Cynthia Watros learns the hard way not to be cast for some other show while she's on "Lost." Blammo!

The Ana-Lucia thing was pretty obvious, as people have been begging for her death since day 1...er, day 48. With Eko looking to be in trouble from the preview for next week, could Bernard be the only surviving Tailie?

Oooh....evil Michael. I knew Vincent had something to do with it!

As Slackit02 said, this episode definetely made up for all the reruns and average episodes.

There were so many connections in this episode, with my favorite being when Jack's dad opened the door, and Sawyer slamming right into it.

Was that really Claire that Jack's dad was talking to?

Jin's thumbs up to Hurley was hilarious.

Unfortunately, I can't remember much else at this time, but I do have two final paragraphs. (I'll be back after I do some online check-ups and talk to someone about it.)

What the hell was the purpose of killing Ana Lucia? Was it because he was pissed at her, or was it the more likely reason that Michael was told by The Others to kill her since she killed them? Maybe Michael has some sort of deal with them, in that he will be given back Walt if he acts as a spy. (Although that part may not seem plausible, since I doubt The Others would give Walt up.) I believe that Michael shot Libby because he got scared, right?

Finally, in the last scene, it looked like Michael shot himself. Did he, or did he shoot "Henry"? Did he do that to try and frame him or one of the people he shot, so when Jack and the rest of the group come back, they would not suspect Michael?

Again, an excelent episode. I know I'll be buying the Season 2 DVD when it comes out. It seems to me that this season is full of new information and puzzles.

Oh yeah, and what other characters were featured in this episode. I have a feeling I missed a few.

Jacks dad wasnt yelling at claire - he was yelling at an older, blonde aussie women, demanding to see his daughter.  Also Michael shot himself in the arm - you can see that, plus hes in a sling the next episode.  He obviously killed ana because 1)viewers hated her and 2) to make it look like Gale had done it (hence him shooting himself in the arm)

I tried dialing that from Australia, but it won't work. i did 0011 (out of AUS) 1 (into the US) then 1877 42 67 67 4.

It's my own damn fault though. I hope they do like last year and replay the episodes during the summer. That's how I started watching the show to begin with.

Jacks dad walked up to a house that looked a lot like the house that Claire was living in.  He was screaming at an older blonde women - who wasnt Claire - but certianly looked like she could have been her mother.  He kept yelling "I pay for this house, everything, I want to see my daughter"  The daughter has to be Claire - why else put that part in?  Theres no other blonde aussie girl on the show that could be his daughter - and having a daughter that wasnt on the island now would be completly pointless - hence Claire and Jack are related

The actress who plays Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) chose to serve time instead of community service for her drink driving incident, possibly the actress who plays Libby too, they have to go to real life prison hence the killing off (maybe).

Both Ana-Lucia and (especially) Libby were killed because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But maybe the were drunk that night when they were arrested because they had been told that they would be killed off at the end of the season. Who knows?

I hate to tell you this, but actually Libby had probably a far more painful death than Ana. It looked like Ana got shot straight into the heart, whereas Libby got shot into the stomach. Very unplesant.

And your average 9x19mm FMJ round is not stopped by some blankets. Actually they can penetrate quite a lot. It's just never depicted properly in TV shows and movies.

i don't rekon she's dead. There was something in the blanket that stopped the bullets, it was two shots specifically in the blanket, so everyone thinks she's shot, but then they can back themselves up when she's not dead because it was inconspicuous.

Also the jack claire thingy. PSSSHT! She's a blond Australian with a daughter, you saying us 'strains are all the same? RACIST! I'm saying a definate no, i'll just need a tiny bit more evidence. Someone go back and watch the claire centric eps and see if we see mother or father, or any reference to mother and father. (I've got 50baht riding on this!)

Also, Was the bar that Ana and mr jack stopped outside of (the one where sawyer got door'd) the same one they shared that sappy drink in the sawyer centric ep?

I agree with you on this. Aside from the blonde-ness, there's no reason to believe that the woman Dr. Shepard ran into was Claire's mother. I didn't hear a whole lot of the conversation, but there was nothing to confirm what everyone's said. Aside from the fact that everyone is tied together, it's unlikely that's what happened.

I think its complete confirmation.  Why else would they put it in the show?  How else would it be significant enough to put there, for Jack to have a half sister - if she just lives in Aus.  Like who the hell cares.  No - its Claire, and when you find out Im right I get to punch Chay in the face. everything happens for a reason. In plays, or books, or movies they don't just do random things to fill space. So if the whole flashback pretty much is about Jack's dad going to Australia to see his daughter then I'm sure his daughter is a "person of note" to the plot of the show. It's a much better change that Claire is his daughter than her being an entirely new character.

Of course. Tell no one, but Libby had hidden a steel plate under those blankets, because she knew that she would accidentally walk into Michael who was just shooting Ana and who would then be so surprised by her sudden appearance that he turn around and shoot her twice, too.   

Seriously chay, Lost is not the X-Files, people really die on this show.

What a cool episode.  So much action and secret-telling.

Once again, the Others' concept of "good ones" comes back into play.  It makes me wonder what their criteria are.  Maybe people who have faith in the IoM?  And where do you think the Others are?  How much of Michael's story is true?  I thought something was fishy from the get-go.

So what the hell was Jack's dad's "business" in Sydney?  Was it just to hassle possible-Claire's mom?  He wouldn't need much protection from Ana-Lucia for that.  Maybe his business was just to run away, but who needs a bodyguard for that?

I also like the timeline continuity in Sydney.  The Sawyer vs car door thing was funny but not entirely necessary, but the torrential rain made me think that somewhere nearby, a shrimp salesman was about to have a bad night.

Also, I liked Hurley's "private beach" sequence.  Especially: "Hurley, this is our beach.  Look, there's Jin."  Then the ensuing thumbs-up...outstanding.

My reasoning.

I at least beleive that Henry gale is above the run of the mill others, (Zeke and Ethan) because of things such as "your computers, your hatch" and when locke mentioned zeke "the guy with the beard" henry said something along the lines of "Him? He's nobody". And also "God can't see this island just like everyone else". I think he's someting above the Dharma initiative.

Then there are just the others, scientist who have been there for a while, testing people blah blah, psychobable bullshite.

Now to the other suvivors, i think it could be possible that zeke saying, stay away from out side of the island, could really be "Stay away from the other side of the island, because there are other poeple there who we have told to stay away from YOUR side". Michael was saying the looked just like them, but scruffier. It could just be the others continuing to wear stage props to give the illusion they are plebians. But who knows!

I'm not completely ruling out claire and jacks family reuninon. i just think it'll be related some other way.

I would not overestimate or put to much weight on what 'Henry Gale' said. No matter what he said, it was merely intended to confuse his captors and to drive them crazy. Thus I doubt that he would reveal something of importance. The only time (at least that's what I believe) he did not lie, was when said 'lockdown'. This revealed that he knew the hatch and what was going on.

But I have no doubt (or should I rather say that it would not surprise me) that Michael was sent by the Others back to free him.
I'm not saying that they brainwashed Michael, but he's clearly at a point where he would do everything to get Walt back, who's the only thing left in his world.
