I'll go and see it just for Haley. I think that was a good choice. Having Michael Bay as producer, however...

I've been seeing alot of movie posters of Astro Boy in 3D. I am not happy.

Why can't people let things just the way it should be. They already murdered my Alvin and the Chipmunks

I am eagerly waiting for Green Lantern, but as its release date is 2011, I wonder if I'll live to see it.
I may be waiting awhile longer for these sequels:

The Subtle Knife
Hitchhiker's Guide 2

After that terrible ending to The Golden Compass you can pretty much give up on the Subtle Knife for a while. Not a good cliffhanger. But I'd see it, just because I liked the books. The ending of the other one just made me so mad, though.

The ending to Compass made everyone who read the book cringe. I can see they had to make it a hollywood ending.Supposedly they would meld the real ending into the Knife, but as you said the sequels are on hold indefinately.
Pullman may be partially to blame for the Compass mess,as he has said many times that he is only in it for the money. He could care less about the story being bastardized as long as he got paid. The movie made enough internationally to warrent a sequel.
The stars are all under contract for the sequels, but they would have to recast Lyra.
I was happy to hear Kate at the end. She still has a stunning voice.
As for Hitchhikers,well....We got to see Douglas at the very end, but his spirit was woven through the production. Many people put it down, but I was fairly satisfied with the movie as a whole.

If they did the same ending as the book it would have been  great and left  more of a cliffhanger in my opinion.

Yeah, I never got why so many people hated it, either.

That doesn't look so bad. Normally 2's and 3's of things look just as stupid from the trailer as they actually are, but that might actually be worth watching.

I was never a fan of 2 (although I haven't seen it in like a few long years), I probably would like it better upon watching it now. I'm sure that I'll love 3, they had some nice moments in the trailer, hopefully there are more in the actual film.

Also, Black Dynamite looks like it could be the funniest movie released this year.

Speaking about Pixar movies, does anyone know what Cars 2 is going to be about?

2 Cars - One Destiny

Er, no. Maybe the main car from the first movie has some kids and they drive him insane.

I bet it has something to do with cars and there probably will be some breakage involved.

Jim Carey in A Christmas Carol could be good. It gives him a chance to shamelessly mug for the camera, which is dubious.
But it's in 3-D so this may be cool.
My favorite Christmas Carol was with George C. Scott. It was filmed in Shrewsbury and the citizens still talk about the day they went Hollywood.

I just saw it on IMDb. O.k. I'm intrigued. I hope it makes it to second run. I've bought my last 12 dollar movie ticket.

I guess Avatar will be in Imax too.

This is too important to worry about double posting faux pas, but Dan Aykroyd stated on Larry King show that they were wrapping up a new Ghostbusters movie with Sigourney and Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.
After 20 years a new Ghostbusters.
I can't wait.

Sorry about the Double Post.

You were 1 supposedly when the last one came out. Now if it were the Harry Potter or the James Bond 007 franchise, you could say it was tired.

Ghostbusters 1 1984
Ghostbusters 2 1989
Ghostbusters 3 2010

Or are you personally tired?

I think we've all learnt a valuable lesson today: It's not the quantity of time between sequels that makes a franchise tired, it's the quantity of the sequels.

Should be interesting to see how Ghostbusters 3 turns out, though...

If they haven't been able to write better material having been away so long, it may not be worth the wait. Most people who enjoyed the 1 and 2 will be anticipating the release. If they didn't, they won't.

Made a lot of money though.

Dan: 58
Sigourney: 61
Harold: 64...and so on.

It'll be like Indiana Jones! There was a lot of time between it and the last one, and the main actor was considerably older and that turned out just fine!

Then again it could be Psycho 2 which was 23 years after the original. Bad and derivative.

Old people can be funny..my dad is very funny, and he's older than most of the cast.

Ghostbusters I think would probably work. The video game was fun to watch having the original actors' voices in it. I'm just interested to know how they'd pull it off...will the original guys be running around with their bellies jiggling or will they just run a business with younger people doing the leg work?
