Ok, so here it is:

Motif throughout entire series, begining in pilot: White and Black. Good people and bad people.

Jacob is dressed in white. His enemy is dressed in black. Locke sees a white light. The smoke monster is black. The smoke monster can manifest itself as people. Smokey Locke is Jacob's enemy. Smokey Alex told Ben not to kill Smokey Locke. It was one character telling Ben not to kill itself in effect.

Jacob is good. Saved Locke after his fall, stopped Sayid from getting run over along with Nadia, helped Kate, helped calm Jack, eased Hurley's self-doubt, comforted Sawyer.

Ilana, Bram, and the 315 guys works for JACOB, not Ben as originally thought. Season 6 will be Jacob vs Enemy, not Ben vs Widmore. It looks like Ben won that showdown.

H-Bomb set off energy, causing the incident, as Miles explained. Island not destroyed..the energy maybe negated the effect of the bomb? Cool to see how Dr Chang lost his arm. Energy will possibly send Jack, Kate, Sawyer, etc back to 2007... will Juliet go? Did she die? Or did the effect of the energy happen immediately and spare her? We'll see.... I hope she isn't transported to 2007 underground if so. 8 months until we find out :(

The Island is the Garden of Eden.
Jacob is God, Other Dude is the Devil.

ANYwho, Loved the black rock at the very beginning ^_^

Crazy ep. Still need to digest.

Fuck, Lost season finales are always amazing. So many "OMG" moments! A big "holy shit" at the fact that they showed Jacob - I didn't think that was going to happen until very late in the series. The revelation with Locke was... weird. Awesome, but weird. Didn't like the way they ended it, though. No closure, just far too many questions. And now we have to wait 7 months for the next episode?! Gah!

Still, brilliant ep. I think Season 5 might be my favourite season to date. Bring on 6!

9 months :)

Also, i wouldn't say that there are THAT many questions, i mean it's definately going to be a painful wait, but i'd say less so than previous season, we've found out a lot more, and had more things revealed than in previous seasons i think.

I didn't think that was going to happen until very late in the series.

haha what do you think this is? Finale Season 5, and next season is the last (isn't it?)

Man, during my morning shower I was thinking about the finale, and I had about 4 or 5 questions in my head tha tI knew I wanted to post here... now I can't remember a single one!!! Grr. Hang on.. they'll come to me...

I do suspect that Season 6 will be about the battle of Jacob + his enemy. You look back now at all previous seasons and it doesn't even seem to matter anymore all the fighting and battle for leadership, becuase its' always been about something bigger!

Also looking forward to learn about Ilana, Bram + 315 crew and how they play a part in this. It's all been working towards something that started so long ago I want to know how they're involved now.

I want to know more about why Jacob "made me this way" re: Richard's ageless appearance. Is he some kind of keeper?

Was Ben never really a leader afterall?

How many places has Jacob's Enemy been now, posing as a dead person, to show himself to other people? To direct them piece by piece to bring him to Jacob in order to kill him? How did Jacob's Enemy die in the first place and why is he able to be consume himself into other people?

We still don't know what happened to Claire???

Sad about the H-Bomb not going off, they're all teary, waiting... and then finding Juliet at the bottom having to hit more to make it go off. Did Sayid die in the end? There had to be people around to make record of "the incident", otherwise it wouldn't have had the name in the first place... obviously the bomb didn't obliviate everyone into nothing like you'd expect it to. What is the electro magnetic force buried in the island for in the first place - how did it get there, and what purpose did it have originally? How do we know our Oceanic peoples will *flash* back to their original place just because the  bomb goes off?

Nuts to you Chay, I have a tonne of questions :p

Perhaps Richard could've been on the black rock at the very beginning?

Also, it could be possible that appearances of Jacob so far have not been jacob but enemy? I'm going to call him Moses from now on.

Also, i don't think that moses necessarily died, but just kept looking for the loophole to be able to kill Jacob.

heh Moses, okaaay.

What black rock are you talking about?

And, what is the motive for "moses" to kill Jacob anyway?

