Why?  We need them to speak English so we can understand them and we don't have to read.  But the voices would be different....  Anyway, they haven't started dubbing it in English, so don't worry.

TOTPD! Woooooo!

Futuramafreak, this is not a comment on you as a member, because I rarely hear you say anything stupid. But you see, pretty much only Final Fantasy/anime fans will see this film. If you're a fan of Final Fantasy it's likely you're used to reading subtitles, and you'd want to preserve the integrity of the original Japanese cast. Therefore an 'English version' is rather useless, and diehard fans won't want to see it. Then again, that's just my opinion.

Is it just me, or does Alexander look incredibly crappy?  And just what the hell is COlin Farrell wearing on his head?

You have a good point and I am a diehard fan.  Personnaly, I think it would be best to release one of each in a set.  But no one will know until it comes out.  :hmpf:

From what I've read it's going to be a great movie. Big Oscar hopes. But not enough people have seen it, so it could be another Troy.

I'm going to point to FLCL to make my case here. I originally saw FLCL in japanese language with subtitles. Haruko was freakin' hilarious. It's almost not watchable on Adult Swim because the woman who did Haruko's voice in the dub is nowhere near as insane as the japanese woman who did the original voice. So that's my argument against subtitles in the final fantasy movie.

Having said that, there have been a few occasions where the dub was better-but the only one I can think of is Cowboy Bebop.

Leave the dubbing for Godzilla and let anime be subtitled, I say.

That Farscape trailer doesn't do anything for me, really. Maybe it's because it's really small and I can't make out any details.

Still, I have huge expectations for the miniseries. This is going to be the best thing ever.

I'll go see Alexander if he has as much gay sex as the real Alexander did.
Geez.. I HOPE it isn't like Troy.. I fell asleep a half hour into that one. No monsters or gods? B-b-b-boring..
[EDIT: YES I'm well aware that the story of Alexander doesn't require gods and monsters. I'm just hoping it won't be boring is all.]

Apparently he has sex with a woman in the film but not with any men. Sorry!

The Motorcycle Diaries. Latin American filmmaking at its finest (or so I've heard).

Sadly, since that's Danny Elfman's music from Tim Burton's remake of "Planet of the Apes", it won't be in the movie.

Oh, I didn't know that.
I hope it has a good score anyway, I couldn't find any info about any music, but that doesn't surprise me since they're only about 13 weeks into filming.

Yeah, seriously, what was up with that?  Much as I love Elfman and all, every hardcore HHGTTG fan knows the music should have been "Journey of the Sorcerer" by The Eagles.

Here's the trailer for Alone in the Dark.  Actually it's more of a nonsensical collection of random scenes than a real trailer.  This movie was directed by Uwe Boll, the man who brought us last year's House of the Dead.

We brits got to see this six months ago, and it comes to DVD 11 days before it opens in the States.   :evillaugh:

I defy anyone to hate this movie, honestly, the best movie I've seen this year.

EDIT: I've taken a look around the US sites for SOTD, I like the US Version of the trailer, contains some great bits (especially the "Team Pie" speech).

Look, I'm on commission.

I'll not be happy unless everyone sees that movie.

We Brits have a duty to convice the world that we are capable of producing movies which are not (a) cock-er-nee gangster pap by Guy Ritchie, and (b) starring Hugh Grant.

Also, Vinnie Jones was a soccer-player, and not a very good one at that.

Pegg and Wright's movie represents a new hope for British movies.  ;)

A lot of people complain about trailers that give everything away, but that's the first trailer I've ever seen that really spoils everything. I mean, everyone knows the story from the book, but.. Ugh, and I've been looking forward to it for well over a year[I track animated film productions online, because 'me = nerd', as a friend so succinctly put it].

Whats that new one coming out from the makers of Lock Stock... and Snatch?
I checked Guy's imdb page but it's not there, maybe because that film with his wife sucked so much they never asked him...
The trailer looked good though I saw it before Bourne Supremecy.

The one with the cake?  I know which one you mean, yeah, doesn't look bad.

Perhaps I'm being unfair, I was more referring to the loadsa rip-offs which come out, y'know for every Lock Stock, there's a Mean Machine.

I never saw that because I heard it was crud.

There was a short TV series (it was on C4 ages ago) of Lock Stock and *some Cockney rhyming title*
Seven episodes with cool storylines like the film, it was on play.com a while ago for £6 or something but now it's up to £16!   :hmpf:
