It was probably her idea! She would only have to send half as many cards at Christmas. I give her time saving plan an A+!  :)

Just Saw AsVP:R

Twas enjoyable, went in with low expectations, and i wasn't dissapointed. Lots of midnless violence and death. Cute little twist ending, whether it means A(3)VP or just a little nod to Alien it was kinda cool.

Fantastic 4: D
Bad guy didnt really seem to do that much wrong.

The Golden Compass:B+
Loved the animal/daemon thing. Only thing I wasnt keen on was the lassie in the main role. She seemed to be able to switch her accent mid sentence. And she irritated me. Rrr.

I've not read the books, but my friend has, and the movie ended quite differently to the book, or rather the next movie will start with something pretty interesting* and make us rethink daniel craigs character...

EDIT: *Maybe...

I found Knocked Up amazingly funny. SuperBad was great but Knocked Up has a bit more heart and I need an even heart to dick ratio.

Yeah Superbad was funnier, but I liked Knocked Up too.  Like when the girl said she was pregnant and the guy said "Pregnant.....with emotion?"  :laff:  And the whole black bouncer part at the club was hilarious because it was so true.  :D

The Pirate Bay was advertising that movie on their front page. I thought it was just a slogan.    :hmpf:

Boo! What was there not to like? Kids got their chests 'sploded. Homeless people got killed, We can only assume that all those babies died horribly. And no character was safe! It was awesome.

On a side note: We're you really hoping for something profound and meaningful when you walked in to it? What did you expect?

I expected something on the lines of the actual Alien and Predator movies. Not some teen slasher flick.

I kinda know what you mean, MrBlonde - it didn't have the same feel of the mother and father franchaises... in fact some parts of it reminded me more of Jurassic Park.
But I wouldn't call it a 'teen slasher flick'. 'Teen monster flick' yeah, but a good one.

Yeah, but at least he died ever so painfully.

Poooooor Stoners  :(

I spose thie AVP was sorta folliwing in Predator 2 in terms of location. First P, Isolated in jungle, Second P in middle of City! So it's sorta upping the collatoral!

Hard Candy

I'd heard this film being strongly recommended by Mark Kermode in his Radio Five film reviews so thought I'd give it a go on DVD even though it sounded somewhat gruelling.

I'm glad that I did watch it as it was excellent. It was different from most films that I've seen in that it is basically two people in a house talking to each other with moments of action and one scene that will have male viewers crossing their legs.

That's funny, because I thought it was pretty ropey.  Ellen Page was an irritating little spud, and I found myself wanting her to get her come-uppance.  Sometimes I feel that Kermode gets it right, and in this instance I thought he got it wrong.

The ending of I Am Legend was such a cop out. They should have stuck with the original novel ending which was actually thought provoking.

I saw a cheap direct to dvd movie with the same premise called "I am Omega."

Who makes this shit? Is it the same people behind Transmorphers ans Snakes on a Train?

Surprisingly I was just reading about I Am Omega on Wikipedia. Jesus Christ. The director of I Am Omega was an actor in Transmorphers and the writer of I Am Omega is a Kick Boxer/EXTREME! Dodgeball player.
