My God, this show is so underrated on here. I sense some hostility over Futurama being canceled and people projecting it at this show because it stayed on the while Futurama didin't.

I love it, because it captures real life so well, and pretty humorusly at that. It's not the big political things it adresses that I like so much as the social and life issues and stuff like that.

Its ok. I hated it at first, but my brother and my father loved it. So when it came on FX, I gave it a chance. I think most of the episodes are ok, but there are only a few that I think are hilarious. Like when Bobby takes that women's self defense class or when Bobby starts hanging out with that extreme christian group (Praise Him!). So overall I gave it an ok+1. I think the only reason why it is still on, is that it's simple. Futurama's jokes were subtle, so not a lot people got them. This is the only logical reason I can justify its existence and Futurama's cancellation.

More evidence that people here still think King of the Hill was a factor in getting Futurama canceled or that KOTH got preferencial treatment. Some of King of the Hill's jokes are pretty subtle as well and it's still on (not for long though).

People need to stop equating KOTH with Futurama's cancelation and getting pissed off at the show simpily because it's still on the air and Futurama isn't.

I don't think KOTH was a factor of Futurama's cancellation. I was trying to think of a reason why it is still on, when Futurama is cleary a better show.

I agree, but the reason is because FOX hated the show from the beginning and purposly put where the majority of people wouldn't be able to find it so it'd get bad ratings. KOTH had nothing to do with it so there's no reason to bring KOTH into that discussion.

Nobody hates it because Futurama is cancelled (or do they...   :p ), some people just don't like it because it's boring at times.

I got to admit this, but I liked last night's new episode.  The Drag Queen character was very well developed, unlike other new characters they usually introduce.  I'm hoping that since Hank never finds out that the guy and woman are one in the same, that they'll bring this character back.

2007 is the year of returns.  KOTH, Kim Possible and the Futurama movie.

I like how the Hills are oblivious to the obvious characteristics of people.  It was really similiar to the time where she met that prostitute and was dressing like one at the library.

I enjoy King of The Hill.  First, any show that Mike Judge (the creator & main voices of Beavis & Butthead) is involved in merits my attention.  Also, they went for a unique set up on the show; as far as I can see, they didn't copy another show for quick ratings.  Lastly, I enjoy the oddball characters (like Bill & Boomhauer) and plots (Tyraniak mentioned the crack fishbait episode; that's my favorite KOTH episode).  Any show that can get someone like Brad Pitt to do an out of left field voiceover (Boomhauer's brother, Patch; you wouldn't know it's Brad Pitt unless you saw the credits) is alright with me.

I never liked it. I never understood it.
I could never laugh and not even smile when seeing it. What was the point of this show?

So lame.

This season of KOTH has been odd.  They killed off Cotton Hill, one of my favorite characters.  Honestly, I thought the episode lacked a few things.  I call it gutsy for them to kill off a popular character with logic that he was old, but they didn't have his wife or his baby son appear.

Last night's episode was pretty decent.  It's nice to see them develop the character of Minh. She usually gets pushed aside for Khan or Connie.

Bumped thread, eh?

I love KotH - I don't obsessively love it like I do for a few other shows, but I watch it every day and am generally highly entertained by it. It's much more subtle humour, but I'm somebody who appreciates that, but above all appreciates good stories and wonderful characters - which KotH has (and their little changes every few years, like Peggy's jobs or Bobby and co. aging a little). I just think it's a great show, and hilarious in its own way.

As for this season... Well, I can't comment as a whole because I haven't seen EVERY KotH episode don't have an encyclopediac knowledge like I do for some other favourites, but there have been quite a few Bobby/middle school plots. But the season opener was fantastic, killing Cotton off shocked me and is the first time I've really observed (and been affected by) a character's death (but I thought the episode was fairly well-done regardless, aside from that whole Didi/G.H. bit, yeah...), and I really liked last night's episode since Minh is agreat character and was used wonderfully.

It's a good, severely underrated show.

I think the past few years KOTH has been way better than the Simpsons.

I agree, it can be VERY hit or miss. The recent one with the health food store was awesome with a priceless ending. Others...eh....Dale is a great chacacter though, but I dont really like the whole texas culture thing. But yeah...hit or miss...ok+1

I do have a question.  Why do KOTH fans hate the character Lucky?  I actually like the character, but I'm surprised that other people don't.  Why is that?  Is it because he's married to Luanne?  I have no problem with that.  I thought he helped to develop Luanne, but not just being the "dumb blonde".  I got no problem with people not liking him, but I'm just curious as to why is that.

I still love it.  It's like having an Uncle Bob in the family.  He's not spectacular, but he is family and you love him and his family.  And then there is Uncle Homer... They are family, been around so long that the issue is not what they are but that they just... ARE.  They have been around so long that they are part of our culture.

For all the people who don't like the show, it's been canceled. I think next season there will be only 13 episodes. Yet American Dad has been resigned for a full season.  :nono:

It just sucks that Fox gives so many shows the "Futurama treatment".  Running ads for The Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad without mention of King of the Hill.  Plus they bounced around the time of the show for awhile. They have no respect.

BirthdayClown - Would you have been ok with me saying? "Yet The Cleveland Show gets to be on Fox."

No, because you haven't seen it yet. I enjoy King of the Hill, but it's not an outrage that it's being cancelled. It's been on for a looooong time, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't get great ratings. If you like the show, FOX gave you 13 seasons of it. Be grateful for that.

13 seasons is like, 150 years old in TV years. The Simpsons have been around since the 80s. They're ancient.

I believe there was a final episode made several seasons ago that wasn't aired when the show was renewed, wasn't there? They'll probably air that.

BC - It's not so much the fact that The Cleveland show is going suck, it's just that MacFarlane will then have 75% of the sunday shows. Which is too much.

Newhook - I believe there was an episode that aired, it may have dealt with Luanne getting married or engaged, that had many of the special cast members in the background, like Chuck.... Found it.

If ABC does pick it up it will be for new episodes. Entire networks don't generally pick up reruns, affiliates do that independently.
