My sparkly gif is a MAJOR Dr Who nerd (Dr Who Forum nerd). I watched the easter special and then spoke to her at length about the show, asking questions about everything, she'd tell me one thing, mention something else, then i'd ask about that. After like, an hour and a half, i told her, her show sounds ridiculous. Which it does, but I did enjoy it.

So hows about the master returning?

Don't let her read that post, chay. You just called her your "sparkly gif"; I wouldn't be happy being called a .gif

And he already did. In fact the Master has done nothing but return, I think that's just what he does.

Xanny I love your description of the 10th Doctor. XD

The last 3 episodes of series 3 were really good. That was the first glimpse I had of The Master, I liked him, well that version of him at least. I've only seen one other episode with The Master as of right now and that was The 5 Doctors. I eed to find more stuff with him.

So... I watched season one of Torchwood, which was awesome, then my Sparkly Gif said there were quite a few Doctor Who eps that tied directly to it, so i should watch them too... but now here I am, 2 seasons deep, about to watch the season 2/3 Xmas special.

Poor Rose/Doctor :( OMG! DALEK/CYBERMEN Fight! and... Yay RMicky!

Now that i'm up to season 3, I should re-watch season one of Torchwood, so the finale of TW/last three eps of season 3 tie up nicely and it's all fresh in my mind.

The Rose/Doctor stuff is kinda out of character for the Doctor, IMO at least. Up until the 1996 movie there was never any kind of romance between The Doctor and his companion(s) then a smooch in the movie and it took off from there when RTD took over. Though I do have to hand it to RTD it was quite sad that last part of Doomsday. Micky was good in that.

Have you seen Age of Steel/ Rise of The Cybermen yet Chay? Those episodes explain why Mickey is there in the Parallel world and how the Cybermen came back. If you want more on Pete might I recommend Father's Day.

Don't you love the Dalek/ Cyberman coversation in Doomsday?

Dalek: This is not war. This is pest control.

I'm too lazy to type it all out.

Oh, I've watched all of season 1 and 2 of it. I grasped why the daleks/cyber men were there (moslty...) Yeah, that conversation was awesome, the daleks got some 'tude. "You are better at one thing. Dying" ZING!

There was no Ianto in Doomsday :( I was hoping to see him or his girlfriend in the background. No dice! :(

That's good that you've seen all that. Now on to Series, oops seasons, 3 and 4. I think season 4 of DW is the best of the new stuff followed by seri-, I mean season 1 (Why do I keep trying to type series?). Where are you in Season 3?

That conversation made me love the Daleks so much. Brilliant attitude they got.

Dalek: We will defeat the Cybermen with one Dalek!

Yeah, I don't think RTD had even thought that up until Torchwood started. But he was there somewhere hiding or whatever.

Wow no votes in the poll for Hartnell. He was good.

I've seen none of Season 3, going to watch the Xmas special with Catherine Tate tonight. (not WITH catherine tate, she's just in it)

S1 Torchwood played alongside S3 DW, so i'm sure by the S2 finale, he knew about Cybermen coming back in TW.

I didn't like that Xmas special too much. Then again Donna (Cathrine Tate's character is so annoying in it). Season 3 was okay, not great. Martha is a bit annoying to me. (I think SoS likes season 3 but I forget... If he does oh well.)

True, but he probably didn't think about the possibility of a half-human/ half-cyberman story until he actually started Torchwood.

Love the reaction Chay. It just adds to the awesome that is Jack.

The Master is great though, his earlyier incanations (That I've seen) aren't as wacky. Davros is great no matter what.

Something else for you to watch, Chay. It goes after season 3 but before the Xmas special with Kylie.

Worth watching if only for Peter Davison's comment about the Master.

I love that clip! But it may not work for Chay it didn't work here but who knows if it will Australia...

"Oh no, really? Does he still have that rubbish beard?"

I like the latest verison of The Master. Much more fun. But Anthony Ainley's Master was good also. If I manage to start a converstation about the Master then that'd be cool but I'm not trying to do that.

(Sorry if it doesn't work)

I was amazed at the Master's make-over, I honestly thought it would fall flat on its face cause the old Vincent Price-style Master is so obviously dated, so they couldn't go back to that and I just couldn't think of a way to make it work.

Probably the biggest surprise of the new stuff, and certainly a pleasant one. Quite confusing really, cause if it weren't for the fact that he was being really shitty to the Doctor and had enslaved the human race, I think I'd enjoy a pint with the guy.

That clip did work thank you :) Very funny, even though I've not seen any of the earlier stuff. Liked the bit about DT making fun of the glasses he doesn't need :P

Started watching Torchwood season 2. Good so far, gotta finish it before children of earth airs, which is when, first/second week of July?

ALSO, Voyage of the Damned isn't good so I heard, at least from a Doctor Who hardcore fan perspective.

You should see earlier stuff, it's quite good. If you want to see any of it let me know.

I really need to catch up with Torchwood. I'm sad to admit this but you have seen more than I have of Torchwood, Chay. But t's piling up on my DVR so I'll catch up, maybe a Torchwood marathon this week...

Voyage of the Damned was okay. Not the best, but still. There were definitely some funny lines.

I was dubious about Matt Smith at first, but now he's beginning to remind me of Jon Pertwee. As for the new TARDIS design -- EPIC WIN.

Now, the question is: do the doors open outwards or inwards?

I can cope with the Doctor looking like that.

And since the TARDIS has changed many times over the years, the other question is: is the chameleon circuit really broken or just being an arse?

I agree with Xanny about the new TARDIS look

From what they were saying abut Smith's clothing style i was expecting something more crazy, but what ever that look seems to be good for him.

I think the Chameleon Circuit likes looking like a phone booth.

I saw Tom Baker on the stage in the West End in An Inspector Calls, many years ago.I am such a Doctor fan, although a Peter Davison one admittedly. It was still a thrill.

The latest special aired tonight. It was pretty good, but the ending was lame. The Doctor isn't supposed to be some sort of megalomaniacal figure who flits from one moment to the next changing history on a whim. I hope they don't go down that road. Intrigued as to the next one.

Hope iPlayer works overseas, or I'll miss it.

Definitely an enjoyable installment of Doctorness but only really worthy of a normal episode length. We have essentially been cheated out of what should be a BBC staple series each year.

I enjoyed it, but I'm still full of "Grrrrrrrr" in general. That's as eloquently as I can put it.

I just finished Waters of Mars. It was good though the ego on 10 was really pissing em off at the end I wanted to punch him. Really out of character. I really hope they don't have him start changing history randomly and I hope this ego don't go on to Smith's Doctor.

I cannot wait for the Xmas special.

Since I've yet to see any episodes with the Ice Warriors (mainly cause I've yet to see any on DVD) can I please have a quick run down of them.