Quote

I agree here. At least I suspect MOST, if not all, of them were "moses".

Nins: I'm calling him Moses cause that's what ben called him "What is he? Moses?"

Black Rock as in the ship, the first scene, the ship on the horizon.

Motive to kill Jacob. Jacob and Moses is such a strong allusion to God/Satan.

Ah. Okay Moses it is.

Oh right, the ship. I get ya. (I'm sorry but I don't understand the reference to the name Black Rock though? :( )

So the motive to kill Jacob is just cuz he should? I mean, there's gotta be a better reason... like he stole the island from him first :p Or something!

I DISAGREE

It would be enough to speculate on whether the H bomb killed everyone, only killed Juliet, sent the losties to 2007, sent them back to 815, did nothing, or WHAT. But now we have all that PLUS who is Jacob's enemy, how do Ilana, Bram, and the others fit in, who else has the enemy controlled, what's the line between Jacob and his enemy, what's the enemy's freaking NAME so we don't have to call him "Jacob's enemy" for 9 months  and is Jacob completely good or a mix? He let Nadia die!!!!!

Where have I seen this Moses, or the actor, before? I'm  thinking a police series?

Also, Crocodile Man God statue: Sobek

Quote
He was also shown with an ankh, representing his ability to undo evil and so cure ills

...

Sobek's ambiguous nature led some Egyptians to believe that he was a repairer of evil that had been done, rather than a force for good in itself, for example, going to Duat to restore damage done to the dead as a result of their form of death. He was also said to call on suitable gods and goddesses required for protecting people in situation, effectively having a more distant role, nudging things along, rather than taking an active part. ...

My before last remark: Egypt stuff <-> Moses?
Moses, who will lead the people out of the desert?

Last remark: which obscure probably Irish novel was that in the beginning? Cue Lost fans swarming Amazon

She's an American writer but ya, obvious Irish origins. :p

The idea of the box from the last season that can produce anything you want that produced the real Sawyer/Locke's dad was from The Third Policeman by Brian O'Nolan (aka Flann O'Brien).

I love Lost. That finale was as going-to-kill-everyone-to-end-suspense-of-cliffhanger as the end of season 1 and 2. It's that time of year again. *sharpens hunting knives* I'm going to miss this after next year.

The guy who played Jacob was in an X Files episode I watched the other week. I knew he looked familiar. Everyone pops up in that show.

I'm going to have to re-watch all of Lost again before the year is out, and again right before season 6. And again and again and again...

I remember looking through those unanswered questions ages ago. The problem with answering is then there'll be no more questions.

Or more likely they'll find a way of answering everything, only to pose eighty more questions for every answer.

They probably had their own secret handshake and everything.

So, I was watching all of season 5 today and it got me thinking about the smoke monster/Anti-Jacob/"Moses" guy and how (un)convenient is seems that Hurley and Miles aren't in the time where there's a dead Locke hanging around.

Also, it could be possible that appearances of Jacob so far have not been jacob but enemy?
What if Jacob's the bad guy?

Watching all the episodes you can tell when it's Locke and when it's Guy-Pretending-to-be-John. He just seems like a prick, rather than a nice old man with whacky theories and no hair. Richard could tell there was something not-quite-right about Locke in the days leading to taking him to the statue but he still took him. Why?
How come we have Locke's dead body but Christian's body wasn't in his coffin? That's a pickle..I was ready to believe the appearances of Christian were anti-Jacob but how can we be certain..

And Ben. Oh, Ben. I just don't know. He really needs to get laid. Or get a hug. Or any kind of affection. "What about you?" was harsh. No wonder he bitch-stabbed the guy. Jacob must have wanted that to happen, surely he knew what Ben was like. He's a lonely little boy who never quite fit in, of course he's going to get violent and have a whinge when he feels unimportant.

Who are "they" and what are they coming for?

Wrong account:  its slackit.

Anyways, it really just didnt do anything for me.  I could tell that dude was Jacob because he was everywhere like "god."  Plus he brought Locke back to life.  He was totally dead when he fell, and Jacob touched him and whoosh! life
