Yep, that be it.  The show wasn't so good, other than Heather Thomas in a swimsuit.  For some odd reason, tho, I always thought the theme song was pretty good.  I guess because it pokes fun at actors who don't really do the he-man stuff they get all the credit for.  (Unlike Jackie Chan, who does all his own stunts and is gonna kill himself one of these days!)

The best of all time has to be the theme to "Grim and Evil".

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire - The A Team!  BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG! Da da da DA, da da da, and so on.  Truly classic.  Also good are Happy Days, MASH, Quantum Leap, The Chain (BBC's F1 music), and "What Does He See in Me?", the theme to an 80s ITV sitcom called "Watching".

Somewhere in the dark and nasty regions, where nobody goes, stands an ancient castle. Deep within this dank and uninviting place..lives Berk ["'ello!"], over-worked servant of the thing upstairs ["Berk! Feed me!"]. But that’s nothing compared to the horrors that lurk beneath the trapdoor. For there’s always something down there,in the dark....waiting to come out.

Don’t you open that trapdoor!

You're a fool if you dare.

Don’t you open that trapdoor,

Cause there's something down there...

I can't believe nobodys sung this un yet:
This is 29 acacia road. And this is eric, the schoolboy who leads an amazing double life. For when Eric eats a banana, an amazing transformation occurs. Eric is Bananaman! Ever alert of the call to action!
I say that one frequently, around one of my freinds, as his name is Eric. everytime you greet him, you can ususally hear a chorus of "This is 29 Acacia road..."

Only Fools and Horses:

OPENING THEME

Stick a pony in me pocket,
I'll fetch the suitcase from the van.
Cos if you want the best 'uns,
But you don't ask questions,
Then brother, I'm your man.
Cos where it all comes from is a mystery,
It's like the changin' of the seasons,
And the tides of the sea.
But here's the one that's drivin' me beserk,
Why do only fools and horses work?
La-la-la
La-lala-la
La-la-la
La-lala-la

CLOSING THEME

We've got some half price cracked ice and miles and miles of carpet tiles,
T.V.s, deep freeze and David Bowie L.P.s,
Ball games, gold chains, whatsnames, pictures frames and leather goods,
And Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush,
Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush ...
No income tax, no V.A.T.,
No money back, no guarantee,
Black or white, rich or poor,
We'll cut prices at a stroke......
God bless Hooky Street,
Viva Hooky Street,
Long live Hooky Street,
C'est magnifique, Hooky Street,
Magnifique, Hooky Street,

M.A.S.H Yes, I know it's from the movie, but what the..

Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see . . .
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.

I try to find a way to make all our little joys relate
Without that ever-present hate but now I know that it’s too late, and . . .
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.

The game of life is hard to play I’m gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I’ll someday lay so this is all I have to say.
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.

The only way to win is cheat and lay it down before I’m beat
and to another give my seat for that’s the only painless feat.
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.

The sword of time will pierce our skins it doesn’t hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in the pain grows stronger . . . watch it grin, but . . .
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.

A brave man once requested me to answer questions that are key
'is it to be or not to be' and I replied 'oh why ask me?'
That suicide is painless it brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please.
And you can do the same thing if you choose

Earthworm Jim Hey, I like it.

Earthworm Jim, the soil he did crawl
Earthworm Jim, a super suit did fall.

Jim was just a dirt-eating, chewing length of worm,
But all that came to a crash and gave him lots of power.

Earthworm Jim, he’s such a groovy guy
Earthworm Jim, he rockets through the sky

Cruising through the Universe, having lots of fun,
Here comes Earthworm Jim you know that he's the mighty one
"Look out!" La La La La , La La La La, La La La . . .

Despite his great big muscles and his really big ray gun,
Jim is still an Earthworm but then he’s the only one,
With a super suit to make him really super strong,
Jim can be a winner if we only sing along . .

Earthworm Jim, we think he’s mighty fine,Earthworm Jim, a hero for all time.

Earthworm, Earthworm, Earthworm,

Earthworm Jim, Hooray for Jimmmmmmm!

Just sit right back, and you'll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip
That started on this tropic port,
Aboard this tiny ship
The mate was a mighty sailing man,
The skipper brave and sure
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three-hour tour
A three-hour tour

The weather started getting rough
The tiny ship was tossed
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Minnow would be lost
The Minnow would be lost

The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert island
With Gilligan
The Skipper too
A millionaire
And his wife
A movie star
The Professor and Mary Anne
Here on Gilligan's Island

Showing my age here .... does anyone remember this?

