According to the Daily News, ALF may be hosting a talk show in the future.

Is this the greatest thing to happen in the history of TV, or just one of the top 3?

I smell a conspiracy. I think Chevy Chase is secretly funding this show, so people will finally start making fun of a talkshow other than his.

This Alien Life Form (ALF) was the star of a sitcom many years ago, in which his spaceship crashed into the home of a Typical White Suburban Family (TWSF), who kept him hidden from the Evil Government Conspiracy (EGC).

ALF is currently appearing in a TV commercial for a long-distance telephone service, alongside other Long-Forgotten Has-Beens (LFHBs).

Hey, I liked him when he was on. I also liked the tv movie. I think his time has come and gone though.

Remember the muppets variety show with Fozzie, Kermit, and a whole buch of other guys? It was from the 70's. Then they tried to do a new version of it in the late 90's, complete with today's best celebrities. That one didn't last very long.

That's because people aren't as stupid as they were in the 70's. Just look at the clothes.

ALF ... those were the days ... we had no TV so i had to stay at friends till 8pm to watch it ...

For the new members who haven't noticed: ALF (and Lynn + Kate) are in the header of the offtopic board:

I don't really know if a talk show can work ... after all it was a scripted show and i doubt the poor small guy in the costume could match up the facial movements alongsides spontanious jokes ...

ALF was okay, but I don't know about the switch to a new show format. It could be decent but very well could be a stinker. For some reason it reminded me of "Gentle Ben" from The Simpsons, that bear with his own talk show. "They'll give anyone a show these days!"   :)

Now I've seen the picture of ALF at least I know what he looks like :) I've never seen or heard of him before though, and yes I have seen The Muppets.

I don't think Alf would last very long in a talk show.  He's better suited for dumb 10-10-220 comercials.

FYI- Am I the only one who liked Muppets Tonight?  Just wondering.  :)

Jiminy Glick? That's Martin Short in a fat suit and makeup. Comedy Central actually found a bald guy to do some Oscar special and prove anyone can do the same wildly-stereotypical fat obnoxious fey idiot shtick for a LOT cheaper.

I know.  And those who attempt to make one, try way too hard or too little.  I think the makers of "Greg the Bunny" need to watch MST3K and take some notes.  I'd rather watch Mr. B Natural than a vampire puppet in his underwear.
