Planet earth was on the bbc about a month or so ago and I jus wondered what people thought about it because I though it was great. In FOCUS magazine it showed how they filmed things like sandstorms and stuff and even though it sounds really sad I thought it was great how they did it. Is there going to be another series?   :hmpf:

Blue Planet had two series I think so I expect this will too.

You've got to remember how much these programmes cost to make. I wouldn't blame them for only making one, even with viewing figures so high.

What I saw of it looked great. I love how David Attenborough can weave a story out of any situation.

It's just sad that technology hasen't advanced enough to give us video/DVD recording. Plus topgear is repeated.  ;)

I thought it was great, and yes there is going to be another series. It said at the end of the last episode it would return in the Autumn (at least I think it was the autumn).

That's because you live in America, as opposed to England.

Yep, it's a classic English production. Everything right down to the tone of David Attenbourgh's (sp?) is English, Jolly good show old chaps.

It wasn't on at the same time as Top Gear. You're just stupid.

Plus, both shows are repeated. So you're extra stupid.

I believe there is a new series in the Autumn. Now I just have to wonder about the sanity of someone who treks to the Paki-Afghan border, risks being shot by coalition forces, kidnapped by Al-Qaeda, freezing in snowstorms, or being attacked by snow leapords, just to get camera footage of the latter. Nuts. Just nuts.

But boy am I glad they did so. My biggest surprise during the program was how uncomfortable my Brother felt watching animal X chase down and eat animal Y. Supermarkets and farms kept well away from where we live have given humans a rose-coloured view of carnivorism. It's ugly, but natural, no matter what way you look at it.

Indeed and it's one of the rare occassions NATURAL behaviour has been shot because they used long distances cameras which means no animals were scared by helicopters etc.

I don't really think that these people are nuts. On most locations there is a danger but the experience of visting the most beautiful natural scenery in the world first hand, outweighs it all. Sorry that sounds really cheesy.

Yeah I really enjoyed that too, the BBC do put out some good stuff. Some like channel4 better but for me, if you bother to make a 7th series of Bigbrother then your scrapping the barrel a bit.

Best fucking show in the world. Polar bear versus Walrus. The Walrus as a collective won against the single male and desperate polar bear. Poor thing.

I just watched that and it was pretty saddening. Had nothing to eat and just died of exhaustion/starvation but.....such is life.

Decided to buy the complete series the other day. It's amazing. Get it everyone. Best £30 I ever spent. I know nobody's really interested but......there you go.
