My girlfriend made me watch this.  It was actually pretty funny for a romance movie. It kind of reminded me of the TV show Friends but for Chicks.

And hey theres nothing wrong with seeing Jessica Sarah Parker for 2 hours! Va va voom! *gets hit by girlfriend*  :laff:

Niiiiice.  The girl in the leotard should win a Razzie award for "The Actress With The Least Amount of Acting Ability or Believability".  That's a real loser, and not in a good way; thanks for saving me the cost of the rental...

Futurama: Beast With A Billion Backs

I liked the first one better but I'm happy non the less.

It felt very laid back and not so crass as BBS or any of the episodes.

I'll have to watch again before I can really give this a score, but for now I'll give it.

7.8/10

The Devil's Rejects

I didn't see the whole movie, but from what I did see I took away this:  Rob Zombie arrived at two conclusions.  One is correct the other is incorrect.

He was correct in concluding that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is one of the best indie slasher films ever made and so much about it is deserving of references, emulation and cannonization.

His incorrect conclusion was that he could write a screenplay that would compare favorably to the work of a 5th grader.

Hi. I just saw the movie "The Fall"  yesterday and was really impressed with it. It seems like something Futurama fans would like since it has an interesting mix of adventure, science fiction/fantasy and comedy. And the cinematogrophy is amazing. There is no CGI in it at all. It is on limited release, so it is hard to find. The plot and the surreal dreams vs. reality aspect really reminded me of "The Sting." (Especially if it were blended with "The Princess Bride" and were written by the Brothers Grimm.)
The basic premise is that, at a Los Angeles hospital in 1915, a broken hearted, paralyzed young movie stuntman (he had a status hungry girlfriend who dumped him for a rich actor) befriends a friendly 5 year old Romanian girl with a broken arm. He has lost his will to live, but since he cannot walk, he cannot get to the hospital drug dispensary to steal enough morphine to kill himself. He decides to get her to do the job for him. So he entrances the girl with tales of a far away world that she imagines as he tells the story. Since she is so young, her images of the characters are very childlike and wondrous. The stuntman will not finish the tale, though, until the girl steals some morphine for him so he can "go to sleep" for a very long time. What makes it more tragic is that the two of them have actually started to develop a very touching surrogate father-daughter relationship and you can see the guy is actually very sweet and kind in a Philip J Fry way (he even has droopy hair horns), but bitterness has closed him up inside. She is too young to understand the situation, but she does not want him to die, and she realizes the fairy tale world and her faith in him are the only things that can save his life. The movie alternates between the real world and the fantasy tale, with the fantasy characters just happening to be people from the real world. The stuntman and the girl, for example, are a father and daughter masked bandit team. It was a really amazing movie. Have any of you been able to see it where you live?

Here is the trailer for it- sadly it does not show the comedy aspect of the story, but it does show the basic plot.

The Happening
LUIGI!
The two little kids getting shot was cool.
Hot dogs do get a bad rep.
Some of the suicide methods were hilarious when they really shouldn't have been.
Too funny for a psychological thriller.
Way to formulic.
Major Dud: No "WHAT A TWEEST!" ending.
Major Awesomeness: My friend's afraid of grass.

The Incredible Hulk

Better than the first one, but that isn't saying much. However, I prefer the other Betty Ross over Liv Tyler. It had a lot of action and better ending fight than Iron Man's. My favorite part was seeing Omar(The Wire) as a bystander.

Best part of the movie -

I watched Benders Big Score again to be sure and the results are conclusive: it was better than TBWABB, even with it's stupid shipper thing and silly musical numbers (they were no singin' Robot Devil numbers I tell you).
I also forgot about the space rip thing that connects the two films, heh.

Incredible Hulk

Ditto what Lazy said.

Immensely better than the first one.

HULK SMASH 7/10

Speed Racer

Long Beginning but it worked and helped the movie. The Race scenes where just fantastic and never bored me or seemed to go on too long, they where just right.
I hate it when you see an action flick and the action bits are to small and to far in between, these where great.

At the end I walked out very satisfied with nothing to bad mouth about, everything was explained simply and easily.

This is still a kid/family film at the end of the day, but one that I will defiantly be buying on dvd and not bootlegging.

I have to completely disagree with Fazeshift and my third favourite clown who hides under my bed, I thought The Beast With A Billion Backs was far superior to Bender's Big Score!   :hmpf:

From my viewing of it, it seemed much funnier and less spiteful than the previous offering, but I will refrain from giving a review or score yet because I've only seen it the once and my impressions may be biased by the company I was keeping. Will Fry's jazzical new popery vestments hold up to a repeat viewing!?!
