Well,  he has a point that we can be dicks sometimes (assuming he ever tweeted this at all - if he did, he has since removed the post from his twitter feed. I just checked).  However, he was being mean to the writers of Walking Dead with his original tweets on the subject, even if he wasn't mentioning them by name.

That comment was especially negative toward that specific episode.  I am not at all surprised that other people took it negatively in kind.  Furthermore, as I suggested earlier, it would have probably been more easily digested if Danny had posted his own opinion instead, or at least first.  It's basically like if I posted a comment somewhere that said, "and so-and-so thinks you suck!  What about that!?"  It's just waiting for someone to go, "Oh yeah!  Well so-and-so doesn't know ****!!!"

If anything I think he was referring to me. I made a comment saying essentially that I was going to stop watching Futurama because he was a main writer now. It was a joking exaggeration, and certainly not one I would have ever posted if I thought there was a chance of Eric Rogers himself reading it. I can definitely see how he interpreted it as cruel and hurtful, and hopefully I'll have a chance to apologize to him.

bend-err: it's the difference between being thoughtlessly mean for the sake of a joke, and just being plain-old mean. I wouldn't expect a German to understand.

:edit: And I realised I was looking at the wrong twitter feed entirely. Silly world, with so many people sharing names. It's the 21st century, shouldn't we have replaced names with barcodes? My psychotic religion teacher in 6th grade promised this would've happened by now.

Indeed. I feel bad because I know that I didn't exactly mean what I said, but I also feel he should just take it with a grain of salt instead of feeling the need to defend himself on Twitter. If you know you're a good writer and that you deserved the job, don't defend yourself. Haters are everywhere...I'm sure once he has a few more episodes on his belts I won't be the last person to say something negative about him. Being bashed is something every writer of anything anywhere gets on the internet. Brush it off and move on.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the need to defend himself on Twitter, Josh.  I'm almost certain that this is a private conversation he's having with two people (himself [as Buddy13] and DannyJC13).  That doesn't mean he's thin skinned, it just means he doesn't feel like reading a message board with posts on it from people who call him an idiot for working on the writing staff of Futurama and that he's the reason somebody quit watching Futurama.

If you input stuff Danny, we can respond to you.  Also, if you input stuff that's worthwhile, and somebody calls it spam, other people will be there to defend you.  As I wrote in my other post though, and as Bend-err pointed out, when you posted Eric's tweet feed thingy in this thread, you didn't share any opinion of your own on the episode or on the content that you were sharing; so basically, what it looked like to everyone else is that you were communicating that you thought the episode was shit because Eric Rogers (a writer for Futurama [possibly Buddy13]) said so.  I'm not saying that you're a worthless individual, or that Eric Rogers' opinion isn't worthwhile; I am, however, saying that the way you communicated whatever idea you were trying to get across was always going to be reacted to in the manner that it was.

But this is the first time that he's really gotten his name out in the public. You could probably say whatever you want about Matt Groening, and Matt would say "So? What's your point?" because he's been in the public eye forever, and probably read tons of bad reviews of the Simpsons, Futurama, and countless other projects. Eric Rogers hasn't been under such scrutiny yet and hasn't developed his thick skin.

I like your conspiracy theory, but I'm just not that dedicated. I'd have write for Futurama from the beginning, then create the Infosphere as a reference for myself, then create two separate Twitter accounts and talk to myself now and then....

Serious apologies all around, guys. I'm the one that linked this to Eric Rogers. I know that sounds bad, but I seriously wasn't trying to stir the pot! I got into a small Twitter  conversation with him--he had joked about people seeing his tweets, thinking he's an a-hole and then unfollowing him. So I joked back about how mad people got over his Walking Dead tweets. He asks for a link and then without even thinking about the repercussions I sent it to him.

Didn't think about his feelings possibly getting hurt. Didn't think about people here feeling bad about what they said. (I know nobody here was trying to be mean. The things we say to ourselves as internet fans/viewers might not always be what we would like to say to the writers/producers in real life.) Just wasn't thinking. I feel like a Grade A jerk and I am very very sorry.
