The Simpsons Movie

Excellent, I enjoyed it immensely.  First half better than the last though. 8/10

Transformers

Utter cobblers.  Definitely a "disengage brain" movie.  Enjoyable, if you ignore the shiny people with their über-white teeth, and concentrate on the cool robots. 8/10

MEH!

Quoted for truth.  While I did enjoy it on the basis that I still enjoy the Simpsons, I found myself thinking that it was really no different than Family Guy:  The Untold Stewie Griffin Story, in that it should've just been a straight to DVD movie.  Yeah, the movie had it's funny bits and a semi-ok plot... but it's not "AMAZING!!!?!?@#!OMFG!!@#e!"

The movie was made for theater release.  The budget got shot up, and the animation was created for a theater audience (a lot more computer generated stuff I suspect).  In reality, the plot was the combination of several older simpsons' episodes' plots... but it was alright.

On top of that... Simpsons is more important than Family Guy; it's practically a national treasure.

Die Hard 4.0 aka Live Free or Die Hard in the US.

Pleasantly ludicrous. They've upped the scale again, where Terrorists took a building hostage, then an airport, then a city, and now a country. Mclaine is suitably hardcore badass, and a few scenes will make you wince despite the lack of blood in the film. Oh, and action one-liners a plenty! Yay!

Sadness: There IS cg in the film, buuuuuuuut it's pleasantly understated for the most part (baring a few crazy stunts involving cars, helicopters, and trucks and things). There's a lot of good old fashioned painful stuntwork in the film, and by God am I ever thankful for that. This film isn't realistic, but it IS grounded. Oh, and whoever originally thought of putting parkour into action films is a genius.

Bruce is Bruce, Timothy Olyphant is suitably steely, ruthless and menacing, if a bit of a weenie (man's only weapon is his brain, which is as it should be in one of these films), and no one else annoyed me enough for it to bother me. I find I don't hate Justin Long. Oh, and random Kevin Smith action. Who'd a thought? Much geekier than the previous films just for that alone...

So, yeah. Solid, REAL action, not overly glitzy or annoying, and well put together. Probably one of the best action films of the year, though the year isn't over yet (and I haven't seen them all. :P ) I'm giving it an 8 out of 10. Recommended.

Sunshine

Another film with far too much bright orangeness!  :p

Actually I like this one a bit better, the dude in it was quite creepy.
But nothin' spectacular about the story or anything.

Stardust

I loved it to death, for the most part.

Spoiler-heavy review follows:

In conclusion, WAS I NOT ENTERTAINED?

Yes, yes I was. Quite a bit, actually.  But the fact that I am a fanboy of the book directly results in me docking it some points.

New Zealand's worst nightmare Black Sheep

Sure, it's not a big film nor will it go down in film history as a masterpiece, but it still is an entertaining film...if you like rampaging, man-eating sheep.

Seriously, it's a funny film with decent creature effects, some gore...and lots of sheep. Baaah!  :p

Oi! Gocad, did it show in cinemas there or what?
The DVDRip is online and I settled had to settle for that!  ;)

Black Sheep
"Get the flock out of here!"

It was great, about on the same level as Plane Dead (which was recently retitled to "Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane" for some reason...)
I loved the random guys getting taken out by sheep flying in outta nowhere, and the sheep shagging jokes had to be done, lawls!  :D

9/10 indeed.

Bourne Ultimatum

Best of the 3, definitely (not to say the first two weren't rather enjoyable as well).  Glad I don't get motion sickness, that might have been a problem, otherwise.

Julia Stiles > Kirsten Dunst.

Yup, gotta agree with this.  I just saw it last week, and it's a total rager.  AND, Julia Stiles is not only a talented actress, but she's also quite the looker.  They finally figured out that they needed to give her an expanded role in this film; about freakin' time, if you ask me...

Undead

This is probably the worst movie I've ever seen, and I'm not trying to be funny.

I barely understood the plot... aliens quarantine a rural outback town when meteorites rain down and turn the populace into zombies or something. That is as best as I can figure. Actually I don't know if I should call them zombies because they had suprising supernatural speed whenever it was convenient to the plot.  :nono:

The acting was universally terrible... the only person in the main cast who could act convincingly was the policewoman, and she left pretty quickly. The worst offenders were the main hero and an overacting cop. The overactor was killed off pretty quickly in circumstances I still don't understand, but the main hero was ridiculous. Look buddy, you can spout as many tough guy one-liners as you want, but it's not going to work when you dress like Torgo.  :nono:

Overall, I would describe it as a horror-comedy gone horribly[/u] wrong. Every single joke falls flat, the satire doesn't work at all, and even the special effects lose their impact when you remember that there's better gore out there.  :nono:

I won't even go into detail about the agonising overactor who played the swearing cop, "acid" rain that was an excuse to get the cast naked, or the unbelievable use of action cliches. The one positive thing I can say about this is that thankfully this probably hasn't been released outside our borders. Probably.

If you do see it in your local video shop (the front cover has a guy in a fishing hat failing to look menacing) make up any excuse to convince them to get it out of there. ANY EXCUSE.

Final words: I have never seen a better use for the  :nono: smiley than this movie.

Superbad

Michael Cera is a comedy genius in waiting.

A movie which has more drunk chicks, gratuitous drawings of penises, killer offensive one-liners, and the best pair of dumbass cops in movie history.

I love this.  Awesome.  See it.

Yeah he is, check out his site ClarkandMichael.com, he does some short episodes with one of his pals, and there's guest stars a plenty, mostly from AD!

Meet The Robinsons
Hrmm, this was a pretty standard animated kids comedy, nothing spectacular about it, the only noteworthy character was the badguy, aptly named "Bowler Hat Guy".
The frog musical number was pretty good too, and the "Tom Selleck" bit made me lol.

Simpsons

Finally watched it yesterday.. it could be better but i was no dissapointed at all.. i had heard a lot of critics to the movie, for example many blame it for being "just like and extended episode", sorry its not.. it has a simpsons big plot with Homer and the family throught it..
Some people blame it for including not so many characters.. well for 90m they included a hell lot.. sure the movie should have last 2 hours or even more (Titanic was 3h 20 min for god shake and the LOTR ones were long too and i was not bored by them, even i could had pass the pause that was in the middle of return of the king )
