Futurama: Area 88

Well, i dont know if anyone here knows about this small jewell of animation..

Area 88, is about a pilot, Shin Kazama, who is doomed to perform a 3 years tour of duty for the royal air force of Asram, because his friend tricked him to sign the contract in order of get rid of him and get his girfriend and her father`s bussines.
so Shin must serve 3 years in the civil war to getaway and go back with his girl, that or win 1,5 million dollard to win his freedom.

This story was first writen as a manga in 1980 i guess, after in 1984 came a three episode OVA, and in 2005 came a 12 episode series. Wich i personaly prefeer because shin is better portrayed, is more sense and i like much more the new ending.

What i specially i like of this series is that its ambiented in 1980 so we see in action the good old glories of jet Fighters, F-4 Phamtons, A-4 Skyhawks, F-5II Tiger II, F-8 crusaders, Mirages, even a F-14A Tomcat fight against MIG-21s, MIG-23s and even Harriers

The new series music is a lot "modern" trance, but in all i like more the new series it uses 3D air combat.

Specially in the 4th episode, in the beggining you see a Frightening dogfight between a F-8E Crusader and 6 MIG-21s and you can see in one show al 7 aircraft rolling to get firing position at once and hw the Crusader cant follow in vertical a MIG-21 (wich is true, sinze the MIG-21 has better weight to thrust ratio than the Crusader)
