Oh, yeah!... Man, I should have voted for Omega Man! I don't even have a vid of that movie, but I always found it haunting and he gave his life in the end for the survival of the group he had become attached to during the course of the movie. I was hoping the old Omega Man movie would surface on AMC or Spike channel when the new remakes came out recently... you know, the cheap version and, also, the "bells and whistles" version( The one with Will Smith in it) of I Am Legend. I didn't even know there was a novel floating around that Omega Man was based off of for the movie. So I was grateful for the Will Smith remake because in the extras, they get into the novel and talk of the author. So, I must venture forth to find a copy of Omega Man and a copy of the old, dusty novel for whence the movie came forth. It's on my mental "to Do" list at least. Here's another link of Chuck Heston's death from a dif source: http://www.latimes.com/la-me-heston6apr06,0,3675317.story

I'll always remember him as the gun-toting redneck NRA President.
"From my cold, dead fingers!"
My favourite of his films is Planet of the Apes, of course.

Heston was a great man and a champion of American civil rights. He picketed segregation and marched with Martin Luther King before it was cool. In his halcyon days, he actively opposed racism in business and government and, as most of us know, spoke out against government infringements on the Second Amendment. His cold, dead hands have left big shoes to fill...so to speak.
I voted PotA.

I wish I could come up with a yelling quote, but alas it's been too long since I last saw the movie I voted for: Ben Hur.
He was good in Wayne's World too.

If we're talking about his movies though, my favorite is The Omega Man. The Ten Commandments would be a close second.
