I watched a documentary last night about African children's parents getting killed by the rebels, and then they're taken and forced to kill people as child soldiers, but then they escaped and went to a school and competed in a festivel about dancing and singing and stuff. It was sad and very good. It was called War Dance. :)

That's in every show/movie about africa. Except the festival. Usually the children become bloodthirsty monsters. I'm glad yours had a happy ending.

Yes, they won the trophy in Best Traditional Dance. They went back to the village and everyone was happy.

I saw a show last night about conjoined twins, they had one body but two heads. It was very weird seeing them. Then I watched some of the American Idol auditions, they are funny.

I completely agree with what you say about Mars Attacks KoolMoeDee, except for that B+ (or what's that in metric?)

An 86-89%, I dunno if that's metric enough for you...

Doubt
Child molestor or not, Philip Seymour Hoffman is awesome. I didn't care for Meryl Streep, Amy Adams or Viola Davis at all. If any of them win an Oscar, I will punch Books in his head.

Can I just stop by to say how much I hate, hate, hate Black Hawk Down? Terrible acting, poor character development and that Josh Hartnett guy aside, it's essentially propaganda in feature film length. It had strong support from the US military, and I'm not surprised considering the way it glorified war, dehumanised the Somalis... I think if you play the movie backwards, it just tells you to join the army over and over.

I disliked it the first time I went to see it, and after viewing it in one of my history in film classes, I think my head may have exploded with rage by the end.

F-.

Oh, I also hate that fucking Braveheart move, but that's another story.

I downloaded Doubt yesterday Birthdayclown, I'll watch it tonight probably and tell you what I think, okay? :)

And Black Hawk Down is one of my favourite war movies (as a kid, I haven't seen it in a few years), but I definitely see what you're saying there, and I will take it under consideration. How do you feel about Apocalypse Now, my favourite? :)

The movie Apocalypse Now was good, as a movie; a psychological study, etc.; but the story Heart of Darkness that it's 'based' on is one of my favorite things ever.

Wow. Remind me not to see it.     Not that I probably ever would anyway.

I'd always heard good things about it (Except from one of my friends, who from now on i'm going to assume is stupid), but i did't know what to expect. It's just so painful at parts and just batshit insane in others (Mostly the end). But just... fuck, the whole thing... It left me speechless.

And the other thing is, i've been listening to the soundtrack for about a year now, without seeing the movie, and thought IT was amazing, but putting it to the pictures. Fark.
