The return of the weeping angels certainly didn't disappoint, creepy as ever, especially the video scene with Amy (love how she alternatively winked at it, which occurred to me way back when I first watched Blink).

Great cliff-hanger ending and assuming part two is as good, I may well have found a new favourite story from the new stuff. Also I think Moffat is handling the Doctor/companion relationship a heck of lot better than RTD did, the way MS treats Amy is far more reminiscent of the first 8 Doctors. Personally, I think DT wasn't anywhere near dismissive enough.

River Song died in the library episode didn't she?

Also, didn't the doctor not actually deal with the angels in Blink? He was only in it for about 3 seconds.

She certainly did, the Doctor's first meeting with her turned out to be her last meeting with him. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

We have to assume that he encountered them prior to the Blink episode because he and Martha were trapped in 1969 after getting touched, but you are correct that we haven't actually seen him encounter them until now.

The Venice episode was quite good, next weeks looks like a corker though.

Hmm, I'm a bit undecided about the Venice episode. There were many plus points - the idea of the plot was very good and it had some good elements throughout but there were a couple of areas that kinda let it down for me though:

Anyway, I agree, next week's episode looks absolutely fascinating. :)

Yeah, next week's looks like a story straight from 60s Who, should be excellent.

Venice episode now:

Hmm
quite good

Pretty much sums it up for me.

I quite liked Vampires in Venice, I thought it was good. The was good that they stuck with every vampire stereotype. I like Rory I'm glad we'll get to see more of him.

This weeks episode looks interesting can't wait to see it.

Very good Who today. Top drawer! Excellent even!

Especially the final explanation for the whole thing, so trivial; it reminded me of Edge of Destruction.

Well worthy of a re-watch knowing the ending, too. I enjoyed it more second time around.

It was alright... if a little predictable. Psychic pollen, I did not forsee, but I saw the two dreams thing coming, and the doctor's darker self... nailed it within three minutes of him appearing on screen. C'mon, Nu Who, challenge me!

The Doctor is the subject of the question, "Doctor Who?" Were the Doctor the object of the question -- that is, receiving an action, then "Doctor Whom?" would indeed be correct. The primary misunderstanding in the grammar is that the title itself is not accurately phrased as a question as it should be. This came about from its original intention, which was for it to be the standard name by which the Doctor would be referred to by Ian.

And WOTAN, apparently.

Yeah, that told him!

So, to keep things sort of focused on current who, is the dreamlord some sort of early incarnation of the brickyard? Or just a random event that has no relevance to the enormous backlog of canon?

Blink is awesome and if you can see it you should (not much Doctor in it though).

Now for this latest episode, what with it being a two parter and everything I hope they explain why the Silurian prisoner appears to have mammary glands. And very nice ones at that.

Got 'Blink' on iTunes. It was good, and the man who was in 1969, that was sad.
I wish there more weeping angel scenes though.

I always wanted to know what the four things and a lizard were.

The DVD extra conversation from the past stands out like a beacon in Nu Who (just for you, tnuk  ;)) as the best idea since it came back. You're right about there being few angel scenes, but that's why that two parter was so good - "seeing" them in proper action.

I've not watched the second part of the current Silurian story yet but here's hoping for some more improbable lizard tits.  :)

Another thing that bothered me was when Sally looked out the window, blinked for a fraction of a second and the angels moved around thirty metres, yet in the house when the man looked away for half a second it moved only a couple of metres, and in the basement when the light went out for two seconds, managing only a few inches.

It's called "management of suspense". Drawing out the moment. They want you to salivate in anticipation of the inevitable. Salivate in fear.

Blink is one of the very best Tennant episodes. Possibly because it has so little Tennant in it.

I thought yesterday's episode was great as well, the CGI invisible parrot dinosaur monster was pretty lame but that didn't matter because of the emotion of the ending.

Also, I really hope Rory wasn't written out just like that, it better come back in a big way sometime soon.

Brilliant episode, it was the right time to take a diversion from the crack. I thought Fun Cock (apparently Van Gogh sounds like that in a dutch accent) was very well portrayed although the invisible monster thing was almost pointless to the interest of the story. Still excellent mind you.

As far as Rory goes his ring is still in the TARDIS, I think, so there is still hope. Also we certainly haven't seen the end of Amy's crack.

Hehe, Rory's ring.... Amy's crack.... [insert joke]

James Corden is in it, he is shit, he is another example of fat not funny who will probably spoil the episode (and Patrick Stewart shows more talent in one line than he could in an entire career)

It wasn't bad. Thought that it was a little bit odd that the alien ship was described as a TARDIS, perhaps there's another timelord wandering around.

I thought this was a fairly bland episode... probably because Corden's character was boring and the delightful Karen Gillan was underused as Amy didn't feature much. I could have done without the Doctor playing football as well.
