EMMY NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED TODAY! The bad news is, we've only gotten four nominations, and were snubbed of several well-deserving categories (eg. no Jason Bateman for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy?!). The good news is, I think we're a shoe-in for the categories we DID make: BEST COMEDY SERIES BEST WRITING IN A COMEDY SERIES (Development Arrested) BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES (Will Arnett) BEST SINGLE-CAMERA PICTURE EDITING (The Ocean Walker) So, there you have it. Should've been better, could've been worse, but either way, I'm VERY happy to see Will get a nod this time.

I dunno, I think it might be some tough competition with "The Office" for best comedy. Will Arnett deserves to win a banger-in-your-mouthful of awards for the tremendous performances he gave.

Apparentally Emmy reception to The Office wasn't so good. And, as much as I love that show, The Office is returning for a new season. Arrested Development isn't, and quite frankly, deserves it so much more.
If Will Arnett doesn't win, I will eat an igloo.

FOX Licenses Axed Cult Comedy To MSN And Cable Outlets HDNet and G4.
The Bluth Family Will Return.
The Bluths In a first-of-its-kind deal, Fox has licensed all 53 episodes of its much-loved comedy Arrested Development to MSN, HD Net, and G4. This is the first time a Web portal has grabbed rights to a recent show, and the first time a show will run simultaneously on the Web and cable.
MSN and HDNet will begin airing the show in September, and each has a three-year rights window. MSN will offer the show free to its subscribers and plans on creating a community-driven Web space around the show. HDNet will air the series in high definition.
G4 will begin running Arrested in October, also with a three-year window.
Arrested Development told the tale of the highly dysfunctional Bluth family, headed by prison-bound George (Jeffrey Tambor) and held together by long-suffering Michael (Jason Bateman). The series ran on Fox for three seasons and always attained critical acclaim, winning the Emmy for best comedy in 2004. It never received high ratings, though, and Fox pulled the plug this year.

As much as I like My Name is Earl, Arrested Development is so orgasmically well-written, ESPECIALLY the final episode, so I do feel cheated there. But still, 6 Emmys in 2 years for such an overlooked show is a proud achievement, and hey, I can't say I really thought we had any in the bag (except for writing... fucking hell, Development Arrested was so amazing).

"It ain't," not "It's not," you hook-ass-mutha! And I wouldn't mind betting that Gob didn't really write that much more for it... Though if you do want it, I've got mp3s all the music from the Season 1 and 2 DVDs, and all the credit songs (the one exception being the "Hot Cops" song, unfortunately ).
