Not sure I liked the episode of House being dumped and the reaction episode of him getting hotel room and hookers, then cannon-balling into the swimming pool from his room balcony (the old fake suicide ploy)... reset the show back to season 5.
Yeah, I was starting to get a Scrubs vibe..you know, when all of a sudden Elliot and JD got back together even though they'd been apart and shown no interest in each other for 3 yearsish.
I understand it's House's character to be all dark and gloomy...but there is meant to be such a thing as character growth, so we better damn well see it.

In saying that, I haven't watched the latest episode yet. Maybe this arvo when I get home from uni.

Lovely ending to yesterday's episode, that surely will screw with Masters.
I'm not sure if they'll follow up with that ending, the writers could just leave it and have the characters be all like "yeah, oops... :/ "

Like the "guy who shot House" episode, didn't they wrap that up at the end by saying "he just got away!" and we never found out why he really got shot?
Or was his mind trip the official explanation? Should watch that episode again.

They don't have to follow up with it, all they have to do is make the character change a bit by it.

That was pretty cool. Although I already thought

I don't know how they would follow that up while keeping within the confines of the fact that it's a medical-type show and not Law & Order.

They could Masters become more paranoid about patients and not trust anyone ;)

Pfft, boring.

She should already be paranoid after House tricked her into not being able to quit in the episode when Cuddy's mamma was sick.

Yeah.

But you can't do things like that every episode.

Unless that's how your show has always run...

I watched it once, a week ago, and I remembered it! Which is actually pretty good for me in my old age. When I was a kid I remembered everything, like that lady a few episodes ago, but these days I'm lucky to know what day it is.

Quote
House: Will Season Eight Be the Last? Hugh Laurie says…

Earlier this week, we reported that House had been renewed for an eighth season on FOX. The announcement came after weeks of negotiations between Universal Media (the TV series’ studio) and the network.

Reportedly, FOX wanted a discount on the per-episode licensing fee. House has declined in the ratings and FOX execs know that the show makes a boatload of cash for the studio in syndication. A new deal was finally reached and the network will pay about $5 million per installment which is approximately the sum that FOX wanted to pay.

New contracts with some of the show’s co-stars also had to be worked out. Hugh Laurie has a three year contract but that will be up at the end of next season which means they’ll have to renegotiate with him if they want a ninth season. He’s apparently tired of spending 10 months a year away from his family and Laurie told the UK’s Radio Times, “The end of (the eighth) season, right now, looks like the end of the show… That is as far as they have got me for.”

Considering how long it took to iron out a financial deal for season eight, a ninth year doesn’t seem very probable. In addition, executive producer David Shore’s contract finishes this season. A new deal is being worked out and Deadline reports that it would see him “return and finish the series.”

I was just thinking "I wonder how much longer they'll do the show for.." and for some reason I imagined them killing House off to end the show :O_o: It was probably because I was watching him inject himself...but then at the end of the episode the rat was dead. So..uhm...that was an odd coincidence I guess.

Well, if it ends it should end in a shocking way, like suicide or something.
Please just not a happy ending where he gets together with Cuddy and they live happily ever after.

Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid shootout ending with House and Wilson!

While Cuddy and 13 make out naked in the background, and Foreman, Chase and Taub wrestle (not naked) for spinoff rights.

At least have Stephen Fry in an episode before the show ends. Doesn't need to be long, just walking past House and him stopping and looking back saying "That guy looks familiar" would be enough ;)

Haha, that would actually be perfect.

House: "My leg hurts!"
Fry: "Both my legs hurt!"
House: "The muscle in my right thigh is missing!"
Fry: "The muscles in both my thighs are missing!"

etc. etc.

Park is a nice addition to the team indeed. Was obvious that Taub and Chase would come back.
Foreman as the new boss works quite well too.

Not a big fan of Adams though.

Lisa Edelstein — whose long-term contract expires this month — has opted not to return for the show’s eighth and likely final season.
In a statement, the actress says, “After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead.”

they might squeeze her into an episode or two at the end, but I wouldn't count on it.

And unless something changes, yah, this is hugh laurie's last signed season as well. Hasn't officially said no to extending it afaik, but I think it's about time to let it go.  Was surprised they couldn't get lisa signed for one more season, though.

House's "secret" renovations to the office space in the last episode made me laugh. The season has been better than I expected so far, but I won't be too upset if this is the last, it's had a good run.

Well that just sucks.

If this is the last season, than it certainly is quite a strong one to go out on.  Many shows just get bad towards the end, but this one certainly has not.

I dunno, I still love the shwo and everything, but the last few seasons had been a bit rocky to me. Some great high points, but not as continuously strong as the earlier seasons had been. Heard about Edelstein leaving before I even saw the finale last season, so given how the last one ended, clearly the writers weren't expecting it. So that set my expectations pretty low for this season, and I've been amazed how strong it's turned out to be.

And if it goes on on a good season, that's a good thing. It's a testament to the cast that it's held up as well as it has, and I'd hate to see fox run it into the ground, trying to milk every last nickle they can out of it.

:edit: The title of this thread now amuses me.

bumpty-bumpty-bump

Nothing's been comment-worthy in a long time, but so far this week's episode has had house's favorite hooker dumping him (she's getting married), and his team administering a pelvic exam to a sex doll, and it's only half-way over.

Nice.

I like this show. I watch it on Hulu though, so haven't seen the episode you're describing. Good to know in advance what I'll be seeing.

The last few episodes though, I have been able to spot the twist a mile ahead.

Well, hot woman living with him could reject him. Hookers won't - or so he believed. Turns out they can, at least, if they're Hollywood hookers with hearts of gold.

I liked the House: Swan Song show too.
