a sweeping 180° shot shows both ends of the island. Could someone who know this, tell us what the draw distance is of the earth, like how far off the "Edge" of the world is. ie, how far away the join in the island would have to be for us not to see it.

When Ben was shaking that poor bunny in the cage, i was so sure it was suddenly going to grow huge and into a polar bear or something and eat everyone. Then after it had enough of that room, and wandered down the hall to see what else it could find, Ben would turn to Sawyer and say "That's whats gonna happen to you buddy if you don't cool your chops".
!!!

Also, good episode. I never thought of multible islands.

It's kinda hard to tell what's real or not. And Ben did point out, they do consider themselves to be great con men.

But what made me think is, that if the there are two islands, then how did the girl (presumably the French woman's daughter) get from one island to another?
After all, so far she has showed up but on both islands...or did I miss something?

Well my guess would be that Jack is not being held in a submarine but and underwater facility that connects the two islands together, perhaps with access points over the main island that allows them to appear and disappear quickly.

His story had soooo much potential, Lost really shot themselves in the foot with that one.  They are making this show have WAY too many questions without answering enough of the old ones.

Meh, seeya eko, he was cool and i always loved his backstory, but it didn't actually have much else in it. Glad to see a random return of mr smoke monster, and glad to see ol one eye. Not glad that those two random background actors with lines. it angers me. If they become main anytime soon, fuckers! Hopefully its just a ploy so they can kill them off later and we'll be like "Oh, those guys, but they were sorta nice, i think..."

I'm glad that Bejamin is still an arsewank, and that it's possible that the others really aren't the "Good guys".

Fun to be had! can't wait for the mini cliff hanger in two eps time!

Heh, I had the same thought.

I know some of you guys (and girls) are upset about the recent developments, but I do think that people are rather ungrateful.   

IMHO the Eko (*FIXED*) story had a nice closure, so what happened was okay. And they also reignited the FSM discussion. Of course questions remain, but the season is far from being over.

Not to mention that it's a great thing that there is a show whose characters are mortal.

sure this show is annoying me with its endless questions and little answers... but it's still fun to watch.

i think it was kinda sudden killing off ecko, but i probably should've paid moer attention to this episode to see if it ws proper closure or not! i think so, but it still feels like his story could have been further extended and it wasn't fully over with yet.

and oh nooo jack and kate!!!  i thought they said this season was supposed to be jatey..

Anyway, I wish he survived in some non-physical way, because that would be cool, and you can't deny that the FSM™ has a mental or psychological component, he totally tricked Eko into thinking he was Yemi... he had the right clothes and everything, crafty FSM™!

And if the FSM™ can fool Eko into thinking it was Yemi, I wonder if it's done it before with someone else?

Thanks Slackit02, I thought that a story line with people who arrived at the island a different way [other than the main plane] would have played a bigger part but I guess not because 3 out of 4 of those links involve a dead person.

FazeShift, you bring up a very good question involving the FSM [your $50 is in the mail] but again it's just another question with probably an answer that will never come or never be complete.

Like I said, it seems to me that this episode did give a glimpse of the nature of that BCT™  , but one can't be sure about it.

I'm so glad they finally brought 'ol smokie back after it buggered off early on season 1 (didn't show up in season 2 at all did it?). Hard to remember all the stuff that's been happening, though - I figured the smoke monster was a seperate entity to the jungle monster, forgot most of Eko's backstory and bleh - I'm amazed the American public has the attention span to keep up with stuff like this.

[I'm a little annoyed with how it killed off Eko instead of Charlie (we're done with his story, too... and he's more annoying!) but hey, their names are both in the phonetic alphabet, so maybe soon 

And what about that blonde other trying to convince Jack to kill Ben? I'm thinking it's just reverse psychology in order for him to want to actually save Ben by going against this Sarah lookalike that's been stringing him along. No idea if the writers would make it that complicated, but something seems odd about it, anyway - if you want someone with terminal cancer dead, you don't exactly have to put in much effort to make it happen, just stare at a clock for a few months...

As far as FSM I have a theory.

Ok, so smoke can take on forms.  Since Eko saw Yemi, and the alter boy, and the thugs, I think the smoke monster was just emulating people it say in Eko's mind, without knowing the relationship.  Thats why at the end, Yemi gave the 'You talk to me as if you were my brother' comment.  The FSM doesnt know that it really IS Eko's brother.  So, because of that, I think the FSM is a metaphor for...or just is Judgement.  The FSM Yemi was ready to take Eko with him to a better place, but Eko refused to ask for forgiveness.  (Which is total bull.  Eko knows the God rules, I dont think he really would have said what he did.)  Since he refused to play nice, the FSM Yemi walked away, and the FSM killed him.  I think it also means that Eko was going to die whether he asked for forgiveness or not.

I think the FSM is more about taking people rather than just killing them.  It didnt just pick Locke up and beat him to death, it was taking him somewhere, probably to take on form of someone and figure something out.  The FSM could also have been emulating Walt when Shannon was going wacky, Jack's Dad, Kate's horse, and Dave.

Zmithy, SBCMT™ (Strange Black Cloud Monster Thiny-y) was in season 2, that was the first time we actually saw it, Eko stared straight into it. Also, are we certain that Yemi = SBCMT? or visa versa, i thought before it was just sorta hullucinations.

What slackit meant was that we saw the BCT™  appearing in the reflection of the water right behind Mr. Eko, but it vanished because Locke and the other guys were approaching.
I think it is quite obvious that the BCT™ was specifically after Mr. Eko and no one else.
