Going with the crowd here and saying High School Musical. What's with all this hype? The movie was horrendous, and the second one looks even worse.

The Stephen King adaptation 'Dreamcatcher' is the worst film ever made, bar none. Though I think most Stephen King adaptations belong in a seperate category of terrible for the sake of fairness.

You know, there's a sub-genre of bad movie that goes unmentioned by most.
Now, this is, of course, a highly subjective thing, but what about the films that aren't really bad, just... stunningly mediocre?
Of course, there's no reason to stick them on the worst film of all time list, but these sorts of films make me far angrier (yes I get mad over films, shaddap) then a thousand frequently lambasted bad films ever will.
Why?
Because some people have convinced themselves that they are good. TOO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THEM. THEY ARE FAR TOO FONDLY REMEMBERED.
THEY DON'T DESERVE IT, DAMMIT!
Two prominent examples I can think of are Event Horizon and Swordfish. Both pieces of disposable entertainment, that appear to be held in high regard amongst too many circles waaaaaay longer than they should have. Not amongst critics, of course, nor even amongst the greater population, but... films that have got a sort of cult status, or films that you remember being much better than they are.
I don't think I'm explaining it right.
Suffice to say, those two films make me very grumpy.

I think you have to have lived in the U.S. during the 80s to fully appreciate Red Dawn. "You know what's the cool thing about this movie? That this could really happen." "Which part? The Russians invading America or C. Thomas Howell being a tough guy?" "Both." Originally posted by Gocad: Also, 2010 isn't that bad. Sure it can't be compared to 2001, but it's still a decent film. I think that 2010 is actually a better film than 2001, because you can watch all of 2001 without fast-forwarding and still not know what was going on, whereas 2010 not only makes sense, but it also explains what was happening in 2001.

And a bad movie, eh? How 'bout... ' Attack of the Killer Tomatos'? It's so bad, it's not really quite good, but at the same time, yes, it's really really bad. Funny sorta, perhaps, but bad. The sort of thing you'd recommend to a friend as a prank.

Star Trek IV is one of the better Star Trek movies, but you have to admit that some of the jokes are a little corny.
I started watching Star Trek V on TV. I couldn't stand watching it all, so I turned on Attack of the Clones.
