Yeah Superbad was funnier, but I liked Knocked Up too. Like when the girl said she was pregnant and the guy said "Pregnant.....with emotion?" And the whole black bouncer part at the club was hilarious because it was so true.

I kinda know what you mean, MrBlonde - it didn't have the same feel of the mother and father franchaises... in fact some parts of it reminded me more of Jurassic Park. But I wouldn't call it a 'teen slasher flick'. 'Teen monster flick' yeah, but a good one.

I had low expectations but the movie was lower then what I expected. Granted I enjoyed certain moments. + Kiddie chest bustin. + Laser nets + Super steroid sewer bustin arm punch + Bums getting face hugged + Showing how crap the national guard is + Predator Whip and the bad - everything else Plus, I so would have caved the tooly guys face in before it got melted.

Hard CandyI'd heard this film being strongly recommended by Mark Kermode in his Radio Five film reviews so thought I'd give it a go on DVD even though it sounded somewhat gruelling. I'm glad that I did watch it as it was excellent. It was different from most films that I've seen in that it is basically two people in a house talking to each other with moments of action and one scene that will have male viewers crossing their legs. The film opens with two people flirting on line and arranging to meet up, one is a thirty something man the other is a fourteen year old girl.
Soon they are on their way to his place and it looks as if she could be in danger, but soon it is clear that he is the one who needs to worry after she spikes his drink, ties him up and starts quizzing him about the photographs he has. When she finds more incriminating pictures she gets more drastic in what she does to him. A+

That's funny, because I thought it was pretty ropey. Ellen Page was an irritating little spud, and I found myself wanting her to get her come-uppance. Sometimes I feel that Kermode gets it right, and in this instance I thought he got it wrong.
