Such a dilemma! Tomorrow at nine: It's either this or part two of Masterpiece Theatre's Pride and Prejudice! Oh, cruel fate, don't make me choose!

An ugly (at least in my opinion) KITT and no Hoff...
Um... I think I'll choose Pride and Prejudice...

Oh Xanfor!!!! You started a thread that has piqued my interest. However, I will rant positiveness more of the old thread than the new movie/pilot.
Firstly, they killed it by using a Mustang. Personally I'm offended (and I'm quite sure Knight Industires Two Thousand is too) by this, not being a fan of Ford. Not that I despise them quite as much as Chevy (there's two sitting in the garage... I have to like Ford or suck it up). My take on Knight3000 was something familiar, but a familiar that seemed....not so great. K3000 (as it will henceforth be called in this post) was merely a non-feeling machine which asked obvious questions and stated obvious answers. At one question, Mike Tracer replies exactly how I would: in a sarcastic tone that implies that you've just stated the obvious. with his line of "No, ya think!?"
In many ways, the K3000 fails to live up to anything more than a poser in my eyes for many reasons. During the whole movie, all the car did was race around the contry changing it's colors to happy gay purple. The way K3000 acts is almost too reminicent to that of KARR, who was a prototype of KITT *pokes my avatar*. Wizzing through traffic was hardly something that'd keep anyone safe, and of course they can say it all they want, but I felt that if it drives that close to a mountain edge and drives like a maniac to get away from bad guys, then it's endangering to some extent, even with it's calculations, just like KARR was. All about himself and his passengers and nobody else.
What bugged me the most about it was the fact they ditched Turbo Boost. And every other cool gadget...and replaced it with..... nanotech? Sure it sounds cool, but hell, without the computer on, that damn thing doesn't work worth a crap, so you can't save yourself anyways. The car also becomes manual driver. Literally.
This is proved when Mike tries to stop the bad guys in the big touch Chevy 'Burban. With the computer off, nothing is available. So when someone shoots at you....windows shatter. Design flaw much? But yet, at the same time, when you ram someone, not a scratch gets on the body. It's self contradictory to itself. I also wonder why only two survived that crash in the same scene that should have totally killed everyone in the car. But yet the nerd dies and the guy that got shot in the head, but the main baddie lives and the father of the girl seeking Mike's help? Nonsensical I say!
Now, this may be long, and you may have skipped all the rest. Basically, this movie/pilot/whatever the hell you wanna call it was too dark and seemed to kinda go in circles. Get in the car, get out, get sought out by the bad guys, bad guys find you, run away, they follow, you get away by color changing, switch back, rinse and repeat. I also feel the whole "I'm your father" bit felt a bit non-cannonical.... Knight only wanted to marry Stevie in the series, a blond-haired girl whom he was engaged to before being shot in the face, etc. I'm not saying this movie fails like the concept of Team Knight Rider, but overall it was like a Ford commercial that didn't have a trace of the original series' charm, or really the concept of it. "One man can make a difference."
Ok, I'll stop here. Xanfor, anything from you? (Yeah, I go real deep into this one)

I choose Pride and Prejudice. That's why I haven't gotten back here yet.
A friend of mine recorded it though, so I may be back if I deem it worth a mention.

Anyways, if they did continue this as a series, they'd need to explain more than just where Devon is. They'd need to tell us what Bonnie's up to. Oh, and based off all the data I gathered from the movie, K3000 isn't made from KITT. He seems more like another KARR failure. I wouldn't doubt if the car turns on Mike... All I could say is... I TOLD YA SO!!! Yes.. i know Edward Mulhare died 11 years ago..what i meant.. since he cant come back.. and this movie voids KR2000 (within itself) they should provide a reason why there is no FLAG now and what happened to Devon.. some explanation why this guy took the torch of Devon with no mention of him Bonnie and RC alusions would be great too.. And i found disgusting swaping the semi for a Hercules.. ok they cant do it if its international or long distance travel.. but the semi was far better choice.. what kind of cover is a C-130 flying arround at 1m releasing a car? the semi was so much better fitting
