Recasting joker doesn't bother me that much. But having joker, catwoman, and bane, all in the same movie? Why keep rebooting franchises if you're just gonna keep repeating the same mistakes? Pick a villian. Focus, people.
Worked for the Knighfall plotline... where Bane broke the rogues gallery out of Arkham to wear B-man down just for lolsies.

But it doesn't work in movies, at least in the Spider-man 3 example.

Levitt in the cast is interesting now because WHO IS HEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!

It didn't work in batman forever or batman & robin either. Tho both of those movies had so many glaring problems, it's easy to overlook that one.

In any case, I trust Nolan and his writing buddies (his bro Jonathan and David S. Goyer), and this quote from Wally Pfister (lawl), BB and TDK's cinematographer (ok maybe biased) seems to back that up:

Quote
"I read the script two weeks ago, and he's [topped TDK]. Plain and simple — he's done it. It's a phenomenal script. He's still in the process of cutting it back because it's a very long script right now, but it's really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT again. When I watched those I had read the script for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and was like, 'dude, it is a perfect trilogy.' I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it's funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better."

Combine them all into one!

Doesn't work either.

I previously posted, in this thread or another, about my buddy who told me he'd just reviewed the script for the sequel to The Big Lebowski.  I derided it as indicative of the total lack of any new idea creativity in hollywood.  Well, I spoke to my buddy, and he said he heard it just got greenlit to be made.  My question is, why?  From what I was told, the Coens and Jeff Bridges might not be part of the project...
Looks like my buddy was told some incorrect information; Coen Brothers are attached to the project & apparently have approached the original actors to see if they are interested...  Coen Brothers Eyeing Big Lebowski 2

Jurassic Park 4 my ass.  Is there work being done or is it just a bunch of slick Hollywood types hammering out which product placements need to be worked into the movie?  No one would be happier than I if the movie actually turns out to in production, but greasy weasels talking doesn't count as production.

Jurassic Park is a good candidate for a "reboot" now. They could recast everybody except either Sam Neill or Jeff Goldblum, and either follow the books more closely or just recast the whole lot of them, and make the rebooted franchise from the POV of the velociraptors, with subtitles in English for when the dinosaurs are talking and subtitles in snorts and grunts for when the actors are spouting their gibberish.

I agree with that.

I also agree with no Joker.  Recasting is gay.

I also agree with no multiple villains to make ghei movie.... unless it were a 6 hour long movie, then it'd be alright; but directors these days don't want to make 6 hour long movies.

Good movies should all be 13 hours long, and The Room should be 27.

Find a more up to date source Also, a source that actually would have something to do with the movie... your article quoted the guy who played Jesus Quintana in the movie, not the guys, you know, who made the darn thing.

Looks like everyone got rickrolled on this one.  It was traced back to dimwit actress Tara Reid who, when asked about future projects she's working on, said she was going to be starring in another Lebowski film later this year.

Coen Brothers really looking forward to seeing Tara Reid's Big Lebowski sequel

Ok, I really can't let this go, mostly because of my job.

First you re-posted exactly what I just posted.  Second you are saying the first article you linked is related to the second because it was traced back to Tara Reid.  That's totally wrong.  Your first article was written in 2008 and this news about Tara Reid being an idiot only came out in a recent interview.  So unless that interview was done before Sept 2008 (publish date of original article).... they have nothing to do with each other.

Do research better, or at least freaking read the publish date.

Wait a second, seattlejohn01. If you were totally wrong and this was all about Tara Reid being dumb, what the hell was with your friend reading a script and telling you the movie was greenlit??

I smell something fishy.

Something does smell fishy; what I was told doesn't jibe with what's being reported (which I hate).  As for the 2 articles, I missed the publish date on the first one, as it popped up as a current facebook post.  I gotta stop reading articles at 3am.

Sorry to be slow, but wasn't JP3 a reboot of the plot line in JP2?  I saw JP1 years ago but only watched 2 and 3 last week.  Also, JP2 was extremely lame; JP3 was fun.  What in the world could they do for a fresh plot for JP4?  Giganotosaurus goes to Hollywood?

No, JP3 was a proper sequel rather than a reboot, and it was just as bad as JP2.

In JP2 they openly admitted that rather than make old mistakes, they would now be making new ones to build on their past mistakes.

I don't think Jurassic Park needs a reboot. I think the original still holds up, especially visually, I think it's great. And it's a good adaption of the novel, why would they need to redo it, as I see it, if it ain't broken don't fix it.

Part 2 is my least favorite which is a shame because there are good elements about it. It's just that there are so many things happening with a dozen characters and so many scenes are so dark that I don't actually know what's going on. Part 3 is stupid yes, incredibly stupid, but it's fun. I think if there was to be another JP it should be a sequel, but make it darker and scarier in that fun way that the original was like.

I agree with the original holding up and being good, but the novel was way better, with way more in it. Did you read the movie's novelisation or the actual novel? 'Cause the actual novel in it had some truly awesome stuff that was just ignored completely.

SoS: Those scenes were taken out of the original film due to budget constraints, but used (for the most part) in the third film.

I enjoyed The Lost World as well but the first movie of course. I thought the CG was impressive since it was done back in '93.

I remembered watching the movie with awe as Sam Neil and the 2 kids ran alongside with the dinosaurs. I was a happy girl :)

That was the original Jurassic Park. The Lost World was the one with just Jeff Goldblum and the t-rex in California.

I didn't mind The Lost World, but the book was far better than the film.

I had read her post as meaning something like "I enjoyed The Lost World as well, but not as much as the first movie of course," after which talking about the first movie made sense.

That's the curse of death in a special effects film.  The last thing the producers of a film like that want to hear from anyone leaving the theatre is "I liked the book better".
