I did a quick search, and from what I could see, this is a new topic.

-First off, learn how to fucking spell. I mean, come on, the 'o' key is nowhere near the 'e' key.
-Second, it's Hugh Laurie.
-Third, it's emotions.

-Now enough of getting on your case about trivial spelling errors.

-Personally, I think that "House" is one of the greatest live-action shows ever created. Of course, this is only my opinion, and I'm sure other people will disagree.

-It's a good show, and it has accurate medical information as well. (As far as I know.) It blends that in with a good storyline and humor, so some people can actually learn a lot of things while watching this program. This is especially useful to me, as I plan on becoming a doctor.

-Season 1 was the best season so far, and it also contains my favorite episode, "Three Stories". Season 2 so far is OK, but I'm really not liking the storyline with House's ex-wife being there. Hopefully this show will go to a 3rd season and the episode quality will improve. (Or this current season will improve.)

-Also, there needs to be a few episodes where a patient dies. I mean, I don't wish harm on anyone (except a few people), but if House keeps saving patients, some people may get tired of this, as no matter what happens, House will always save his patient.

-Overall, it's a good show. (And my 2nd favorite episode, "TB Or Not TB" is airing tomorrow.)

First of all while you were lecturing me on how to fucking spell you made a spelling error your self. But I'm sorry your lordship please forgive me for making such "trivial" spelling errors.

I agree with your comments about House's ex-wife. But another stupid plot line was Cameron wanting to date House I mean JEEZ he's SOOO much older than she is. And it fizzled off and was never mentioned again. Does any one know when there will be new shows?

I sometimes wonder what accent Hugh Laurie speaks with when they're taking a break on set.

isn't he English? I'm pretty sure he was speaking with an English accent on the Ellen talk show.

Well, yeah. He was George, for heaven's sake.

I just wonder whether he has to keep himself 'in-character' on set, voice-wise.

I'm a stupid American who has no idea who George is, but Hugh seems like a decent enough actor. I bet he can handle the switching back and forth.

He played both Prince George and Leiutenent George in Blackadder 3 and 4 respectively.

Also Prince Ludwig in Blackadder 2, but that was a cameo.

Zoidypoo: If you're referring to me typing "one" instead of "on", I apologize. And I did not spell "trivial" incorrectly. If you're not talking about that, then please tell me what word I spelled incorrectly.

And a new episode airs on January 10, 2005.

If any one here reads P.G. Wodehouse Hugh Laurie played Bertie Wooster in the show Jeeves and Wooster, across from Stephen Fry. I had no idea that Hugh's American accent was that GOOD

Yeah, when I first saw the show, I thought Laurie was an American. When I saw him be himself (I believe it was on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" ), I was surprised to learn he was British.

lol, and on that episode, when Leno asked Laurie to speak a few sentences in his American accent, Laurie said he would do it only if he was paid money. In a way, I can understand him, since maintaining as good an accent as he does must be difficult. But come on, it's only one sentence.

Hugh Laurie gets whatever he wants from me - he wins the Pommie dickhead award for his great work in Blackadder!

"I know exactly what you mean Blackadder. Why, just the other day Prime Minister Pitt called me an 'idle scrounger', and it wasn't until aaaages later I thought how clever it'd been if I'd said - OH BUGGER OFF YOU OLD FART!"

I felt incredibly sad to see poor George being smart and crippled and American - terrible waste.  :(

I have a bad feeling "House" will get cancelled. I mean, it's second season hasn't had a lot of consecutive new episode aired. In the beginning there were like 4 straight episodes, then a 2 week break, then 1 or 2 new episodes, then a 1 week break, then a new episode, then yet another 1 or 2 week break, a new episode, AND NOW no new episodes until February 7. I wonder what other show *coughcoughFuturamacoughcough* FOX has treated like this.

In either case, it is a good show and I truly hope it doesn't get cancelled. But if this kind of crap keeps up, I really don't know.