One banana, two banana, three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' to bring you the Banana Split show

(CHORUS)
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la

Four banana, three banana, two banana, one
All bananas playin' in the bright warm sun.
Flippin' like a pancake, popping like a cork
Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper an' Snork

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Two banana, four banana, one banana, three
Swingin' like a bunch on monkeys, hangin' from a tree.
Hey there, ev'rybody, won't you come along and see
How much like Banana Splits ev'ryone can be

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Makin up a mess of fun
Makin up a mess of fun
Happiness for ev'ryone
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la

The theme music to Morse is based on the Morse code for "Morse" (follow that?) and the incidental music spells out the name of the murderer in Morse code.

I claim the prize for "most uses of the word Morse in a single post"

Here's a future classic:

He's a phantom...
Danny Phantom phantom phantom...
Yo Danny Phantom he was just 14
when his parents built a very strange machine.
It was designed to view a world unseen.

he's gotta catch 'em all cauz he's Danny Phantom!

then the inside light broke and his parents just quit
then Danny took a look inside of it.
there was a big flash everything just changed
his molecules got all rearranged!

(back music- phantom, phantom)

When he woke up he realized
he had snowy white hair
and glowing green eyes!
He could walk through walls disappear and fly.
He's much more unique than the other guy!
But then he knew what he had to do
He had to stop all the ghosts that were comin through.
He's here to fite for me and you!

Gotta catch 'em all cauz he's Danny Phantom!
Gotta catch 'em all cauz he's Danny Phantom!
Gotta catch 'em all cauz he's (whispered) Danny Phantom!

Sweetmelly

My favorite tune is from M*A*S*H

Through early morning fog I see

The losing card I'll someday lay

But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger, watch it grin, but...

I love the Angel theme. I worship the cello.

Ben has mentioned two of my favourite TV themes from yesteryear (those being Danger Mouse and The Trapdoor).

I guess I'll gave to mention 'Duckula' as well. And Croketts theme from Miami Vice (which isn't a theme song exactly, but meh).

The Fairly Odd Parents

Timmy is an average kid
that no one understands.
Mom & Dad & Vicky always giving him commands.
Bed twerp!
The doom and gloom up in his room
is broken instantly.
By his magic little fish,
They grant his every wish 'cause in reality,
they are his Oddparents.
Fairly Oddparents
Wands and wings!
Floaty crowny things!
OddParents, Fairly OddParents
Real mod, peapod, buff bod, hot rod
Obtuse, rubber goose, green moose, guava juice, giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake!
Oddparents, Fairly OddParents
It flips your lid when you are the kid with Fairly OddParents!

Most of the themes that I like are wordless, such as Futurama (seriously - I thought that it was the coolest theme ever even before I liked the show), The Odd Couple (old, but a fun tune), and several of the Star Trek themes. As for themes with lyrics... MST3K, mainly.

Well, let’s see: Hill Street Blues; Dr Who; Edge of Darkness; Cosmos. Then there was Who Pays The Ferryman? by Yannis Markopoulos: that was the second tape I played to destruction (the first being The War of the Worlds). And for those who remember Boon (blame any errors on senility and being too lazy to dig out the vinyl):

Sometimes I sit here, feeling low
No one to talk to, I got no telephone
And at night I wake up; I just lie and stare
C’mon and save me from this nightmare

Hi ho silver
You’ve got me lone ranger
He’s riding on down
To rescue me

Hi ho silver (etc.)

I know the road I must take, with a blink of my eyes
I leave old friends behind like old alibis
I’ll take all they throw against me; I’m in despair
For truth and justice, and for the common man

Hi ho silver (etc.)

Hi ho silver (etc.)

And I guess it took some time for me to decide
If you were just my hero, or my friend
Watching with my innocent eyes, your silver stallion ride
Across my room and listen as they cried:

Hi ho silver (etc.)

Hi ho silver

Hi ho silver (etc.)

What, I'm the first person to mention this one?

Mister Trouble never hangs around
When he hears this Mighty sound:
"Here I come to save the day!"
That means that Mighty Mouse is on the way!

Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right
Mighty Mouse will join the fight
On the sea or on the land
He gets the situation well in hand

So though we are in danger
We never despair
'Cause we know that where there's danger
He is there!
He is there! On the land! On the sea! In the air!

We're not worryin' at all
We're just listenin' for his call:
"Here I come to save the day!"
That means that Mighty Mouse is on the way!

EDIT: Also, The NEW Mighty Mouse:

Here he comes that Mighty Mouse
Coming to vanquish the foe with a mighty blow!
So don't be afraid any more
'Cause things won't be like they've been before!

Here he comes to save the day!
Like a bolt from the blue with a heart that's true
Fighting evil, fighting crime
And always there in the nick of time!

"Here I come to save the day!"
And he will prove that crime will never pay!
So let the trumpet players play (ba da da da daa)
For Mighty Mouse is here today!
