they win the lottery. Or the Cosby Show/Full House adding more kids to the cast, since everyone else stopped being cute.

What's up with you guys? This episode was pretty good. I mean, some of the Season 13 episode's plots were whack, but they were handled niceley, especially with the controversial marijuaina plot. "Meals on Wheels! Eat up, or I go to jail!" This episode wasn't great, but good.

Well like I said, I didn't actually watch the episode. But it's about Homer becoming a cop(have the writers even SEEN the show before?), and apparently it takes a bunch of wacky turns involving Marge getting the death penalty for killing an old maid. And the "emotional" punch is that Homer admits to killing an old maid, even though he didn't. Hmmm.

Did they do the classic Scully-era gag of pointing out how lame they are? Driving the point home, just in case we don't get it?

Marge: You're a cop? But *I* was a cop!
Homer: You weren't a cop.
Marge: Yes I was. Seven seasons ago!
Homer: I think I know your own life, Marge.
Comic Book Guy: Worst episode ever.
Lisa: Comic Book Guy, you're echoing the opinions of our fans in a sly self-parody.
Comic Book Guy: Worst episode ever.

See, I should be writing this crap.

Nah, Homer becomes a cop in the next episode apparently. In this one they both get sentenced to death for killing a rich old lady yadda, yadda, yadda. In short, it sucks.

I saw previews for the next new Simpsons. Jeremy is right, there will be a new one next Sunday. The clip shows Homer in the house with some kind of army uniform. I didn't hear the plot, but it looks bad.

Actually, the few episodes I have seen from Season 13 haven't been that bad. The one where Homer had his mouth wired shut was good, and the one where Moe goes back to barschool wasn't too bad until Homer shot Moe in the leg.

Ok, I saw the 'true' season finale yesterday, and at the end I was kind of disappointed. Most of the show was really good, actually. A citywide blackout causes a riot, while the police force was inept in controlling it. Homer does a good job mention the myriad number of jobs he had (though I don't think homophobe should count) before starting SpringShield, the new security force of Springfield.

Skip to the end, Fat Tony gets pissed at Homer for busting him and I thought this part was sweet. He and his mob ride down the streets of springfield to the theme of 'The Sopranos'. That was pretty cool. What was lame is how Homer got saved from the mob: by Maggie! She had a rifle, shooting from atop her crib, reminiscing the time she shot Mr. Burns.

Overall, it was a great episode, but with a serious downer at the end.

The ending was the best part.   :D

Don't screw with Maggie.   :p
