Just watched Dollhouse and as a first episode it was alright- ok not great.

It had alot of ground to cover in the Pilot... I do felt it tried to explain alot of things quickly, hopefully enough to keep you interested while at the same time trying to keep you wondering what's going on.

I'll keep an eye on this show, watch the next couple episodes. Whether I like them or not will decide it's fate. Alot more will happen I think within eps, more character development... like I said, the first show had to cover alot of ground to get the viewer up to speed to understand what the heck was going on...

I really want to see how different the original pilot was. Oh well, i'm sure once it's cancelled after 6 episodes they'll put it on the DVD.

I agree that like most pilots it did have to try and cover alot of ground. Actually a little odd that while it was longer than most normal episodes (Apparently they are trying something new with adverts in the states) but still was not a two parter like Buffy or Firefly (or many other shows).

@ chay

If it is cancled maybe they will but if it is not it is less likely. After all they have never released the Buffy piolet (but with someone else as willow I am sure it would just be weird)

...they did release that...

I've seen it. It is weird with a different willow.

Also, i read somewhere that they may put the original pilot later in the series.

New Sopranos guest stars spotted:
- Miles from Lost (he crazy)
- Maya from Heroes (bitch, she dumped AJ!)

Also, Junior Soprano was in The Godfather, neat.

I like How I met Your Mother, I've never got into it, just seen a few episodes here and there, but I don't have much to do so I would watch it if it weren't for the singing contest at school tonight. I, sadly, am not performing, but I'm not sure if I'm going.

I am no good at singing, there are videos that illustrate it quite clearly. But thanks Bear, you are a very nice friend :)

I finished watching The Sopranos, I knew about the cut to black ending from when it finished but with no knowledge of what the ending was, but to see it was a bit disappointing, but understandable (reading the wikipedia analysis).
Good series.

Dexter next! :)

Also, does anybody think Laurence Fishburne is a cool addition to CSI?
We'll miss you Gil! <3

I don't understand Dexter... I never saw the first few episodes so I just don't understand what's going on.

He's a serial killer AND a detective? And nobody has ever found him out? Pfft. I don't get it.

The books are most certainly not better. I actually really do prefer the direction the show takes.

Dexter's one of those shows it's probably best to watch in order, though. Actually, you kinda have to. It's in a visual novel sort of style.

(And if he doesn't get caught by the end of the show, I'm going to be so pissed, because it really seems like they're setting up for that.)

No, sorry, you are wrong. Book Dexter is a MUCH better character. Much more sarcastic and awesome. The whole love triangle bullshite in season 2 was stupid.

I MISS DOAKES SO MUCH. My friend got me a 2009 Dexter calendar for Christmas, and April is just this headshot of him in sunglasses and smiling that smug smile of his, and I'm going to be sad every time I look at my calendar the whole month.

Hi Books.

No, sorry, you are wrong. Book Dexter is a MUCH better character. Much more sarcastic and awesome. The whole love triangle bullshite in season 2 was stupid.

I hated the love triangle crap and Lila's entire character in S2, too, but S2 is still my favourite season. (I think it's because it largely deals with the prospect of Dex getting caught, and that's one of the biggest reasons I'm so interested in the show, for the same reason I prefer the show to the books...)

I like the show more because it fleshes out the other characters. The books are more focused on Dexter-Dexter-Dexter, and that's all well and good, but I love how the show focuses on both Dexter (especially with the awesome voice overs) AND the supporting characters (and how they would all react to Dex being outed, because when they're more fleshed out, well, then it's more interesting. Like the Doakes/Dexter interaction at the end of S2 was amaziiiing and some of my favouritefavourite scenes in it).

BAH! BAAAAHHHH! The Doakes/Dexter relationship at the end of Book 2 was cooler. (So was the plot for book 2, utterly fucked up but awesome).

The reason that the love triangle shat me so much, and what i think ruins the show for me (I still think the show is great in its own right), is that dexter is human... In the books he continues to claim he's something else, and to him rita is just a convenience, to help his façade. He doesn't love her, he doesn't love anyone, so he'd never get caught up in a stupid love triangle...

I haven't read the books, but from what I've heard they're both two different, yet good perspectives.

One is the struggle of a man, who was bred to be an animal, who now strives at certain points to hold onto some claim of his humanity, and yet in order to do so must realize his animalism is an intense major portion of who he is.

The other is a cold animal, in human form, somehow imbued with strict defining rules of morality.

I could probably spend months considering all the philosophical ramifications of such characterizations.

Naw. I still prefer the S2 Dex/Doakes relationship over book 2.

Personally I find the characterization of a guy who's standing on the edge of humanity, occasionally dipping his foot in only to pull back out and proceed into it a little further each time, more interesting, so I'm gonna prefer the show. That and I'm convinced that it's this newfound humanity (because show Dexter has still spent a great deal of time being convinced that he wasn't human, and that Rita was a convenience, etc...) is what's totally going to bring him down in the end, which would be all kinds of awesome.

I hope I'll be awake at 8.30, How I Met Your Mother is on then. Last week I fell asleep before it started (worst week was before it). But I think I'll need a nap after everything today, stayed up until 6 reading some book I started at 2.30 because I had been out >_< and then I woke up at 8 and continued to read it until the interview about it.

No they don't. Some children's material is though. People have also been busy at making icelandic shows. They dub films more than shows. I think they dubbed the first three Harry Potter movies into Icelandic, but I never watch it dubbed because it's usually not well done and there are always the same people dubbing.

It is an amazing show. The tensest, most compelling TV I've ever watched. I always finish the seasons by watching 4 or 5 episodes in a row. It's just addicting.
