Laura was saying that they reference Futurama in it.  She got the DS version.

Sorry for the double post. There must be something wrond with PEEL on my compter the post before this one did show un until this one posted.

How is the game if anyone has it? I have Hit-and-Run and Road Rage and they're awesome so the one should be good too but you never know. They have it for PS2 right?

Not the best but it was good. (My favorite one was Treehouse of Horror XII [The one with Hex in the City, House of Whacks and Wiz Kids]) They killed so many people...

-Kang
-Kodos
-Kent Brockman
-Grandpa
-Wiggum (Homer and Marge has sex on his corpse! Eugh!)
-Skinner
-Homer (Twice
-Willie

I was starting to wonder if they were going to parody Mr adn Mrs. Smith in a Treehouse of Horror it made an ok story not TOH though. It would have been better as an episode.

What did everyone else think.

The Kang & Kodos one was good. The last one... not so much. The ending was kinda weak. As for the Mr. and Mrs. Smith parody, that was fine. Am I mistaken, or was this not the first THOH in which a dying Wiggum says he would've taken a bribe? I thought it sounded familiar.

Let's do a run down:
Kang & Kodos was pretty good. I'd give a B because it was only pretty good.
Mr. and Mrs. Simpsons wasn't good, in my opinion, for a TOH segment. I just don't get the horrorfying aspect of it. If it's something in the TOH, it should have something horrorfying to it, not just "oh, Homer and Marge are assassins. And there's a gun fight!" This was one of the worst segments ever, in my opinion. D, for effort.
The last one was funny, I thought. The church scene was pretty good, but the ending wasn't too strong. B

So, that gives it a final score of about C+. Definitely not the best TOH ever.

I really liked the first and last segemets the best. I can't believe that to prank Homer they dropper Spider Pig on his head. Why torture Spider Pig? Why? The Mr. & Mrs. Smith parody would have been better as an actual episode or something or have something horrifying happen. I hope that Kang and Kodos aren't killed off permanetly in TOHs.

I read that Sideshow Bob is getting killed off on the 25th! Nooooooooooooooooooo!!! I was hoping he would be the villian in the next Simpsons Movie, but he can't be if he's dead. This SUCKS! ...

They can't kill Sideshow Bob! I love him! He's awesome. The Simpsons needs a smart, young, villan. Plus if Bart doesn't have Sideshow Bob, I have no clue where that line of thought was going to go. How would Sideshow Bob die? Would Bart kill him? If Sideshow Bob dies, especially if Bart kills him, Bob's wife and son would take his place.  The next movie could be based around Bob's wife and son trying to get revenge on Bart.

That's a terrible idea. I still have my doubts they'd kill him, though. They love having Kelsey Grammar on the show, and we've already had an episode that's supposedly ended with him about to be executed, with no explanation as to how he got out of it. I'm still hoping the show ends after Season 20 though so if they do kill him it proably would've been his last episode anyway.

Anyway, Treehouse of Horror XVIII sucked. Every segment had a long build-up with little-to-no pay-off. All the jokes fell flat. It was just awful. I'll say E.T. Go Home was the best segment, but only because it sucked a little less than the others. D

I actually really liked THOH XVIII.  The third story was stupid, but I thought the first two were really good.

Tonight's episode was terrific!  I don't think I've laughed that hard at a new episode since, well, I cant even remember.  Its great to see the writers going back to character-driven episodes and abandoning that stupid Family Guy-esque crap.

I read this over at No Homers...

Quote
Joel Cohen appeared live via satelitte to discuss the current strike. In it, he said there's only enough new episodes lined up for the rest of the year, after that, that's it.

He also said that when the writers do eventually return, there will be such a backlog that there won't be any new episodes until this time next year which is November 2008.

Who would have thought this is what it would take to get The Simpsons off the air? For now at least...

That's suprising that they didn't write up more episodes especially if they knew this was going to happen.

I can't believe that they are going to kill Sideshow Bob. I wont believe it.

Here is the plot of the episode...

God I can't belive it. They have to have Cecil take his place to try to kill Bart.

I refuse to believe they're going to kill off one of the most popular villans... nay, one of the most popular characters in the history of the show.  There has to be a catch somewhere.

(Part of me is really happy to see Cecil back.  The other part remembers what season we're in and cringes.)

Need I remind you that almost every Sideshow Bob episode has been a mystery of sorts? If he dies, there's a good chance it's all fake, as an even greater plot to kill Bart (with the help of Cecil).

Well I refuse to believe it too but it's Kelsey Grammer's final appearance as Bob.

It is a real episode though:

But I think it'll be an elaborate plot to kill Bart. They wouldnt be stupid enough to kill off Bob.

If they do indeed kill Sideshow Bob, that could be the greatest reason why the show should've stopped with the movie. Why would they want to kill him? He's among the greatest characters of the entire series, along with Hartman's characters and Dr. Nick. Killing him off could indeed spell undeniable jumping the shark.

Agreed. The Simpsons are getting close to jumping the shark. Why did they have to kill Dr. Nick in the movie?

So it's good that I stopped watching it half-way through, then?  I don't want my opinion of the show to sink any further than it already has. :P

(I only tuned in at all because I thought Bob's episode was this week.  :( )

Maybe we can blame it on the Writer's strike... I mean, it kinda did feel like they stitched together fragments of two different shows. And it explains why nothing got resolved.

They would've had that script finished months ago. The writer's strike isn't going to effect any episode airing soon (plus, plot details from that episode were leaked looong before the strike).

The Simpsons, for me, jumped the shark back when they did that episode with Alec Baldwin and Ron Howard back in Season 10.
Executive Producer Al Jean has confirmed that Dr. Nick will return in the series.

They jumped the shark way back in Season 9 with The Princaple and the Pauper. Terrible plot idea, awful. I still enjoy the show to some extent, but I am equally disgusted and happy with the new episodes...

You can't really get angry at it though because the whole POINT was to piss off the fans. They succeeded in achieving what they intended with that episode. With these ones though, they're genuinely trying to make them good and are just failing completely. That's a lot worse.
