The torrent I... saw had the full episode (45 and a half minutes, compared to the usual 42 and a quarter). My recording cut out early as well, right when Libby kissed Hurley.  I had to find the trailer (the only real advantage to recording over downloading) on the internet.

The episode was alright... I was disappointed that they went with the obvious 'Dave doesn't exist!' route, I was hoping they would come up with something new.  Near the end of the episode (mainly in the scene with Libby at the cliffs), I was trying to think back to try to remember if anyone besides Hurley ever talked to Libby.  It would have been interesting if she had (for example) died during the trek back to the cool side of the island and Hurley had been hallucinating her. It wouldn't work out perfectly, but would have been different. But, we'll see how they went.

I always set my VCR for 8:59pm to 10:10pm just incase an ep runs long.

I thought it was a cool episode. nothing significant, but not a waste of time. Poor Lock, this is not his week. First his legs, then the timer news from Henry (or whatever his name is.)

His line about god was a little creepy, I'd love to see his back story. But I doubt that would happen since it would too damn interesting, instead we get one for Rose and her hubby.   :nono:

It wouldn't work at all because it means Hurley would have hallucinated her, the island, the trek, and her dying on the trek aswell! No?  :p

If you're going to hallucinate something, hallucinate it properly!

Actually the Simpsons reference was probably a Lassie reference.

Also, I think it's pretty obvious Mr Eko is building a church. With Charlie.Ooh symbolic.
Or a whorehouse, given how unpredictable the show can be.

Some things I noticed

Locke said to Jack: "They might escape", then said "he might escape"

The island photo on the doctor's wall.

and I pulled this from Wikipedia:

"In "The Whole Truth", Sawyer is reading Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret, a teen novel about menstruation, when Sun asks him for a pregnancy test. He calls the book "predictable".

Not in my world it's a Lassie reference, Simpsons!  :p

Slackit: Apparently he stepped out onto a rickety deck of some sort that had a lot of people on it, and Hurleys added weight made it collapse and two people died from the fall (I assume).

Imaginary Dave was a bit predictable I thought, Jacks hallucination of his father was better though, because he scared the poop outta me when he started appearing, like the Gman.

Hey, it was just a quickly thought-out example, hence the not working properly.  I suppose that he could have met her, and heard the story of the trek before she died or something, but anyhow, it was just a theory that was proven wrong moments after I started to think about it. It could have been done if it had been planned that way from the beginning, though. However, that's less likely than the entire kit and caboodle being Hurley's personal brain party at this point.

Well, at least we know that it's not Hurley that's just dreaming the whole thing, which leads me to the conclusion that it's actually Libby!

stupid question:

Didn't Hugo say in an earlier episode that he had worked in the mental epsiode where then picked up the numbers?

Makes me wonder whether Libby is really an clinical psychologist or if her knowledge is merely based on what she picked up during her in time in this institution.

To Gocad;

A) In "Man of Science, Man of Faith," (aka, the 2nd season premiere), Hurley tells Jack that he 'spent time in a mental institution,' implying that he was a patient there. The only reason I remembered it is because I recently rewatched the early Hatch episodes after the map was revealed.

B.) We don't know. She did claim to be a psychologist when she crashed with the Tailies, so maybe she's just a psychologist that had a nervous breakdown or something.

Thanks for clearing this up, evan.

It's just because I kept asking myself whether these flashbacks are true or not, after all, there seems to be nobody on this island who has not a few skeletons in his or her closet.

But after seeing 'Dave' I'm inclined to believe that Libby is not an a studied psychologist as she said.

Nuh-uh. We first found it out in Numbers, waaaaaay back in episode 18, series 1. Remember him going back to ask Leonard about the numbers? Yeah.

I haven't seen that episode for a while, but I'm pretty sure that Hurley never directly said he was a patient at the institution. Knowing "Lost," it's possible he was an orderly, or visiting someone else there, or what.

I guess you're right:

LOST recap for Ep 1.18 'Numbers':
FLASHBACK to a hospital. Hurley stands at the reception desk asking for a patient named, "Leonard." [...] A doctor arrives and recognizes Hurley, agreeing to let him see Leonard. It's not clear how Hurley knows this man, or the doctor for that matter,...

'Lost' is starting to make people recall past episodes. In essence, that makes the series a really long movie, which requires people to remember a lot of things. Some people may have a good memory, but I sadly don't.

Dave repeated an old Desmond line, "see you in another life", but without the 'brother' bit i think.

Highlight of the episode for me: Hurley man-tackling Sawyer to the ground.

We also got some important info about some of the characters, like Hugo and Libby.

In their own words:

Hugo: "I'm not crazy!"

Conclusion: Hugo is crazy.

Libby: "You can trust me."

Conclusion: Don't trust Libby.

Some cool things:

The numbers again:
The deck was ment to support 8 people, but had 23.

Sawyer getting beaten up  :D

Sawyers line "i can start my own minimart, you rekon sayid would want to work there?"  OOO! Racist and funny!

Well i just may be stupid, but i didn't see the dave twist coming.

i also think it will be a church.

Still waiting for desmons "Lift ie(t) oop" to have some relevance other than jack elevating his leg that one time.

Libby's not made-up by Hugo is she?
Nah, she came from the Tail section survivors.

There is some speculation on the net that Hugo may be imagining the relationship developing between him and Libby.

Sawyer is the best excuse for racist and other derogatory jokes ever.

And who the fuck would want to be called Libby. I would castrate my parents if I were her.

Good point.

But even without the official word it's quite obivious that Mr. Eko is building a church.

If that building were upside down, well, then I would say he's building an ark.   :p

If the Diary on the ABC site is anything to go by, it's a church. Damon and Carlton may not have anything to do with it, but it is written by the writing staff. They haven't said anything about it on the podcast so far, I believe.

You idiots!  It's a jungle gym.  At the moment, the adults will be the only ones to play on it.  Then when Aaron gets a bit older, they'll all pretend they're too grown up to like jungle gyms.  Then when Sun's baby, Michael Jr., finally reaches adulthood, the now-elderly adults will resume their playground antics, resulting in dozens of broken hips.  Eko will then have to grow dozens of beardy-braids in memory of the shattered femurs, and Sawyer will steal everyone's bananas.  Also, Jack will turn out to be Kate's brother or something.