Well, part of that has to do with Fox's programming schedule. Those new 4 episodes came out probably in the early Autumn, then all Fox programming takes a break for the World Series in October. Then there's probably some new episodes in November, then repeats around mid-December (replaced by holiday programming). Right now, House's time slot is taken over by American Idol. Once 24 goes to its normal slot, House will take the 8pm Monday section. I think.

I wouldn't worry about House getting cancelled. It gets good ratings, awards, and is generally considered a "hit." It should be around for some time.

^-If that's true, that would be good.

-And "House" was supposed to move to Mondays at 9:00p.m., but FOX scrapped that and it will stay on at it's current dayslot/timeslot. It returns in February, after "American Idol" finishes the "talent search" phase of it's show, and goes back to it's regular one-hour duration.

*Season 3 Bump*

I had mixed feelings about the ending last season, but as somebody who was a big fan of ST:TNG for it's entire run, obviously it takes a lot more than one weak ep to make me give up on a show.

But anyway, last season ended with House's knee problem apparently being fixed, and this season opens with him running all the time. House without a cane will take some getting used to.

One thing I've always found interesting about the show is the contrast between House and Wilson. On the surface, House seems like a complete ass, but as you see more of him you realise that he's actually a pretty good guy (if not a nice one). Wilson, on the other hand, seems immediately nice; polite, courteous, sensitive, generally good with people. But in terms of true character, I've found him somewhat lacking.

Just in case anyone cares that much, my last comment gets spoiler tags

Eyedol: You can tell how worried Fox is about a show by how quickly they get the DVDs to market. Season 2 hit shelves almost immediately after the last ep aired. Yeah, they're nervous. I did my part, bought season one (even though I don't know that House is a show I'll really want to go back and re-watch again and again).

Mole: If you think his talents are being wasted, you clearly haven't watched much of his work on the show. He is absolutely brilliant.

i think hgis talents are wasted on the show. ive pretty much seen everything mr hugh laurie has ever done, hes big in australia, and id say house wasnt up to his usual standard. i mean the storylines are good, dont get me wrong, and its better than the usual crap the state peddles, but his character is too one dimensional. always putting everyone down. its too repetitive for me. besides he looks better when hes smiling and making jokes.

Bah, it sounds to me like you're just trying to typecast him. You see him in House, and you inappropriately compare it to the kind of character you expect him to play, and are disapointed.

If you watch the show for a while, you'll realise his character is actually more complex than he initially seems, and is far from one-dimensional.

That said, House certainly isn't for everyone, and if it's not your thing, so be it. I actually find his character quite likeable, even if he is usually a prick.

In case anyone IS a fan, or for anyone else who's just currious...

An awesome site with reviews of every episode,  focusing primarily on the medicine. Written by a doctor who is a fan of the show, it makes for very interesting reading, and points out just about every flaw or inaccuracy in their medicine, however trivial. It's well researched and heavily linked to references.

Hugh Laurie went into his audition for House using his accent and the panel didn't twig that he wasn't American until after he got the part - the only other big thing he'd done in America at that point was the dad in Stuart Little (also American). How they hadn't seen any Blackadder, or a Little Bit of Fry and Laurie, or Jeeves and Wooster is beyond me, but hey.

That would be the cue for more "stupid Americans" remarks  :D

I've gotten into watching this show, it's quite good.  The story lines seem to border on the unbelieveable side some times, but luckily the character interactions are what make the show.  House is a dick, but you like him.  That's not easy to pull off.

yeah; the stuff this season has been a bit more unbelievable than usual, it's actually one of the more accurate medical dramas on TV. And don't take my word for it, there's a link to a doctor's blog about the show above.

I watched some episodes of House just to see what it is.  I thought the show as okay.  Not too good or too bad.  I recognized Hugh Laurie from Blackadder.  I used to love that show.  It's out on DVD.

I really love to watch House.  It is my favorite show of sometime now.  It is one of the only things I cant live without on tv.

As for Hugh he also played a part in one of the Dalmations movies.. I think it was 101 Dalmations with Glen Close.  He was her helper.
