I do indeed watch this show. The mere fact that it combines the living dead (not to be confused with zombies) and a woman with an eyepatch did me in enough. It's a fresh show for TV. The art direction for the show is fantastic.

I was going to start a thread about this show, but was too lazy.  Thanks for doing it.

This is the one new show I watch regularly.  A unique concept with great visuals and fun characters.  Thankfully, the show is not on FOX or it probably would have been canceled already.  It did well enough for ABC to pick up the entire 22 episode run.  I don't know what the writer strike will do to this, but hopefully the original 13 that were ordered are already in the can.  That would leave 6 new ones left to enjoy.  Hopefully the strike doesn't do in this excellent show.

Edit:  Ooops, according to the wiki, only nine scripts were handed in before the strike.  The ninth was apparently retooled so it can function as a season finale if need be.  Woof.

It is literally the best-looking show I have ever seen. It is fuggin' beautiful. It puts other shows to shame. Shame, I say! It's like a little movie every week. And the two main ladies are [Borat]Very nice![/Borat]
I've been watching since the beginning, but I missed a couple of episodes, so I'm catching up now.
Mmm, pie.

Its another show that I added to my cant list.  Jeremy, I totally agree about how it looks.  Such vivid colors, and Im only looking at a 13inch tv.

A few episodes ago when Olive was singing while she was closing up was one of the funniest things Ive seen in awhile.

I saw the pilot. It was good. Too good, actually. I assumed the rest of the season would fizzle out since it looked like they spent all of their fresh ideas and visual effects budget on the first episode. Am I wrong? Is the show still good?

Maybe I'll check it out again.

No, the show's stayed strong. I especially liked the horse jockey episode.

The art direction reminds me of Tim Burton, especially with Big Fish. That's definitely one of the reasons that I love this show so much is that the design is so good. The stories are also very good. Both fantastical and realistic.

I like that the show plays in its cartoonish setting.  It doesn't try to be any more serious than the whacky ideas that the series story is based on.  There's no real need to suspend belief because you don't get the idea that you're supposed to.

Oh, yes!

I love this show!

The pie maker is awesome!!   :D

And I like how Chuck came up with the idea to ask people what their final requests were.

Anyway, I agree with everyone else.

I simply love the artwork on this show!  It's brilliant!  ^_^

And also, I've seen every episode of Pushing Daisies so far.

As i_c said the visual style is reminiscent of Tim Burton, and the story feels very Roald Dahl to me. Best new show I've seen in a long time.

I watched the opening episode last night and thought it was pretty good, I'll certainly be watching again. It seemed odd seeing Rochdale lass Anna Friel playing an American though  :p

Finally watched the first ep having had it sat on my DVD recorders hard disc for ages. Not bad, quite interesting. I shall continue to watch, although it really takes the piss that ITV's job is to shedule TV programs and they cock it up and we have to suffer. They'll be the ones pushing dasies if they're not careful!...

I like pushing daises but there is something about it that makes me not love it. It is a beautiful show to look at and it can be really sweet and funny. I love Olive. I want to like Chuck, but she annoys me.  But I am biased because I generally hate female leads.

Somebody beat me to making a thread about this... I'd kill you if this show hadn't taught me I might get caught! :)

This is the best show on TV! It has amazing production design, hilarious plot and dialogue, bizarre characters, and agoraphobic old ladies with eyepatches! By proxy high five!

I would have liked to have been in the writer's room when they developed the concept for this one: "see, he's a pie maker who solves mysteries by resurrecting the dead for less than a minute, and he secretly holds a torch for his childhood sweetheart, who he hides in his apartment because she's one of his resurrectees! We'll need unlimited funding and a complimentary muffin basket for guest stars!"

"Call the police! Tell them there's a vindictive person with low self esteem on the loose!"

I've been watching a bunch lately, catching up as I had class on Weds night the last semester.  Can't believe it got canceled.  :(

It pisses me off that networks don't put any effort into awesome shows.  Before the writers strike they advertised like crazy and got the good ratings.  They didn't advertise after the strike and nobody watched because it was like a year later and forgot.  What did they expect?

Yeah, it's bogus that the show got canned.  ABC showed their Foxness by canceling a bunch of shows and leaving their lineup of "medical professionals humping" shows still in business.

I wrote them to complain about it, but no response.  They know what their audience likes, trash.

Yah, thats what pisses me off.  They move Private Practice (horrible show) to follow Greys Anatomy, to give it more viewers.  Why arent they doing something like that for Daisies?

At this point, I dont think anything can save it because Brian Fuller signed back on to Heroes.

So much negativity... have some anti-depressant laced pie or something.

I'm doing my part for the series... the DVDs are on their way to me via the wizardry of eBay. The individual discs are designed to look like pie! :laff:

What I find interesting about this show is that it somehow reminded me of childhood, it is very distinctive and it wouldn't matter where you would start to watch it, you could see right away that it was Pushing Daises that was on.

And I think it's a really nice show and shame that it got cancelled :(

ABC, in an even more dickish move, have pulled the show from it's regular spot and aren't going to show the remaining 3 episodes.  Apparently they are obligated to show them at some time, but nobody knows when that will be.

And the show is no longer on their website either, so you can't watch the episodes that have already aired.
