Does anyone other than me think that Bear is probably Seth MacFarlane trying to hype up his show? I mean, his name is Bear as in the neighbor bears.

Futurama fans don't...but the rest of the un-entertained world needs something to fill the void.

It wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that they all feel like Family Guy.  I mean, Futurama doesn't feel like the Simpsons (and I like both), while there is sometimes a similar sense of humor.  This works to Futurama's advantage.  With American Dad and probably the Cleveland show, why not just be watching Family Guy?

After having watched a decent amount of American Dad.... I can finally say that it actually isn't Family Guy rehashed.  Family Guy has more random flashbacks and more random references to random things for absolutely no reason.... American Dad episodes appear to usually have a plot of some sort.... and even though the family structure in American Dad was clearly based off the Family Guy one, the dynamic actually seems to have steered in a different direction; the alien and the fish being brian.. they lose screentime.... especially the fish... and the alien is nothing like Brian really.....  The girl figure also tends to be in the spotlight less.... The mom is not Lois; she's a lot more naive for starters.... and the Dad, even though he's a jerk, isn't quite as ignorant and moronic as the Family Guy guy.... also the kid is a nerd, not a dumb fatty.

This cleveland spinoff looks retarded though... Cleveland doesn't need his own show... and giving him a fat son ignores cannon from its predecessor, is stupid... it looks stupid... and Seth McFarlane can feel bad.

All that said, Robot Chicken is the true rehash of Family Guy..... only taken to an even further extreme than Family Guy did...  which is interesting because Seth Green works on both shows, and at the end of the Family Guy Star Wars special, Chris (voiced by Green, I believe) brings up that Robot Chicken already did that and gets into a short argument with Peter (McFarlane[?]).

Also, in a two parter episode of Family Guy, Steve and that Picard looking CIA guy do a short crossoveer while Stewie has infiltrated some government secret thing.  This was during a simulation type thing Stewie was running which they didn't tell you about until the end, but it was inanely obvious considering they killed off Cleveland and Stewie in the second part.... then to really kick you in the teeth Brian brings up that this isn't much different from dream sequences you see on Dallas, the Newhart Show, or any soap opera of your choosing on daytime television... then Stewie makes a reference to how the Sopranos ended their finale by cutting to a black screen at the end mid-sentence.... which Stewie ends up doing..... because that in a nutshell is Family Guy.

Clearly I've been watching television too much lately.... maybe this was educational for you?

I completely agree, cappy.

I know you'll hate me for doing this, but to correct you, Stan and Bullock were trying to stop Stewie breaking in and halting one of the sattalites. That bit I forgotten.
And Family Guy just references shows and put characters in weird situations and has... talking animals.

I predict that this show will replace American Dad for a while come March 2009.  Every March, American Dad is always replaced with some replacement show.

My fear is that this is going to be really unfunny and then the black people will say "You just don't like it because you're not black".  Just like anything with Tyler Perry or the Wayans Brothers.

I can't think of anybody LESS BLACK than the guy who voices Cleveland. :)

And while it might not be the best show ever, I can't believe King of the Hill is being replaced by something produced by Seth McFarlane. At least King of the Hill had writers and followed a logical sequence of events! :)

Not only that Mike Judge is the best!  I cannot believe that show lost to yet another show that will be cancelled a 1/4 of the way into the season.  And if people do choose to spend their time watching this, then let their brains rot into mush I say!  Ugh I just don't like MacFarlane's comedy is funny at all.

I still think Wiggum P.I. would have been a better spin-off.
