Historically, the term was used to refer to the substance a unicorn's horn is made out of, in addition to the horn itself. In the context of this show, according to one of the storyboard artists, it refers to whatever species Princesses Celestia and Luna are supposed to be. Winged unicorns? Horned pegasi?

All I know is that Applejack is a filthy Earth pony. Or "mud pony".

I have seen the latest episode though, so I'm fully aware that Twilight Sparkle is probably going insane in that picture and trying to tempt that innocent young alicorn into wanting that dirty old hobo's doll more than life itself.

One of the best episodes so far is about one of the unicorns who decides to put on a fashion show, and spends a good portion of the design stage singing about the "Art of the Dress".

It is awesome, and I am not ashamed to admit that I have memorized said song in its entirety.

I am suggesting that, be it unfair of me, that pre-G4 ponies are not cute and cuddly, and that this are cute and cuddly thread.

Considering the discussions you and I have had regarding fanfiction in the past, I find it surprising that you feel this way. A story is a story, regardless of how long it takes to tell. First and foremost, it is about the characters, and just because those characters are ponies doesn't make them any less interesting or enjoyable to read or write about. Calling the subculture "ridiculous" just because for some reason you feel that people outside of the target demographic shouldn't be able to find something there to appreciate is astonishingly naive, and somewhat insulting.

I know I apologized to you by PM, but I just wanted to mention here that my reply to you was out of line. That being said, Past Sins is not ridiculous, and I was slightly hurt that you would assume such a thing; nevertheless, I interpreted what you said in the worst possible way, and I'm sorry.

I really enjoy the character design of Luna.  This seems like a really enjoyable episode too; I love Halloween style episodes!

I agree, I liked Luna a lot and the halloween episode was really cute. Pinkie Pie is a dumbass sometimes and Rainbow Dash can be such a jerk.

There are ponies in the stable in the field across from my house. I can attest to ponies (whether they are indoors or not) not having an indoor voice.

Where I come from, "indoor voice" does not literally mean the voice which is used indoors, but rather, it is a colloquial expression used to express the appropriate volume to be used in any particular situation. I wasn't implying that Luna ought to have been speaking as though she were inside -- I was noting in an amused manner that Luna is apparently the BRIAN BLESSED of Equestria.

Of course, as totalnerduk says, in real life, equestrians have no appreciation for appropriate volume be they indoors or not.
